Street Fighter 4 is an utterly retarded game, I barely managed to beat the "character boss" (it was sagat for ryu), but then THE FINAL BOSS. God, the final boss. And this was on easy.

Tekken forever.

Played it. Loved it. Although, they didn't work on it as much as they worked on Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. Let's face it, you could do a million more things in it then you can on Prototype, but damn man, it feels great to play with god-like characters.

Whipfist FTW!

Didn't have my ps2 for a while, so been concentrating on PC games. But finally got PS2 to work again.

currently playing:

PC:
Gears of War 1
Prototype

PS2:
Grandia 3
Wild Arms 3

thinking of restarting Legaia 2 after I finish Grandia.

PSP:
Tekken 6
Wild Arms 2

Since we're talking strategy here, there's Grandia (all 3 of them). G3 has  piss poor story, but the best battle system.

But it's true about action games, unlike turn based ones, where once you learn the best spells, the "strategy" is CAST BEST SPELL x10, action games don't (usually) have that. Like Tales and Star Ocean games. Sure you have the best spells, but they don't do much more then you could by just running up to the enemy and smacking them.

Also Prototype is almost a direct clone of Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, but with less features.

Yeah, I just figured that out a while ago. I am using a windows xp SP2 disc but it obviously doesn't have the 3rd party drivers (or there would be no problem) The problem now is that I'll have to find the actual sata drivers. Hopefully it might be included in the Driver CD that came with the laptop? Gotta wait till tomorrow in any case :\

So my sis has an NEC Versa s970 laptop which came with vista business edition. She wanted to install XP pro on in instead, but heres the problem. When I do it via the standard boot menu (press key to boot from CD bla bla bla) after it sets everything, it shows up with a problem, it says "There is no hard disk found, setup cannot continue". And if you do it via windows, the option to "intstall XP" is greyed out.

How do I go about doing this? Help!

Lol! Just saying man. No need to start arguing about FF12 here in the FF13 thread! Make a new FF12 thread if we're gonna argue about it. (I liked it tho, I'm not to THRILLED with it, but it's still a good game)

How was XII terrible?  The story was pretty shit, but the gameplay was top notch as soon as you started getting gambits to build some pretty beastly AI.

Don't start that bullshit here again man, this is a FF13 thread.

You live in the USA? Here in Fiji, basically EVERY tv supports like, 4 or 5 different systems. PAL, NTSC, SECAM or something, then theres another version of NTSC etc.

I just set my tv to AUTO and thats that.

So yeah with a modded ps2 you can run a game from another region, but tough luck having it show up correctly.

never had this problem. All the games I BUY are PAL and work fine. All the games I COPY/BURN are NTSC and work just fine. Problems only happen if you use a patch or something and force a game to run on a region it's not on. (converting PAL FFX into NTSC for eg).

As far as I know, there's been nothing that I couldn't play. (Even burned my own Dual-Layer DVD game) Modchips are VASTLY superior to swap magic or whatever methods there are (just put the disk in and play) but if you can't get it then I guess swapping is something at least.

Doesn't the Netherlands have those little pirate shops you take your PS2 to and get it upgraded (with a modchip)? We have shops like that here.

Xenogears had towns and even Xenosaga did. Though if it didn't, it would make sense since it was all based onboard a SHIP half the time.

towns are the standard in these games I guess? *shrug*

You sir, are ridiculously stupid. "towns are standard in these game *shrug*" stop being an ass. Give ANY rpg where towns weren't "standard". Apart from Vagrant Story, (even that had towns, just no one living in em).

Soo...

Linear paths
No exploration (towns etc)
Menu based interactions
Fights that don't give experience

They might as well have made "Final Fantasy XIII: The book"
