Legend of Zelda

Rm2k3 Remake

After some time of working on this, ripping resources, all that easy-to-do nonsense, I've decided that I'm just not feeling the urge to work on this anymore, almost like it was doomed from the start. If you can find a use for anything here, that'd be great. Tragically, not even the first dungeon was completed, though a fair amount of work was put into it and the world map.

Screenshots

Changing equipment will change the graphic of the hero, event graphic, and face graphic, while changing swords will change battle graphic and how much damage is done on field enemies, as is true to the original game.

Slimes : 1 HP
Bats : 1 HP
Skeletons : 3 HP
Pigs : 3 HP

Sword : 1 HP per attack
White Sword : 2 HP per attack
Magic Sword : 3 HP per attack

Attacking has been set to either the action key or the space bar to work around the sticky key problem that many games have, since all others insist on using shift instead.

Many animations have been created for each item picked up, minus rupees, keys, and hearts, as these would normally disappear after picking up.

Those familiar with the original Legend of Zelda (should be everyone) will notice the work put into making each scene as close to the game as possible, minus the fairy fountain, which was admittedly my most hastily made animation.

If at any time you walk through the side of the map, you will know that that was where I stopped working on the world map, so just walk back out of the black to the field.

Also, I have left the testing events in the game, such as the one in the first cave where you obtain the sword. This one can be used to get the white and magic swords, and the blue and red rings. There is also another test event in the shop at map "4-11" where you can obtain rupees. The counting for each map works as if the lowest left map is "1-1", or Row 1 Field 1.

Began : Nov 14th, 2008
Ended : Mar 6th, 2010

Deep Fried Questing Grind

Just the kind of comedy you need!

Storyline

Storyline? What storyline? You play as your typical band of nobodies in their quest to do whatever they are asked to do.

Screenshots

There's money to be had anywhere, you just have to be creative.

Undoubtedly a kick to the grapes of any Final Fantasy fanboy.

Who'dathunk that a D&D player could be so vicious.

He speaks the truth!

Information

<Name may change later>

The world was thrown into chaos by a dark fiend. The people cry out for help to be saved from this dreaded fate. Who ya gonna call? GHOSTBU- Nevermind...

As should be the nature of all comedy games, this one does not take it seriously, by any stretch of the imagination. Be forewarned that this game will contain everything from language, references to many subjects, sexual hubbub, and everything in-between. There's even going to be at least one cameo appearance of a non-video game person, WOOHOO! Therefore, I would rate this game M for Mature, though you can be the judge of that.

Run for it, Mr. Big T, someone's comin' fer your throne!

It is without doubt that this game will end up hitting every cliche on the way down the tree, but hopefully that will be achieved in hilarious fashion, and not a game-breaking grumble-fest. If you find anything of this game funny, I would love to hear it.

F.A.Q

Q. What possessed you to think a game like this would be a good idea?
A. A bathroom break and a walk home in the snow is all it takes.

Q. Why does your game contain so many unfunny, childish jokes?
A. Why doesn't yours? Sometimes, a little prepubescent humor is just what we need.

Q. When will this game be done?
A. It will be done when it's done.

Though I haven't seen this since 2000 at latest, and this game belonged to one of my old friends, I am still attempting to remember what it was called. It seemed like it was a sort of strategic war game based in medieval times that gave you control of a small army to move across the world or continent, I can't remember, to fight back monsters that inhabited it. One detail that stuck out very clearly was a way to summon fiends. I believe you were given a choice of what to summon, and then after said choice, a small scene would play of the fiend rising from the cauldron with a message underneath saying something like, "You have learned how to summon (name)." This scene would play in the same graphics that the rest of the game ran in (no CG cutscene).

I can't remember the name of the game, or even the company that might have produced it, as I only laid eyes on it once in my life.

Tales from Zilmurik II: Salvation's Aftermath

"Life would struggle if it is thrown into balance. Likewise, they cannot exist without the other.
Light and Darkness are both essential to life. But one must always possess greater strength.
Such is the paradox of mortals."

Storyline

Following the story of the first game, the Dark One, Chaos, has been defeated, but his warning of the end of the world still echoes through the minds of those who removed his filth from the world. It has been five years since that day, and the physical scars of the upcoming catastrophe are beginning to show as the world begins to split apart. What can be done to bring some manner of balance to this world? Can it only be saved through a revival of the "Dark"? If the "Dark" is revived, would the world be restored, or left in its current state of decay?
Screen Shots

The World Map is currently still in a W.I.P state.

How truly tragic. It appears that we will never again hear "I am rich. Take some gold."

"I tell ye. There be gold in them hills." The first cave in the first game has gotten a small addition, as miners have carved away at it in the pursuit of treasures.

The old world makes a triumphant return. But what's this? A tear? Good lord, NOOOOO!

Features

• Fable-esque gameplay. Through your actions in game, you can choose which alignment to associate yourself with, Light or Dark, with events and endings that reflect your choices, such as your communication with humans and monsters alike, and the tears in the world.
• Character classes are adjusted when a switch in alignment occurs, though an initial choice is also acceptable. Serving for the Light, your melee character goes from being a Warrior to a Paladin, while your magic character switches from Thief to Priest. Aiding the Dark, your melee character becomes a Death Knight, while your magic character becomes a Magician.

I've tested this by going between a game and notepad, and "enter" works perfectly in notepad but not in the game. This tends to happen only once in a while, but does anyone know the cause of this problem?

After reading about this happening to someone else while playing an rm2k/3 game, it got me wondering (and a little worried). What could cause something like this? Is it the program or the individual's computer? Has anyone else come across this error before? Just to make it clear, this error supposedly crashes your game and then clears the data in your Save## file on the computer to the point that it doesn't show up when you open the game. Usually an error such as this wouldn't be a problem for shorter games, but for those games that clock 20-50+ hours it may discourage others from attempting to play the game again.

One of the only things I have never been able to understand about the Rpg Maker 2003 is setting up different battle types such as Pincer, Back Attack, and Surround. What I want to know is how do I set it up so that any random battle will choose between these automatically without having to be your typical "Boss Battle" (if possible). Do I have to set up the Monster Placement to "Automatic" instead of "Manual"? Granted, I haven't seen any games that actually have this set kind of thing set up (outside of boss battles), so I have no previous experience with this.

This has been driving me batty for quite some time, but does anyone know what the name of the song of the Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages/Seasons trailer is?

Also, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong sub-forum, but this seemed more like a music thread than a video game thread.

Dawning of a Dragon's Valor

Storyline

The land once again is brought to its balance with the revival of the Goddess Nyfrulia and the Dark One, Chaos. The mortals' cry for guidance has been answered, but at what cost? The world has been restored, but the scars of the past are still evident. Many centuries have passed since the catalyst that threatened to end all that exists occurred, though the shadow of ill fate still lingers on the horizon as a man slays his master and assumes power of his military.

Burdened by loss, this man seeks to end the pain that he has been forced to endure for the past twenty years by any means necessary. The first target of his wrath was the prosperous village of Hronulum which now rests below the shifting waves of the sea. Not even the destruction of his pain's origin could still the agony. Sacrificing his soul up to Chaos in the promise of a gift of a meaningful life, he has cursed himself to this existence, to serve as a hell-hound in his master's desire to call forth absolute balance to the world.

He is not alone in this world, as the spawns of Chaos guide him. Over time, he wishes to throw away his ties to their demonic kin, but his essence has been corrupted beyond redemption, leaving his eyes glowing crimson through its enslavement to the Dark. He then turns to the Goddesses in an attempt to repent for his sin, though his calls go unanswered.

Unlike this man who has been made a victim of the hand of fate, a dragon rises from his life of tranquil days to put an end to the turmoil brought forth by those who serve the Dark.

Screen Shots

The grand world... well... most of it, anyway.

While fishing, you may be lucky enough to catch a treasure chest.

Rent a horse to save yourself the trouble of encountering the dreaded random battles. Also useful for avoiding terrain damage.

Explore lush forests, barren wastelands, volcanic mountains, scorching deserts, underwater domains, frozen fields, hidden villages only accessible with blessed gemstones, or the darkest recesses of the Void.

Riding in a mine cart can be a useful way to find treasure and proceed into the depths of the earth.

Appease the gods themselves to further your summoning ability.

Battle as whomever you please, whether it be a dragon, pirate, cat, elf, ninja, or even those who serve the opposing force.
What am I working on now?
