For the past year I have been doing a math PhD in Switzerland. Basically PhD life can be nice, but my impression is that finding a good position and a good advisor in the same place can be difficult. So many horror stories about bad advisors

I was very lucky so life is really good here. Here is a pic I took one week ago. http://i.imgur.com/XjdjH9E.jpg

Although it's clearly a parody, I have this image/fantasy in my mind that this really is some rich millionare kid living in a huge mansion (inheritance from dead millionare parents) and spends all his time making youtube reviews of cheeseburgers and monster energy drinks

I recently had a dream where I found out that my dad was a 150 years old robot. He had to erase the older parts of his memory so that he wouldn't accidentally start talking about his experiences during world war I or something. That's all I remember. I'm sure there is some deep interpretation to this

lately i've been really interested in the old memphis devil rap scene. most of the songs have crazy fast flows that use a really aggressive triplet pattern that i like hearing in rap. a lot of cheap production on early 00s tracks, which means lots of synths that sound like straight up general midi and distorted vocals. it all makes for a very interesting and distinctive sound !

I have been listening to some memphis rap also, mostly mixes by legowelt: http://awolfe.home.xs4all.nl/mixes.htm

Legowelt himself makes some good music too

Okay, I think PUZZLE DREAM is ready for this jam.

I might expand on the idea of the game later because I like it, would have liked to make more levelz. I had the basic idea (graph isomorphism...) a while back when I was studying something and thanks to saltw jam I finally got around to actually doing something with it.

hopefully there are not too many game breaking bugs in this thing! it's made with java, so it should work with both windows and linux (special thanks for a buddy trying it out with linux). Dunno about mac.

Probably going with the title PUZZLE DREAM. I am making this in java/swing. It has been a while since I have coded anything, so progress is a bit slow sometimes. Trying to figure out how to make this work properly in different screen resolutions. Also still need to write level descriptions and make some scary music.

Current mood: Java sucks, I should learn how to use a game library/unity/gamemaker or something for next time

work in progress: click if you dare ....
