Nah, he's not a character. The show him for like a tenth of a second on the cross. Yeshua is a character, however, along with Mary Magdoline. They were pretty creative about it, actually. KOS-MOS and this other robot chick were built to host the soul of Mary Magdoline, KOS MOS being the good side and the other being the bad. The story is basically that this dude is trying to reset the universe, as that is the way it should be, and the way it happens every time. (Apparently this exact scenario is supposed to have happened many times before) This is a very simplied, version of what happens. There's more to it and it explains why they're there, I just forget, really.
