Beyond that I've got a significant backlog of indies to play through, and next on the list there is Before the Green Moon.

oh yeah, I got that! The style reminds me of the canceled Earthbound 64 for some reason, and I am probably not doing that well in it but it's a nice little ambient game. I think to maximize your funds you're supposed to get chickens and feed them apples every day, but they lay eggs every day too which is a much larger profit ratio than if you farmed

checking out these sites

I feel bad because I could've been listening to this stuff back in college when all I knew about was some CDs to get and some internet radio. I think I did check out Thinner though, which is like minimal techno I guess?

that was really cool, makes me want to try to get simcity 64 working on an emulator.

I found this page randomly while browsing for stuff and they've got some good 64dd content.

oh yeah, I dunno if I'm creative enough to 3d model on my own, but I'd love to take a look at the collection of models and stuff for Mario Artist. Exploring Sketchfab and looking over the 3d models is fun

schools make for good mazes. Maybe that's why I dream I'm back at school so much

I also dream I'm at the library but it's like a combination of my local library and the one at college, as it has a lot of partitions/desks where you can work on your laptop. I don't really work on my laptop outside of the house anymore though, I'm too worried about damaging it and if I were to work on music it'd turn out a lot more than if I use the nice speakers at home

i also use my laptop as my at-home pc too, don't really like lugging it around. maybe I'll try to get a more lightweight computer later down the line for cheap.

also it helps to know that I don't drive, so anywhere I go with my laptop I have to carry it in a backpack and walk or maybe take the bus. I broke the screen on a Kindle that way too

I haven't played this game in years but had a dream about it so now it's on my mind

I'd like to do some more GW Radio but I'm kinda bored of playing the same old mix of songs.

I listened to "Gulp To The Whole Of Life" solely because the title of the album seemed interesting and it was pretty good with some nice sample choices / interesting use of channels.

oh and
Quote from: the bandcamp page
This album name was inspired by the title of an art blog post: butdoesitfloat.com/A-gulp-for-the-whole-of-life

the but does it float page has some cool art on it too. Found this:

I love going down internet rabbit holes. :waycool:

yeah the guy's got good taste as far as art inspirations/sample choices if not anything else.

buying a lot of music on Bandcamp. Found this guy, his music is a little repetitive and could use a little more polish but I like it for the most part

https://jorytbw.bandcamp.com/

I bought his whole discography for $15 (not sure what the minimum price was)

Edit: basically I just scanned the new releases for 'ambient' and look for album art that doesn't seem too cheesy, and a few days ago he uploaded something. You get quite a few harsh noise albums tagging themselves as ambient to jumpscare people though

Also got a cheap Chinese PS2 controller because my official one broke and also a replacement ps1 memory card and was playing Tail of the Sun, which is a pretty funky game.

My PS2 controllers were malfunctioning so I bought an 8bitdo Bluetooth Retro Receiver and it works pretty great with most of the bluetooth controllers I've tried of it so far.

I actually bought an official PS2 controller off EBay but it had an error where PS1 games would keep pausing because it didn't recognize the controller, and I think maybe also PS2 games keep hitting left or right constantly so even navigating menus was impossible. The only issue with the Chinese controller is that there are no pressure sensitive buttons so MGS2 you can't ease off the trigger when holding up an enemy for example

wonder what game it is, the screenshot makes for a good otherworldly wallpaper.

I'll try to find out but I might've deleted it
