So my sis has an NEC Versa s970 laptop which came with vista business edition. She wanted to install XP pro on in instead, but heres the problem. When I do it via the standard boot menu (press key to boot from CD bla bla bla) after it sets everything, it shows up with a problem, it says "There is no hard disk found, setup cannot continue". And if you do it via windows, the option to "intstall XP" is greyed out.

How do I go about doing this? Help!

So my PC has a 1GB DDR2 RAM installed, I want to buy another 2GB but, thing is, can you mix numbers like that? IE, can you have 3GB RAM or does it need to be 1GB or 2 or 4 like that? I'm asking because a friend told me it either needs to be two 1GB RAMS or one 2GB one.

ASUS P5KPL-AM/PS motherboard btw.

So I bought a new PC today, everything is cool, the PC has an onboard graphics card (it has an asus motherboard) and the memory is 256mb. Now, my old pc had a nVidia gfx card with 64mb memory (it was an AGP card), but it had the output connections for AV, (which I used to connect to my TV and watch movies and stuff) which the new pc's onboard card doesn't have.

It's pretty important to me to have the TV connection, is there anyway I can use BOTH graphics cards? I just need the nVidia one to be connected to my TV while i use the onboard one for everything else, like gaming etc.

I can give proper specs when I get home.

edit:

using Windows XP pro Sp2

Hi guys.

I just got a component video output cable for my PSP Slim. I tried it in the TV in the lounge, and it was wonderful, the colors and sounds and everything works, and games are awesome. Ok, now, I tried the same thing in the TV in my room, (Samsung 29" Model: 29M16)

I connected the component and the audio cables, but when I switch the output on the PSP, nothing comes on. Heres the thing, if I switch the mode to "Interlace", the XMB comes on, and the sounds too, but if I try to start a game, it says "Must be on progressive", so when I set it to progressive, the display shrinks and gets divided into 2 halves both display the same thing.

help?

Not a major problem (at least for now), but, when ever I go full screen on a program, fraps counter comes up with the FPS. Now, for eg, in rm2k3, it shows at 60FPS, which is proper, but then I start RECORDING, it drops to like, 12FPS, (and takes the game with it). And as soon as I stop recording, the FPS is back to normal.

Is this a PC problem? Or fraps? Is there something better (and/or free) then fraps?

Ok at work I got this email saying something like "dont open a email titled postcard from bejing" but I dismissed it as a chain letter or whatever, but today I got the same email from my ISP. Since I don't think ISP's will be sending chain letters lol, anyone else heard bout this?

Supposedly it "burns" your hard drive. Is that even possible? (it could be but I'm too dump to know)

Sorry if this is a horrible topic

So right now, my second hard disk, (where I keep all my data) is not showing up. This problem started recently, whereby sometimes I would startup and the POST screen can't detect my drives. (it would say "Primary Master: NONE" and "Primary Slave: NONE") wheres other times it would be OK.

Since I bought these drives, like, 3 weeks ago, I doubt it's the drives, is it the cables? (often times after turning it off for like HOURS it would startup fine)

So no my sisters want their own internet, I figured I could split mine instead if them buying a separate service. Ok, so I have a "TP-Link (TL-SF 1005D) fast ethernet switch". The main cable goes IN and then 2 cables come out, one goes to my PC and one to theirs, however, if I connect to the net first, they cant, and if they connect first, then I cant.

Am I using the right stuff? Can it even BE split like that?

OVERDRIVE!!!

The David and Goliath patches now have one extra feature.

120 Pictures!

To use, download the patch of your choice, then overwrite the previous one you have installed and then copy the rpg_rt.exe, and overwrite the one in your games project folder. After this you can use up to 120 pictures in rm2k3!

Link at bottom.

-Credits to Cherry for some technical information that made this possible-

Sup folks, I’ve been using this for a long time, (I made this a long time ago, and since I’ve already released some patches of mine, (like the exp patch) I thought I’d give this out as well)

It’s named “GOLIATH” because I use a very high resolution and rm2k3 just looked so…. small. So I took it upon myself to enlarge it. And this is the result.

REMEMBER YOU NEED TO BE ON 1280 x 960 RESOLUTION OR HIGHER

I’ve included a log of all the stuff I’ve changed in it to hopefully make it better.

ENJOY

DATABASE EDITS

HERO TAB

* Hero's name can be 30 characters long

So apparently mine is kicking the bucket, OR IS IT???

The main problem with my ps2 is that for some reason it decided to not read copied discs anymore. Well, it *does* read them, like after turning it off/on for like, 50 plus times, then it MAY read it and then its perfect, untill you turn it off and turn it on later....

The weird thing is that this is happening with only the discs I copied, and not the copied ones I buy. Originals are, well, one shot start, so are the copied ones I bought.
The fucked up part is that it was fine like, last week. This game I was playing was awesome, but now it doesn't even start, (and neither does the rest of the self copied ones), unless i restart about 40-50 times, (needless to say about the 10th time in I'm ready to give it the hammer)

The second issue is the vibration. I just bought a new controller because i thought the old one was busted or something, but no, the new one doesn't vibrate either, but it does on a friends ps2, which leads me to believe that my ps2 vibration is fucked.

Anyway, vibration aside, has anyone had the same problem, or know how this could be fixed?

Ok, my PC is acting like SHIT now. If I open Firefox, and WMplayer, then my starts fucking up badly. Like, the songs start crackling, my documents take like 20 seconds to open (it shows that searching torch picture thingie) and basically fucks up everything. The PC is fine for a while, then it starts acting up and if restarted, its normal again for a while.

Im wondering now, I have a P4 3.20GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM and STILL its messing like that, why??

Ok, now the question. These are my cpu specs

I have a "Hyper Threading Technology" option in my BIOS. Should it be enabled or disabled? Any other tweak I can try?

I have a webcam that also has a built in mic. Things were fine and dandy, but I formated my PC and now the mic isnt working. The cam works fine, but the mic isn't picking up sounds at all. I've come to think that maybe my mic jack may be fucked up? What I did was I put some earphones into the mic jack (they work like mics XD) but even then the audio detector didn't pick up any sounds.

So, if I put another sound card in it, will it override the on board one? Will both work together? What if I install the new drivers, and the on board ones mess things up?

Help...

I have two 512MB RAM installed, but lately, I've noticed my PC acting slower. Today, I right clicked and checked properties on "my computer", and I was stunned to see the RAM at 512 only, rather then 1GB. I quickly brought up the "dxdiag" dialog box, and that too said 512MB. Then where did the other 512 go? Wouldn't the PC like, not start, if a RAM was dead?

Ok. Well, my PC lags whenever I try to do something regarding games. Like, even your basic RPGmaker game kinda lags and full PC games are a no-no.

Right, well, I used to think its my video card, so today, I fit another video card, (on which everything runs very smooth), and yet, the same problem is there. rpgmaker games lag and bigger PC games lag too.

So now, if it isn't the video card thats the problem, what is? *_*

specs:

pentium 4: 3.2 GHz
ram: 1 GB
direct x 9.0c (4.09)

Ok, so I found a mmorpg called Tales of Pirates, its cool, but a bit too much for my poor 64mb card to handle, so I decided to buy a 256MB card. So, the only thing available was a "nVidia geforce 6200 a-le" model agp graphics card. Well, It got the game running alright :) BUT I've hit a big snag. After playing the game (and even during it) the color like, messes up.

Mild cases being like this:
and major ones being like this:

while ULTIMATE BADASS one, which happens right after I finish watching a movie or something Full screen on my PC, being like this:

btw, thats NOT my actual message, just example xD My message says, "NV4_DISP.dll caused an infinite loop" (or something)

OK, so I have the latest drivers an all that and STILL it fucks up like this, and it's annoying the fuck out of me. Any help?

EDIT:

Forgot, when I preform a direct 3D test with directX 9.0c, I get this

At first, I bought a usb 2.0 hub with 4 ports, plugged it into my comp, and off it went, merrily along its way. (without installing anything)

Then I had to format my system, and now, it says, install drivers to use usb 2.0. So I try, and it says SP1 or higher required and that with SP2, it's included.

So I format again, with SP2, and STILL it doesn't freaking work. What gives?
