it's north of dunwich, quite a bit. It's in that general area between Dunwich - Yao Guia - Little Lamplight and west of Evergreen Mills.

If you hit little lamplight you've gone too far north, dunwich is too far south and evergreen mills is too far east.
yeah gotta be vault 87. you have two ways to get into it, both through little lamplight; one is a computer terminal you gotta hack, and the other is through Murder Pass.

it's a very important main storyline area, almost towards the end of the story.

Alright, so I'm at the Hydroponics Control room and I've killed every poison pod (including the one in this room), but I'm still being redirected back to that room even though I killed the creature already.

Nice little fatal glitch, I already saved after this (since it wasn't the last poison pod I killed and the sub-objective complete thing still came up) and now I have to restart the game.

Fuck da world.
i've never heard of this happening

half the time i thought this was happening to me i moved around then realized the line pointed elsewhere...or down through the floor (some glitches etc) so try going downstairs??

Maybe we'll be able to put them into GTA 4!
In all seriousness, though, they fucked up the layout, I think. It all seems a bit unnecessary. Although, I am loving the fact that you can install the games directly on the system.
I wonder if I could rent some games and install them...
You still have to put the CD in. Microsoft's not that stupid!

If you try loading the game it asks for you to put in the game's disc. It's a check method, but everything runs off the system's memory itself.

Also, I think everything's newer, cleaner, faster, and all other things. I find it stupid how they made avatars but who cares really? Everything's pretty sleek, no more ugly big side bar covering half my screen, etc. etc. I've yet to test out the installation feature as I gotta free up a lot of space! (I only have like the 20 gb)

LOL, are you serious? wow I am not going there then... well not yet anyway...
Yeah that's pretty much the free reign thing.

You can do whatever you want, and you can find your dad on your own. It's actually weird to know that there's a game where they don't limit you from cutting into the story wherever, though it's also bad to skip half the story so who knows!

If you stick to one or two guns you will run out of ammo very fast. When I was playing I rotated my guns consistently, mainly because your inventory fills up really fast if you don't. You pick up a ridiculous amount of ammo in the game (at least on Normal), the problem is that it's all for different weapons, so you're almost forced into using all the tools at your disposal. I think it keeps it kind of fresh; it's kind of boring to use the same two guns over and over and over again. The only weapon I never used once was the flamethrower, and I used the linegun for a little while before I put it into my safe and never touched it again.
i mean i was on normal and i used the pistol all the way, never bought another gun.

maybe it's just cause i downloaded the elite suit thing, cause i was able to store up extra ammo for other guns and sell it later to buy more pistol ammo.

i did my first playthrough with the pistol. idk maybe it was because i became conservative about it? i can't quite remember how i survived with just the pistol/found a lot of ammo. i mostly bought it cause i'd store up on all sorts of stuff and sell it. plus i got the "elite suit" for free which gives you 25 inventory slots. too bad the stupid people have it costing microsoft points now or whatever.

also yeah the protagonist never stops being silent! so yeah.

and are you talking about the baby looking things? their "weak points" are to shoot their tentacles when they come out. like when they stop moving and bring out their 3 tentacles, shoot the tentacles off. you only have to shoot 2 off to kill them (for normal mode if i remember right) or else you're unloading your ammo into its body and wasting it all.

no bros, sisters crazy, dads dead.

and I'm still in the wrong you shouldn't swear at your parents but its amazing how bad the word ATHEIST is to most people.
yeah i don't plan on telling my parents until i leave home. like they would (more like my mom actually! go figure!) would try to get me to start going to church, taking stuff away from me, etc. she's crazy.

I'm having a much better time with this game than I thought. the plot is such a fucking writeoff, and every single scare is OH FUCK IT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE so far, but it's a good time. the lack of a hud is astonishing good game design V. IMMERSIVE or whatever term you dorks throw around. yeah I'm impressed so far and I'm only on chapter 2.
oh shit.....

steel..... likes it.......

nah but yeah i let my friend borrow this game since i beat it. i'm waiting for him to give it back cause i want to brace impossible mode :(

one time i shot a bear and it flew way up into the sky and didn't come back down for like 2 minutes.
yeah this game has glitches abound like this

like one time i killed two robots outside this factory and left. then i left and explored. came back in front of the factory and one of the robot's body flew in the air and crashed back down, squirming all over the ground. to test this, i left, then fast traveled back and it did the same again.

I only fought two or three in random encounters and they move as fast as super mutants.

Anyways, I installed some mod that adds "realistic" weapon damage and it's pretty great.  Shooting someone in the head actually does damage!  As a result, I put the difficulty to very hard and holy crap the experience of playing the game is 30x better.
how so?

too bad i'm playing on 360 and putting it on very hard = cheap deathes by deathclaws and super mutant masters.

oh and btw what'd i say earlier in this topic! i hadn't even progressed far through the story and i was already at the level cap of 20. stupid 360 version makes me sad :(

Holy fuck that was awesome. I sat down and finished the last ~6 chapters in a single sitting but needless to say that ending was incredible. I also saw the little predictable bit at the end, what with but I still jumped about six fucking metres into the air.

I was thinking the game was getting a little repetitive around chapter... 8-9, but it really picks itself up in the last two chapters. Incredible.
Yeah that's what I was getting at. Around Chapter 8, 9, 10, it felt really repetitive to me so my playing slowed down. Afterwards I finished the last two chapters in one sitting.

Overall it's a good game! Worth the money I'd say, if you like this type of game. As far as replayability, who knows, but I'm doing another run on Impossible difficulty to get my ass handed to me.

I never understood the rabid desire to level up to higher numbers over the desire to progress through a storyline. Sure you kick more ass but it's never had that much appeal. GRINDING up the levels just seems a horrible task which is pointless when I play games to relax. It seems too much like... working.
well what's funny is more or less i haven't been grinding, i've just been getting my ass kicked then reloading getting ass kicked reloading then finally beating the 10 super mutants in a single room and shit like that i keep stumbling upon through my quests.

i'm progressing through the quests and gaining mad levels that by the time i even get far through the main storyline i'll probably have hit the level cap and it'll be a bit annoying!

Has anyone else hit the level cap uncomfortably soon?  I understand that the intent is to encourage you to go and make a different character than just level one up until you are an expert at everything, but . . . it just seems to happen way too soon.
yeah idk i'm barely through the game at all, been doing side quests and stuff...

and i'm almost level 10. if the level cap is 20 i'll be there not too long, it's kind of sad. i wish it would've been longer. hell, they could've split some of the perks to higher levels and made them better :(

plus i have the 360 version so no mod for me!

Well I like the first Gears of War a reasonable amount but . . . I don't know I'm just not interested in this at all.  I can't really say why!
well i meant something along these lines

i liked gears to an extent but it's not to be worshipped like so many do to it. gears 2 won't change much but everyone's gonna praise it for its advancements...when it boils down to a lot of the same gameplay i bet!

Hey so the controls on this game are fucking horrible, like to the point that I would not play this with a mouse ever, they are slow, sluggish, the mouse has a delay for some stupid reason and fucking with the sensitivity controls are pretty awkward. I'ts not a case of rebinding or re-handling it's just that GENERALLY the controls are pretty fucking awaful and the only way I could get any amount of GOOD CONTROL was to plug in my xbox controller at which point it was STILL sluggish and awful, harder to aim but at least I could walk around without running into everything and struggling to see where I am going due to LUMBERING ISAAC TAKING UP ALL THE SCREEN.

Does anyone else have issue with the controls and what did you do to fix it?
maybe it's just me but on the console i'm used to the controls. i guess it's probably more screwy on the computer i guess. i agree though the controls aren't the best but i got used to it.
