in this topic we can all get together and appreciate our material possessions. abandoned video game peripherals from cycle's forgotten, crystal vessels of ancient evils unearthed from thrift stores, cultural detritus scraped off the underbelly of the capitalist machine, whatever artifacts mean something to you please share them! I'll start with a vaporwave shampoo brush

The box is one of the most vapor wave things I've ever seen in real life, a perfect example of the kind of mid 90's Japanese consumerist style the genre was derived from.

RESET Shampoo Brush invokes images of the melding of human process with futuristic, digital dream scapes and pleasure matrixes. I'm not sure what any of the characters on the box mean, but I'm sure they're similarly vague and ethereal terms like "REFRESHING" or "Enjoy renewal..."

I got it at a dollar store while hanging out with Saltworld Oldbee mkkmypet and a few other friends. This particular dollar store was a treasure trove of abandoned early to mid nineties goods. I also got a book on speaking to dolphins, an old Rotterdam cd, and Jerry Springer's country cassette tape.

thanks for the encouragement Zephram, another reason I stopped making them is becausey webcam is 12 years old lol. soon though.

And no, getting grounded by your parents is apparentally a meme of sorts in the go animate community, there are thousands of grounded videos across hundreds of channels. though I still suspect it may be a revolutionary new generation wide fetish.

there is nothing quite like stumbling on some kids almost proto-fetishistic power fantasy animations while searching for video game enemy sprites

hi. over the past few months I've been using samples from Wario games, specifically Wario Land 4 and the first few Wariowares, to make songs in Garageband on my phone. I've taken the best ones and put them into this short album. I would compose them late at night in bed so I reccomend they be heard under similar circumstances. please just give it a listen or else you'll be missin (out)

Thanks!

i was in a thrift store in virginia a few weeks ago and I found this "make your own 3D video games" kit in the multimedia aisle, all the text was in that exaggerated red orange word art style and there was a picture of a generic space marine holding a generic space rifle on the cover. one of the tag lines was "Make your own action packed games with the same tools used to make Quake" or something like that. i wish i had bought it now, but it was missing the manuals and one of the cds, and I didn't have much money either way.

cinematech was a show on g4 they would use mostly to fill empty air slots, it was comprised of trailers and extra footage of games leftover from the other shows, usually set to some kind of chill electronic music similar to what they had on adult swim bumps. it always gave me that sense of digital expanse and newfound majesty that comes from staying up late and watching game trailers when your twelve. eventually they stopped airing it when they gained rights to cops and cheaters. now looking around this is the only episode of the entire thing i can find.
