So I realized I may have only mentioned this game in passing without drawing much attention. Not only did I compose much of the soundtrack (With some help from Wolframtones) but am involved in crafting the plot; please check out the demo! In time more work will be forthcoming, but  the artist/programmer is  taking a break and focussing on his Nuzlocke comic. Enjoy!

OK so I'd been using the random generator at  Wolframtones to cook up  midis as a starting point fo rmusic, including nearly all my contributions to the soundtrack for Kirastar: The Polybius Problem, a game i've been involved in.. But the newest verison of Quicktime'-one of the required programs- doesn't seem to be recognized by the site, though the previous version is. I''d really like not to have any security holes but it's also frustrating not to be able to use the program. I've writtne Wolfram giving feedback and asking them to pupdate the site's compatibilty, but don't know if they will and would like advice here...

I was recently on the Dosbox site and they noted that from today until the end of the 20th a game called Torchlight is available for free on GOG.com. After reveiwing some information and discovering Torchlight is a FATE-like game, I decided to make na account and grab it. I thought you might want to check it out.

Hey guys, long time no see. SoAnyway, sincemy MCaffe Security Suite was set to expire in afew days I switche dto Avast - but I want to set up an addtionallayer of protection against mkalware and spyware, preferably free. There are so many different programs that scan (and in some cases, actively block) spyware and malware to choose from, and I'm getting rather bewildered. I rread reviews and asked advice of feel RMN emeber,s but realize i don't realy know their qualfications. Since many of yu actualy wokr in technical support I thught you might have some special insight into waht programs work the best...

Recently I listened to a version of the Touhou medley below, and, having picked up the midi, began re-arranging  and rendering it, a task which the author allowed. I had recently started experimenting with soundfonts, and soon found an arrangement i liked. I whipped up a picture, used Movie Maker to create a video, and put it up on Youtube. Check it out!

I've been working on some patterns,; some originally for use as panoramas or graphical elements in games, but I realize that many of them are art in their own right; others are simply art. Some I'm also putting up on my Deviantart page as well. Feedback welcomed!

This one's used in the Chain Game to represent the GODS-I's visual rendering of higher dimensions BTW.

I know it's possible to  break or reset region lock on the PS2 slimline, but is it safe? What's the best way to do it- disk swap, program, what? I'd been thinking about importing Sword of Etheria but heard there are risks to the varied methods  and have little experience in this kind of thing.

As you know the Chain Game has ground to a halt; One option is to share what we have with other sites such as RMN, thus allowing new blood in. Of course this means it's no longer SW exclusive . . .
What do you think?

OK guys, time to share some of my works.  First, a riff on Moonlight Sonata- some of you may have heard this in midi form but the conversion to MP3 (via this neat little program) has improved it greatly.  Enjoy! (Note this was done with the Soundfont Conversion option- Ithere's also a direct recording which I may do for some.)

While mulling over the Chain Game I came up with an idea about a vampire TV producer who keeps running into supernatural events when he just wants to be left alone to do his late night TV show, called Vampire 8. Here's the theme song -a tad too close to the mike,I admit.
 I'll re-record it later.

OK guys I need some help here. An old acquaintance has invited me to a party to see some people I used to know. However, I really have no interest in either going to the party or reconnecting with these people and I'd like to make it clear without hurting their feelings.  How do I tell them they're ancient history without offending them or the host? Do you think I'm making a mistake by cutting the ties?

Does "Thank you but I'm not interested.
I wish the best for all of you.
Goodbye and good luck" work?

An article about people who fell in love via WoW- please read before replying.

I think this is a really interesting idea- I wouldn't have expected that people interacting via avatars would have forged connections strong enough to actually lead to real-world romance-at least, so strongly. Lord knows I've crushed on chat buddies. The idea of avatars serving as intermediaries to cover the player's flaws, yet the players not being disappointed when encountering the reality behind the screen, is definitely something to think on.

I was poking around the internet and came upon this manga known as Honoo no Usagi Senshi (Rabbit Fire Warrior) but there's very little info about it anywhere. The wierd cover got my attention though. Anyone ever heard of it?

This article below seemed just too serious to be relegated to "What's on Your Mind."

More young people are winding up in nursing homes

To summarize, the number of nursing home residents under 65, though a minuscule fraction of the total, is rising. These 20-to-40-year olds usually arrive there after crippling injuries- often because their parents are unable, physically or financially, to take care of their injuries, or because insurance  has sent them there to recover, as it costs less than a long hospital stay.   Not only does this put stress on the elderly residents disturbed by the youth's much faster habits, but the young men and women become depressed from isolation and being surrounded by the old and dying. Many such homes try to accommodate their new charges,  but it's not easy.

IceManual's request for overlays inspired me to try my hand at making some.  I believe they''ll work- they're the correct color and size levels for Rm2k3- unless I missed converting a few- and have visual interest as well as dark and light segments. I'll admit I'm not quite clear whether overlays must be pure B&W to be effective, or if they can contain varied shades of gray, like these images.
Feedback welcome.
