frisky skeleton-
Since you posted with some sense of rationality, though quite smug, I will address a number of issues in this response that I hope you find "valid" and "constructive."
First of all, a brief history. I have been a member here since 2002. That's three years before you joined. I frequented this and numerous other rm2k related forums. I am a 21-year-old man and I created the game in 2003-2004. I was 15 and all I really wanted out of it was to make a badass game that would garner some attention and accolade in this and the other rm2k communities. In my opinion that goal was accomplished, if for a brief time, at the height of rm2k's popularity. This community, at that time, was primarily all about rm2k. Furthermore in a lot of ways I owe Abstract Paroxysm for helping me discover my passion for creative expression and also for the degree I will be receiving in five months in Graphic Design. I'm proud of it. I put in an unimaginable amount of hours creating the short version I released, just as I'm sure the members of this board have done with their own projects.
That being said, on boring nights in front my laptop, I sometimes am curious if someone has posted something on the internet about my game. I get something new in a google search about every 3-4 months and it's always interesting for me to read people's thoughts. The myspace band however was something totally different from anything else I had found, and being that Gaming World is one of the last surviving boards that I frequented in those days this is where I thought to come and share it. I apologize for posting in the wrong forum. It's funny, I actually recalled how crazy the mods here are about having topics on the right boards. They have obviously trained you quite well. I didn't know where else to post this though. I mean how could this not go in 'general'? I looked for the 'dumb ass shit' board, but never found it.
Additionally, concerning the name- I'm no fool, I made up "Abstract Paroxysm" on a whim in an effort to just create an interesting name and nothing more. I'm not proud of it, and I now have to live with just trying to mark it off as "adolescent delusions." This does not upset me. It doesn't take a genius to realize I don't hold copyright over the name. I'm not even angry that they copied it, if they did in fact copy it. I'm simply making an observation about finding this out. If anything I find it flattering in a strange way. I'll bet their band name sounds pretty damn cool to them, too.
So damn man can an older member get a little respect around here? All I really wanted was a couple second opinions on the possibility of this being purely a coincidence. Bite me. shit.
ps: "Smurf Island was closed to make space for the BORG Assimilator" - from your profile - man I live in Charlotte. You must live somewhere pretty close. Regardless of this topic I just wanted to show some carolina love.
