Personally, I love IPA's and Double IPA's. My absolute favorite beer is Dogfish Head 90 Minute. It's got this faint grapefruit aroma and faint citrusy aftertaste that gives me an orgasm and a half...
I'm drinking this right now and i'm really enjoying it (borat voice)

Huge fan of Chimay Blue, but Sam Adams (and PBR if reallly on a budget) is the ace in the hole. Can't stand a lot of american pilsners. Haven't found anything else remarkable, sadly. Grolsch was fun only in name

lotta earthbounders but its understandable

back home there are party game sorts that could easily be favorites based on play time, because each time we get together to play either turns into an ALLNIGHTER, several in-jokes develop, etc. specifically NBA Hangtime (we use the SNES version). it's just a ridiculous game that is even more ridiculous when infinite turbo is active, we'd just shove the opposing team relentlessly and because of so much shoving it would activate crazy bugs involving super-high-above-the-screen-camera-wont-pan jumps and the computer seems to become irate and desperate and craps out the human player (probably just me tho)

otherwise it would be smt nocturne

This may sound cheesy but I have enjoyed reading these. haven't been able to read through life stories anywhere else on the web. hopefully this will be interesting at the very least

i talked to alot of people who let themselves get pushed into things (by their parents or just by their own sense of 'that's what you do' or whatever), and it always sounded like such lame crap and you're got to work things out first. not worth getting in debt and digging yourself into things.
Same happened to this fellow; it's pretty much true. It's a stupid social pressure. "follow ur dreams but goto college frist!!"

After I graduated college I stayed in town for the summer and worked facilities/carpentry for the same school and ran into one of my old teachers, he quipped in his own deadpan and gross way "hey didn't you graduate" and it pretty much angered me so I replied in a way I shouldn't have, but that's all done and it felt good at the time. so like graduating high school and pushing you to the generally considered "next level" apparently you're supposed to have a job with a corner office just months after you get your college diploma (or go to graduate school etc.). In a related note, I was an English major so everybody, EVERYBODY, asks you if you're going to be a teacher. Hated it so much I didn't consider the possibility.

I am trying to build a steady-paying career as an actor. Stage, film, voiceover, it doesn't matter. I just like getting involved with productions, it's a very useful emotional release, and you meet people. Sure I will dress up as a celery or bottle of pepto and sing you a song. I take a lot of enjoyment from people laughing because of something I did, so it's a little natural to do get into performing. Only thing is I didn't consider it as a serious career until last year of college, so it all feels wasted in that sense.

Tried to open my own theatre up in south dakota because I was at odds with a community theatre there and their shows sucked (I let them know it too) but everyone loved them. Celebrations of mediocrity are the worst. Long story short the theater didn't work out. This was all while doing other shows, training, and working fulltime! It was a very busy summer. The temp job ended and bills started take over so I had to move to Houston and now I assistant manage a fitness center in the morning and audition in the afternoons/evening. Been in a couple of nonpaying indie films but haven't had any luck so far getting bigger roles anywhere.

Also took part in a couple of open-mic stand up comic sessions at random bars here and was kicked out first round of a stand up competition since I've been here. I guess if I wanted to win I would have been dirty or racy or whatever but I agree with groucho that "real comedians are clean and funny." It was a fun deal nonetheless.

vertigo had some baller sex scenes dog. dvda all the way

i should mention she wasn't really EVIL per se, i mean that michel is a criminal horndog and murders to preserve his freedom, and in the last couple scenes of the film patricia seems more calculating and ruthless in comparison. I don't particularly like citizen kane or Renoir's the rules of the game, but breathless, kane, and game all made turning points in the cinema and its nice to know why. if one doesn't like the film in the end, then thats that. not a big deal

Breathless was big deal in a few ways, but most of all because it was influential as hell. The stories behind its production are rather astounding: every scene was written the morning it was to be shot, its use of jump cuts (considered revolutionary at the time) werent even premeditated rather more accidental and an afterthought, no extras were hired so they just went out and filmed expansive shots in the street, using wheelchairs for tracking shots, timed shots for certain lighting, etc.

keep in mind that the movie arrived during the so called "golden age" of hollywood or whatever in the 70s, and a boatload of characters were emulated from the "gangster" dude michel. i think Godard only put Bogie in there because I know he loved american films and probably idolized Bogie in a similar way but also in this case it really helps the character, because he puts up this huge whole facade that he's a tough guy, and this helps compare michel with patricia. patricia in the end seems more evil than michel because she's not confused, and rather enigmatic.

Its cool, detached style and these self-adoring characters that put no regard into authority or the world around them was very attractive at the time; basically Breathless is awesome because it made hollywood movies obsolete, in a sense.

here is that TIFF list for anybody who is interested in it. i can personally recommend most of these movies! except a couple which stink and a couple which i haven't seen.

it's an overload but what i did was just save the list on my desktop and anytime i wanted to watch a film and didn't have any ideas in particular, i'd just pick one from this and watch. i think that's a good way to look at it.

Gee whiz i've only heard of two movies in there... I like to save movie lists like these on notepad docs so this ones going there. I try to keep my eye out for more foreign film too, you are not alone at all, bub.

What I would recommend:

Breathless (Godard, French)
Children of Heaven (Majidi, Iran)
The Band's Visit (Kolirin, Israel)
Cinema Paradiso (Tornatore, Italy) this is my favorite movie ever btw
Raise the Red Lantern (Yimou, China)
Los Olvidados (Bunuel, Mexico)

I like to look for middle eastern filmmakers too. I have Chop Shop sitting on my hard drive and I still need to see Goodbye Solo. So many movies to see, man...
