Good gameboy style there, Fighter!


I tried to fight an enemy group 6 levels above my own. I was slightly unsuccessful, but I managed to get this screen just before I died a cruel death by Voltage.

And hmm, I completely forgot to put the Viperfish in the water. Will do that right now!

I've been working on the battle system so I figured I'd post a screen of what I have so far. I'm trying to get a tactical system, and trying to improve over what I had in Island Sky. The space on the right in the HUD will be used for when you open up the battle menu to choose a command other than walking/attack.

If you mean a panorama, you can still do the same, just divide the image size by 16 to get how many tiles it needs to be to show up on the editor (I think this is what you mean). So if it's a 640x480 pic, you need the map to be 40x30 tiles big. If not, then I'd have to see what you mean. Also, I responded to your PM before... I think. Unless I was imagining that I did.


Testing out a menu here. The ipod touch picture isn't mine and I'm going to replace that when I can make a better one, but this is generally how it'll look.

Yeah, but using all RTP in a short time period was the point of the project. I hope I at least pull off the mapping well enough to not be lumped together with many other RMVX RTP games. :)

Working on an RMVX game for a little bit. I'm not allowed to use anything except the RTP, no scripts either. This is a shot of the battle system. The blue crystal represents your health, and fades when your health goes down. The green one is for your magic. The black one is your special skill, it's black so it's empty, it goes bright orange when full. Then to the side, it's the 2 spells you can use at the moment: Cure and Fire.

There was a demo release, but that was a while ago and looks more NES style than this does. Yeah, the characters and story are original, so you won't have Cloud + Terra + Tidus going to defeat the revived Kefka or anything.

I finally got around to making interiors for this town. So this is a bar, I have to add more people in there though. Could be a good place to put those drunken charsets I've been meaning to use.


And a battle screen. I got the Monk girl equipped with the Song command so she could Buff up the party.

I voted 16, thinking -4 * -4 = 16. I read the responses here and yeah, it's not something my teachers ever told me about. I've heard PEMDAS and "the square of a negative is a positive" quite a few times though.

hey hey don't get your cooties in a knot, why are you angry its not even your game. Besides, I don't see why it was winning, there was nothing great about that game, definitely nothing compared to how much work others put in their games, like Carius and even farmrush (and they did it alone). Anyway, nackster, I support your removal of the entry for the reasons you stated.

Carius, you almost got my vote, but your game lagged to hell and back so I went with farmrush, I found terraformer pretty good.
I don't think it's an issue of winning or losing or thinking it's a bad game (I expected it to lose, personally), but it's unfair to make a claim that isn't true to disqualify a game. Again, if the claim is true, then I'd be fine with the game being removed.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Muse was started late into the contest and not before then. I'm willing to be proven wrong if someone has good evidence, but I think that at least for that reason, it wouldn't be fair to remove it from the votes. Maybe for gameplay or something. Either way, I'm not going to vote as I haven't played all of the games so it wouldn't be fair for me to do so.

If I had some more free time, I would have liked to participate in a contest like this.

I like swimming, but not when it's deep. I like to be able to touch the floor.  I'm afraid of a lot of other things too.
