Uhh right about now I'm playing through:

Lost Odyssey (I think I fucked up on my first attempt, plus I never got too far anyways.)
Paper Mario
Banjo Tooie (XBLA version)

Also I played through Beautiful Katamari again today. So short yet so fun and addicting.

I'm still looking for other games to play though. Anybody know of some good DS/PS2/GBA rpgs? I was thinking of getting Knights In The Nightmare if it's even out yet.

Welp good to see that your still progressing. You really have some perserverance to stick with something this long man, haha.

I haven't really been active on the community, since, you know, summer, and plus I'd like to get something done for once, so I'm removing my need to advertise my game.

Well anyways this reply is almost entirely pointless in the first place but keep working on it, can't wait for the first demo.

It's nice to not have criticism, aint it? /bitch

@Corfaisus: It's RTP, so what can I say? Alright mapping I guess, nothing too complex.

Pffft don't apologize, he is being one of those annoying people. Rm2k3 may be archaic and limited, but it's a system that presents the most SNES-like games which many of us cling to out of nostalgic preference. I find part of the fun of making games on rm2k3 is working around the limitations.

I don't even find that there are limitations. Seriously. Nothing you need to make a good game requires more than 2k3.  Also I apologize cause I don't act like an ass until people do so to me.

Also:

Something I was doing today.

Most of the tiles in the game aren't RTP! They're mac's VX version of the 2k/3 REFMAP.

Vanit: Good job and all - this stuff is impressive, but, like, you don't need to kill yourself in 2k3 to do this now that XP and VX have been out for years. 0_o I have no idea why people even bother using rm2k3 anymore considering how archaic and limited it is for the average developer (and the ATB is soooo sloooooowwwwww).

Personally I can't stand them cause:

VX has a shitty chipset system, which I don't like to use for custom graphics, since I feel like I have no room.
XP has double the resolution, which I could get used to, but also I can't event very well in it, the commands feel wierd even though they are mostly the same, like I can't get the picture command to work, which bugs me.

I just learned to use 2k3 first so thats what I'm comfortable with, and when telling people that they should use VX you should consider the fact that many people simply prefer 2k3 because thats how they started.

Also not to be offensive or anything, so sorry if I sound offensive, but it bugs me a lot how you and Karsuman are becoming these damn VX pushers or something, like when someone asks for help it seems you go 'VX!' and don't bother trying to help them or something.

I dont know, I found that annoying.

@ Lennon: I like the simple style with the humor and text. Is it RM2K/3?

Yep.

Whoah, a lot of great customs on this page. Nice to see.

I must add to them:

Not much to look at but if anything this is a first draft of the area.

Lennon the colors look fun but the character set is atrocius. I'm sure you could recolor a template from somewhere that isn't so blatantly rtp edit.

Thanks for the crit, but I'm not changing the char style at this point.

Squall17-
The prerendered backdrops look good, like the way but better. Reminds me of Sanosuke. Although it's wierd not having isometric chars.

Things I've been working on. I got the main charset done and did up the menu, also got the chip down for The Thorny Thicket.

Nazis, or close anyways, that's what they're based upon. Using the german symbol now because a swastika might be too much and I'm lacking anything better. Gonna put a statue up there in that empty sqaure and some more around the stairs but I need to finish the charsets first.

EDIT

Changed to swastikas after realizing how stupid not doing this was.

Lennon: That's Saturn Valley-inspired, right?  Looks pretty cool

Actually, no. It sure does look similar, I'll give it that but the only reason it's cylndrical is because when I wrote the prologue I made the surface world houses cylindrical.

@gongo3090: That looks great, especially for a first time CMS! Keep at it. You having a CBS too?

@Nessiah: Looks great, as with all your other artwork, although it'd be nice to have some info instead of a smoke bombing...

Still working on chipping away at this... ha

Well, actually I've been working on Neo Lescia a bit too, but this has been getting some attention.

@Lennon: That is looking great! The only thing is the second screen, are you currently making the inner tile for the surroundings, you have already got the floor and stuff.

Well, if you're asking if the second screen is the inner for the outisde screen (If you aren't then please tell me), then no, it's for a differen't area all together. I still haven't started the inside for the surface world towns yet.

Hmm, haven't posted here in a while... But I finally have something new to show! Hooray, I actually did something for once!

From a very new project, I wrote the prologue for it a month ago I think, but I only started the graphical work today.

So have you made any significant progress with it yet? I don't know why I'm asking as you'll update when there is, but it seems like you haven't gotten me to do anything yet, which makes me feel like you think I'm ignoring you or something.

Just make sure to PM me with requests or whatever.

Oh yeah and you can get MP3's from a whole bunch of games from here, if you weren't aware of it:

Looks good so far, damn close to FF6 mapping. The only shot that looked off was the last house thing, looked too empty.

Absolutely. Thank you so much, if you could just recolor a few of those... I'll send you some drawings of the characters I'm going to need in a few days or so. Would you mind doing a few other prominent characters too?

Not at all.

I might have found sometihng useful, but only if you wanted anime style facesets, and you only wanted teh 48x48 square not a dialogue face or anything.

Though if you want realistic faces I could still be of some help, just teh realistic ones aren't as varied.

Those are the ones I was speaking of. I know coloring could be an issue but I am confident that I could provide services for recoloring if its nesscessary.

Cool, I also didn't read the part where we get a devloper room spot. I've always wanted a developer room spot. :)

In terms of the monsters and chipsets I could try to put some together for you, and I know I can hook you up with some monsters, just ask me whenever/if you need it.

And about the music, if you have AIM you can contact Justin about it, he was my composer until a while back. I'll pm you his AIM if you want it. You could also use SaGa Frontier or Rudra music, as it is very similar to Final Fantasy music, if not better.

All said I hope to become a great help with this project. It'd make me feel good knowing I helped someone out.

Ha, I didn't realize that you were recruiting beta testers (Maybe I should read the description before asuming things eh). I'll be glad to beat test for you, hell, I have nothing better to do and this does look pretty sharp to be honest (Everything except the CMS, but I understand that it is in early beta.) Yeah so drop me a line when the first beta demo comes out, I'll be glad to help.
