Hey all,

I recently completed a four-minute animation for beyondblue, Australia's national depression initiative. It's a four-minute piece outlining one of their new programs for high school teachers and students.

You can find the animation here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsKlOJM__U8

It's a hybrid digital animation produced with Flash and After Effects. Took roughly two months of solid work to produce - take a look and let me know what you think!

Here's an animation demo reel I assembled late last year - http://vimeo.com/16670417

Take a look and feel free to leave your thoughts.

I've just bought some Canadian PSP games, and it occured to me that they might be region locked. Does the PSP have a region lock? Have newer versions of the handheld fixed this issue? Is there a way to get around the region lock?

I'm sorry if these questions have already been asked here but I am in a rush and have limited net access at the moment.

My sister's computer is having some virus and spyware trouble. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but can anyone direct me to some general-purpose software than could detect and safely remove these things?

Apparently Nintendo developed a little adapter for the Game Boy Micro/Nintendo DS handhelds in 2005 that is capable of playing MP3s and MP4 movies using a 1gig SD card. I've been checking around and apparently it wasn't released outside of Japan, but I'm really interested in buying one. Can anyone refer me to some good online ordering sites for things like this?

To keep this topic from being a waste of time, post about whatever cool hardware pieces you are looking for as well.

In class today we were deconstructing short films for analysis and assessment and all of that business, pretty much like a normal Friday for me. But we watched this one short film, ran for about 11 minutes are so and it was intense. I can't remember the name or director right now but it was an incredible event for me, and it's the first time I was ever emotional during a film. Basically it was a response to the 9/11 attacks, but the way in which it was delivered was disturbing and sad and just fucking hopeless. It was pretty much a black screen for the most part, different sounds building up, news reports, half-heard chants, intense shit like that. Then some footage of the planes striking the towers, you know, everything you've seen before.

But then it got to this one section of phone calls from the people who died in the event, played over shots of bodies falling out from the towers... Just really fucking intense and mortifying, presented the whole event in a way I'd never even thought about. Just seeing someone so desperate to live that they would jump to certain death sooner than die in the crash or fire... Fffffff Jesus. It was really powerful and I felt absolutely shitty the whole time, just confronted with all this. I actually had to leave after it was shown and collect myself. This is pretty odd since I am never really affected to that degree.

Anyway share similar experiences in film that made you happy, sad, nervous, etc.

Ramael will be gone for an indeterminate amount of time because he's going to another city for a while. His activities will include: seeing Daft Punk live, finding a new place to live and catching up with a MYSTERIOUS GW MEMBER. Ohohohoho.

Anyway he doesn't really know how long it's gonna take to get his shit together, so it could be a short absence or a long one. It really depends on a number of things. He catches a flight tomorrow after he finishes his final shift at work, so yeah... That's his story.

Hobbies include tennis, computer games and referring to himself in the third person.

I want to spend some cash on a MIDI keyboard... But I have no idea where to go first. I'm looking around the net right now but I would also like to hear some input from you guys. So, if anyone has/knows about a good model, post here! Also, just chat about MIDI keyboards or keyboards in general.
