The Flobots are an alternative rock/rap group from Denver, Colorado, formed in January 2005. To date, they have released two albums. The Flobots found mainstream success with its major label debut Fight With Tools (2007), featuring the single "Handlebars", which became a popular hit on Modern Rock radio in April 2008

Quote from: Wikipedia
Flobots formed as a side project for the two lead emcees, Jonny 5 (not to be confused with former Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5) and Brer Rabbit. They teamed up with violist Mackenzie Roberts, bassist Jesse Walker, guitarist Andy Guerrero (from funk band Bop Skizzum), trumpet player Joe Ferrone (also from Bop Skizzum), and drummer Kenny Ortiz. By the year's end, their unique instrumentation and politically and socially charged music became popular in their hometown of Denver, and the Flobots became a full time project.[1]

Quote from: Flobots Webpage
When a pair of intelligent, visionary emcees joins forces with a battle-hardened, groove-fusing rhythm section, a classically trained violist, and a jazz trumpet player, the result is a sound that explores and expands the frontiers of live hip-hop.  Progressive in both style and message, the band's ability to drop from symphonic rock-infused crescendos into stripped-down string-laden breakbeats has earned Flobots a reputation for both originality and authenticity.

Flobots are a politically motivated Alternative Rock/Rap group, with a full band including trumpeter and violinist creating sounds consisting from a sort of Jazziness to funk to full on kickassrocksoloherecomesbadasshiphoprymesyo.

Alright, I'm gonna try to make this topic more of a discussion than about ME and MY problems. So I'm going to post what I'm going through in tags and you can read it or just go on to the rest if you so choose.

There are a wide variety of human emotions: sadness, happiness, hatred, anger, love etc...

Have you ever found that you couldn't feel a certain emotion? Have you ever thought that because of your inability to feel a certain way you aren't "normal"? Is it hard for you to mourn a death or love someone because of this?

Basically talk about a situation that you've been in where you couldn't express yourself emotionally and how it effected you.

So, while roaming youtube looking for a video of a song I really liked I came across this lady.

she does covers of Flobots "Handlebars", Dredg's "Bug Eyes", and a few more. As well as some original stuff too.

This topic is basically about posting some cool musical stuff you've found on the internet through youtube, myspace, or any other community based web sites. What you think about the artists and the music they produce.

Do you think this sort of thing is great for networking and artistic growth? Or are the few diamonds you might find really worth digging through the GIGANTIC HEAP OF FAGGY INDIE SHIT that these communities attract or what?

So I've been playing the same MMORPG for the past 3 or 4 years and decided to try something new.

So I bought the newest FF11 expansion for the Xbox and an Xbox hardrive off of ebay because my brother didn't have one. I'm not gonna get the HD for a few days so I can play yet but I need to know some things about FF11.

Like I know there is no pvp and its turn based?

How is the game in general is it easy to lvl and get good gear?

is it fun?

Whats the community like?

And how the fuck do you play it on xbox? Is it easy or should I look into getting one of those keyboards?

How do you communicate with other people without a keyboard?

So basically talk about FF11, especially on Xbox 360 and if there are any GWers on it leave me your info and maybe we can meet up or somethin

So I've got alot of time on my hands for the next few months and I've been wanting to learn how to play.

I want to get an acoustic guitar, I really don't mind shilling out a little bit of dough for something good but I don't really want to spend over 250$ if I don't have to. Knowing how alot of you guys play and know alot about this sort of stuff some advice and suggestions what to get would be cool.

keep in mind

- I haven't played very much
- Don't want something too big because I might be traveling with it later
- want something thats pretty versatile, meaning I can get a good range of sound with it. I'm not really sure how what size will sound or what brand sounds like what.
- Don't know jack shit about brand names except VERY little about fender

I'm probably gonna need a tuner, picks, and other shit like that too. Some advice on what sorts of strings and picks would be cool too. And some advice on how to learn.

So after about 195 days of sailing on one of the worst ships I could have possibly gotten stuck on, I'm back after sailing around Japan, China, and Korea on a psuedo US military ship for the last six months..

You guys can ask me any questions about what I've been doing and have seen the last half year if you want.

I'm gonna try to post lots now that I'm back and keep at least a third of them sober.
