hey on this note (and hello I just stopped lurking for a second) if a person has a name ending with S do you say for example

james' pizza

or

james's pizza

I am so confused!

I also want to hijack this thread and ask about commas. i pretty much throw them in whenever I would stop speaking in one breath in a sentence

I'm currently graduating from community college with an associates in Natural Science (hopefully). And then I have to find a university!

I want to become a doctor one day, and quite frankly, I love medicine and I do fine in school but I really don't know yet if I'm made of the stuff that Doctors I made of! That said, I'm scared to death of fucking up.

Choosing a college is extremely hard too since I'm not a US citizen, but I want to go to the US to study. Chances are though, I might just stay here and study.
If I stay here though, I'm pretty much stuck here, and living here pretty much depresses me.

It's kind of frightening to really be at that stage when you're going to be making decisions that'll likely affect you for the rest of your life!

I will try my hardest to buy this.

But out of curiosity what are the contents? How many of the writings are stuff we haven't read before from him. Is it stuff he left lying around?

Either way, I'll buy it and keep it in a special place with all my other favourite books.

I almost never really have any spare change. The thing about hobos here, is that they aren't really the kind that deserve my sympathy.  There are ones that make you feel bad, but for example there's this one guy who's stronger and healthier than I am, who actually takes up a brief case and walks to a specific spot in front of a bank every morning to beg. He could easily get some sort of blue collar job (which believe it or not, is actually in demand here). But instead he finds it too easy to just sit there and mooch off people.

Then there's the people who you give money, and they just gather it to drink. Town area is pretty much full of this kind of people. They ask for money for bread, and use it for rum instead. It's disgusting, really.

Now, don't get me wrong, on the rare occasion that I actually do have money in my pocket to spare, and there's someone who actually looks like they might need it, I'll spare the change.

It's not just that.  It's raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and sprouted grains.  You can heat your food up to 118F and with this you can make numerous things like raw cheesecakes, nachos, salads, burgers, breads, cookies, pies...etc

Normal is subjective because for some people skewering mice, roasting them over a fire, and eating them in one bite is normal lol

hell of a lot more normal than eating it raw

I might shout at the person who made me angry, although usually I just sort of sit by myself and allow myself to simmer down and then go on as usual. I have a strange feeling that I bottle up my emotions and I might end up doing something really stupid one day though!

Hey, first off congrats on getting into med school! :) Looks like all your hard work paid off.

If I had a year off, I'd spend it learning to do stuff I always wanted to do. Learn to play the guitar on a basic level at least, learn the fundamentals to a couple foreign languages I've wanted to know, random little skills here and there.
If I had time and money for it, I'd visit a place or two, and try some new things.

I wasn't too specific I guess, but if I knew that I was entering a profession where I'd have little free time, I'd do all these little things I always wanted to do before I died.

Oh, naturally, I'd read a bunch of books too.

But just for the record, you will still have free time dude. You just have to manage it.

EDIT: Oh, I'd also try to learn how to draw on atleast a basic level, and probably write a few short stories here and there.

Most likely saltfish and rice, and maybe some red beans.

white pasta isn't healthy and it's disgusting. possibly one of the worst foods unless it's baked mac and cheese or served with chicken parmesan
What? Get out ------->

Just out of curiosity, how much depth does regular American history go into "Black History"? I know its literally all I learned in school growing up where I did, and I was just wondering. This is purely out of curiosity. I think Strangeluv, if he's around can attest to this. I don't know if history is more diverse in Trinidad though, but we literally just learned about colonial times.

Like did you guys have to learn about the various colonies that were enslaving people, their different protocols, the struggles by the emancipationists to stop slavery, a few case studies of slave revolts and general plantation culture? Or was it just a general outline of black history or something more specific to the united states.

:S

I'm not on any side of the debate really, as I'm a bit of a philistine, but I was just curious about how much depth you really had to go into it.

I've never been to one since the ones here are in some baaadddd places in town, and attract the kind of people I try to avoid for personal safety :(.

But, I don't really get what you mean. I suppose I understand that it wouldn't rock as much as it would if the woman actually liked you but... I figured it would be fun to go there with friends and just enjoy some female rubbin'? I just see it as mindless fun.

I have problems with this too. If its religion, I don't bother since it never goes anywhere, but otherwise (like a human rights issue - eg homophobia, racism) I'll definitely say something. I never bring things up though, and only offer arguments when people say stupid things, and I pretty much disregard how I come off. For example, where I'm from, Christian Fundamentalism is pretty common and I heard someone say something along the lines of "Haiti does voodoo, they deserve what they got" and it got me a little angry.

The problem though is not coming off condescending. I really don't know how to tell people that their ideas are unfounded without heavily implying that I think they're horrible idiots. :/ Luckily I can avoid these kinds of people anyway, and sometimes I just avoid the confrontation because honestly a lot of them will never listen to me.

There's also the inability to really articulate why a person is wrong. I can probably hold my own in a lot of arguments, but there's others where even though I may have good reasons, I might be shakey in putting them into proper compelling arguments. As a result, I just end up appearing as an idiot. So that's an issue too.

I don't really like Yoyogames. They don't seem to have good legs to stand on, and their vision for Game maker's future isn't as ambitious as it should be. I mean I'm sorry but its been maybe 6 years since I've even touched the thing, and its barely even improved in its capabilities.

My first time in I ended up with a guy dressed up like a gangsta and a bandana all the way up to his nose. And then the second time I got this guy who was smiling with these wide open dead eyes. And the third time, I found this guy with the thickest beard I ever saw.

This site  just opens a whole new realm of the internet I thought only existed in fables. :(

This is absolutely awful. I mean, seriously who the hell would choose that as the new logo?

Oh well, it's just a logo but sheesh.  I mean, it actually makes me feel uncomfortable to look at it.

I can't beat Mario and Luigi superstar saga because I just don't have the patience for it. My brother had to beat the princess peach in the desert part for me, because it was driving me mad.

I also remember giving up on Minish Cap around the bird area in the sky. I can't remember it for crap except that I pretty much never touched it again.

Also, I never beat Halo 3 in mythic (basically slaso skulls or whatever).  Requires hours of work, and even with a team is just so fucking painful.
