I would play devil's advocate for the guy, but I find myself laughing the concept off.

Heh, yeah youtube isn't the best place for someone to boost their credibility, that's for sure.

Still, ever so often you find those gems you can either laugh at or think about. The guy looks old enough to have
given it some thought... just when I thought youtube was full of only crazy KIDS, eh?

Well, while I don't think he's insane (well other than for the reason that he choses to post this on YOUTUBE)

I think it's crazy to equate recession-depression to humanity's extinction. I don't think he's stupid, however.
His Physics videos are pretty interesting, that's for sure.

So i've stumbled upon an interesting youtube video, and I was wondering what
the smarter people around here would respond to his theory.

The man claims that our economy is inherently flawed and will lead to our extinction.
what is your opinion? Is this just another Malthusian crackpot theory or could there
be some validity to what he is saying?

My opinion is that he's exaggerating the gravity of the matter, and we have come out of
economic collapses in the past. Problem is, I don't really have the words to counter.
What do you think?

Well, I'm sure the concept is simple... as in "we have enough people, let's cater to the senior crowd"
