Is there a topic somewhere that outlines GW's future plans and what the target audience of this site is et?. It seems clear that a lot of people (including myself actually) are confused about the status of this website. Nothing has changed since the day the new layout on the main page came into affect like 5 months ago or so. what the fuck is going on??

Out of all the posts I read, this one most accurately described my feelings as well. All the site really needs is content. The users and target audience will materialize if the content is there... I mean, how many of you were around for the original RPGMaker.net days and the first split where Gaming World even came about? I've witnessed the birth (and death) of several communities.

GW is a long way from dead, however, if there is no concerted effort to make plans and contribute valuable content for the future, then you may have to break out life support. :)

You guys have been slacking! I mean, Gaming World as a whole. I remember a time, long ago, when this site used to do amazing things.

First off, it used to be that Gaming World reviewed games and demos. Luckily people like grep are around now to review/preview a pile of stuff, but really Gaming World should be chalk full of reviews and previews!

Secondlyest, what ever happened to a little something I started called Mail Bag? Where is the GW WIKI? Where hath Bartek Gniado gone? Where is the massive database of resources that used to be hosted here?

I really did not come here to complain. It does seem the site is doing good and there are some great people surfacing. There was a time when I was fairly worried about the future of Gaming World, but I have to say that, much to my surprise, Gaming World is still alive and kicking.

You might be seeing a lot more of me around. Or maybe not.

Cheers to all my old mates, and here's to some new ones, right? :)

(Note... the images do not work, to view them, visit www.MyRPGP.blogspot.com ... Thanks!)

I've always been a fan of games like RPG that require little more than point and click, but I find the concept of timers VERY ANNOYING. I also don't like having to have friends in order to fully enjoy a game. MyRPGP aims to solve these problems and provide an entertaining character building experience.

MyRPGP uses a stat system I lifted from pen and paper RPG that I've never played. The mechanics are known as Tri-Stat dX.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tri-Stat_dX

Tri-Stat dX is the base method I used to construct a viable system for playing MyRPGP. The game focuses on character development through the building of stats. There is a certain rhythmic cycle to tasks.

The game is nearly functional at this moment... and I may have a beta soon. I really need input and ideas from gamers and developers alike to turn this in to the project I want it to be. I aim to have MyRPGP scripted to a point where players can insert their own custom enemies for one another to face off against (provided they are in the proper level gap) as well as contribute quests, items and other advanced features.

The underlying code is VERY SIMPLE and easy to modify. Mostly PHP/MySQL, some minor AJAX tricks here and there... nothing too fancy.

For more info, visit the development blog for MyRPGP at www.MyRPGP.blogspot.com

Let me know on here if you might be interested in contributing to the project. You'll find more screens but keep in mind that MyRPGP develops rapidly and much of these screens are out of date and no longer reflect how the game looks.
