Dentsply DXTTR III model trainer - a dental teaching tool that contains a REAL human skull underneath the outer molding. A very unique and strange piece that would make an incredible addition to any collection!

I had to start my life over having to face a new world and people that I never knew existed after losing my employer. Unfortunately, the life I chose was for a reason and no one is responsible for the choice that I made which was to live in a condominium, and it was my domain for almost six years. I was harassed and I chose to face life instead of running and challenge demons in order to survive. My life was no one else's life, but disciplining inhumane people changed my life and they tried to control my mind and body electronically in retaliation.

Has a "look inside" preview.

supposedly "arguably" the first consumer Cd rom -1989

The Education of a CD-ROM Publisher. An Insider's History of Electronic Publishing. By Chris Andrews.

Interesting history here, lots of CD-ROM firsts.

Three HyperCard Stacks on CD-ROM: A Review

1 January 1989

Summary: A review of the Macintosh CD-ROM versions of The Manhole, the Time Table of History, and the Electronic Whole Earth Catalog with emphasis on their usability and their support of hypertext navigation. Based on the discussion of these hypertexts the following general principles are found to be useful for analyzing hypertext user interfaces: Navigational dimensions and their explicitness, directionality and literalness, landmarks, locational orientation, history lists, and backtrack mechanisms

"Art is the mother of religion"
- Onisaburo Deguchi

to bury your dead is the first artistic act

"The aesthetes are people with spirit and intellect, who live for themselves, make life imitate art, judging it by the aesthetic criteria of beauty, interest and novelty. The rewards are an ‘interesting’ life, an active imagination, and the possession of an ironic detachment."

A report on Cybersoaps (an early attempt at internet advertising) 1996

http://www.nytimes.com/1996/03/11/business/media-business-advertising-with-soap-operas-now-web-what-s-next-j-r-ewing.html

Cybersoaps available today include:

*"Techno 3" (http://www.bluepearl.com/bluepearl), which follows three women controlled by a "ruthless cyberterrorist." The program does not carry advertising, but Zima, the malt beverage marketed by the Adolph Coors Company, sponsors its site.

*"The Spot" (http://www.thespot.com), which focuses on the hijinks of six 20-something friends renting a Santa Monica beach house, has carried advertising since January. Two employees of Rubin Postaer & Associates, the Santa Monica agency that handles the account of the show's first advertiser, the American Honda Motor Company, were written into one episode in January; they signed the contract for Honda on the hood of a Passport. "The Spot" is produced by American Cybercast, Marina del Rey, Calif., which is owned by the Grey Advertising unit Fattal & Collins and the Creative Artists Agency of Beverly Hills, Calif. The show's monthly advertising rate is $16,500.

*"The Squat" (theory.physics.missouri.edu/squat), a spoof of "The Spot" by four college students, is about "five hicks livin' in a trailer with a horse"; Integrated Online Designs of Albuquerque, N.M., will sponsor it shortly.

*"Ferndale" (http://www.ferndale.com), which concerns a fictional California therapy center, comes from Songline Studios, in Sebastopol, Calif. Songline, which is 20 percent owned by America Online, offers advertisers several options, including product placement in programming at $5,000 a month for 20 guaranteed mentions or $15,000 for 80, and standard banner ads at $20,000 a month.

back down a couple of states My library had a 2001 edition Scrye magazine ccg price guide. It was a huge fucking book and it had both little jokey reviews/explanations and complete card lists with notes on card rarity, all from a wide selection of the most popular (Magic) and dumbest, most obscure games (?????? trash ccg that had "Firey Winds" and "Killer Sheep"). One game was all about ANTS and all the cards were the most disgusting red lineart over bright white, just awful. From this tome I also learned that the very earliest prototype Magic cards used Calvin and Hobbes art (turning into safe midair = Earthbind). I fully intend to go back to that library and nab that book for myself someday because it's not the sort of thing you can just order online, and it constituted many many lendings worth of gaming inspiration.
