report card:

- bailed out the banks, but has done next to nothing to regulate financial institutions to prevent them from doing the same things that crashed the financial markets.

- the public option no longer exists.

These two points are both false.  First, it was Bush not Obama who bailed out the banks.  TARP went into effect before Obama was sworn into office.  Second, the public option is only dead in the Senate.  In the House version it is very much alive.  Now those two versions must be reconciled into a final version, so it is still possible that some version of a public option may very well pass.

The thing is people are either too hung up on the junction system or that it has a LOVE STORY (Nerds HATE lovestories) with young people who aren't generic spikey-haired heroes (ok well... zell was, but it worked in showing how annoying those kinda guys are)

I hated the game for three major reasons.  First was the damn fact that you had to draw your magic from the enemies instead of learning it, which was a huge fucking pain in the ass.  Second was the damn enemies leveled up with you.  I hate that in RPGs.  I like to feel like I've accomplished something for all my time spent leveling up.  Third was the horrible story.   Everyone's from the same orphanage and they all have amnesia, WTF.

The only two redeeming things for that game was the card game and Faye Wong.  That's it.

I ended up getting a 1.5TB hard drive, Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, a Wii classic controller, 6 kung fu dvds, and a pair of Batman boxers.  If I didn't have to work today it would have been a great Christmas.

Infinite Undiscovery is pretty horrible. I gave up on it for like an hour because it was kind of dumb and not very fun.

I have to disagree.  While the first hour or so of the game is a little frustrating, the game gets much better further in.  Make sure if you buy it to snag the vouchers off Live.  They make the game a little easier.

As for recommendations:

RPGs:[/i]
The Last Remnant
Magna Carta 2
Tales of Vesperia
Star Ocean 4

Fighting Games:[/i]
Soul Calibur IV
Street Fighter IV
Virtua Fighter 5
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Tekken 6

Just found out that Capcom revealed they are working on Mega Man 10, so I'm playing through the first 9 games in order to prepare for it.

There are about 30 different emulators for the MSX.  They even have them for the Dreamcast, Wii, PSP, and DS, so finding an emulator you like shouldn't be hard.

As for games some of the better ones are Metal Gear 1 & 2, Vampire Killer, Final Fantasy, SD Snatcher, Maze of Galious, and Dragon Slayer.

it's not that... it's just of all the things out there you can read, that's what you're goin' with?  :welp: I don't even mean this in too snobby of a way, it's like tabloids, fan-fic-y starwars expanded universe shit, or grocery store romance novels. You just sorta raise an eyebrow and ask "really?"

It's not that I don't like reading good books.  In the last month I've read both of Obama's books, three books on Lincoln, a book on Jackie Robinson's impact on society and baseball, two books on the Civil War, and one about the history of the Negro Leagues.  It's nice to have something light and fun once in awhile.  Besides, I fucking hated having to read her books in my high school English classes.  It's nice to see someone desecrate her work and actually make it entertaining.

Pole Position.  I played it all the time at the local bar when I was 4.  I was too short to reach the steering wheel and work the pedals so my uncle used to hold me up so I could steer and he worked on the gas and brake.

Thanks Grunthor, do you recall if a demo or anything ever existed?

Unfortunately no demo exists.  In fact the only thing remaining of the game is this trailer:

It's a shame that the guy didn't finish it or at least pass it on to someone else to finish.  The game looked to have quite a bit of potential.
