So I've always had an admiration for comics, but I never so much really got into them, so that's basically what I'm looking for here, advice. I was wondering if anybody could give me a starting place to look into for DC comics. Things I'm interested in reading about are Batman, Flash, and the Justice League, or any other general recommendations anybody can give me. Any help appreciated. :)

Hi, I've been using winamp for a long time, and decided to try out foobar, and I have really liked it so far. But one feature that I'm really missing is being able to dock winamp at the top of my screen, and having it autohide. I've tried googling it and looking for something like this and couldn't find any options. Does anybody know if this is possible in foobar?

So I've seen some interest in this game in the forums here and there, yet no topic, so I decided to make one. :) Played for the first time yesterday in the open beta, and I am really enjoying the game so far.

One thing I'm wondering about for this game is whether or not I should make a guild, or join a guild. I have quite a few real life friends and work buddies that will be playing this as well, and I would like to keep all of us together (on a PvP server), whether it be forming a guild or joining an already well established one.  So how many of you GWers plan to play this game/are in the open beta? Any of you have plans to create a guild of your own?

I've got to head out for now, sometime this weekend I'll update this topic with more information and my experiences so far with the beta.

Heya, I've been playing around with wordpress, and I've taken a liking to it and I might try to make something a little bit more, to keep an archive of my programming/game making/whatever-current-project-I-am-working-on progress. I think I've settled on a base theme, but I have modified it a bit already, and am looking for more help in the future.

The current website is http://www.grogrog.net.

Help I'm looking for:

I like the style of the blog, but here are the main things I want to have added or modified:

- More readability in the article area. A static background behind the article area, or maybe a semi transparent image behind it, just so the diagonal lines aren't distracting from the article itself.

- Where it says on the article "Filed under: category", I would like to remove that, and have it placed at the end of the article.

- A friend is working on a character sketch for me to put at the top right above the header, and I need a way of putting the image there. Think basically an image above the search bar.

- I also want to have a poll to the right of the article, with possibly a google ad below it in the future. I already have google ads enabled, but obviously I won't need to use them for a while. But just to get everything cohesively put together. :)

Compensation:
I assume most of this is quite easy to do, but I'm also looking for somebody who'd be willing to work with me now and then if they'd be willing to give suggestions or fix things up. So at this point I'm thinking of offering a premium membership to you, or somebody of your choice. If that's not your cup of tea then maybe I could papal the equivalent or something like that. But I'd rather help support GW as well. :)

---

Any general advice or suggestions would be good as well. If you are interested in giving me a hand, post here or PM me. If you want to talk a bit more on MSN just send me a PM. Hope I didn't miss anything.

I am looking to buy a laptop to replace my desktop (temporarily, but i will get a desktop later on) and current laptop. I'm looking for something like this:

15.4"
2+ghz dualcore
2 gb of ram
a DX10 video card
160gb+ hdd

I want to make a good purchase so I am putting time into this, seeing what I can find out. I'm not sure what brand to go with, or whether to go AMD or Intel.

I will be using this laptop to it's capabilities, to play stuff like Age of Conan when it comes out and other games of the sort, as well as applications such as 3ds max, flash and photoshop. I'm in Canada, so a Canadian store would be awesome if you are going to do direct links. As of now I can't think if anything I'm missing, so go go go!

Here is one laptop that I currently have in mind:

So this is my setup:

I have rogers cable, which is supposed to be an 8 meg connection (I need to run some tests because I don't think I'm getting anywhere close to that). I have a motorola modem, a linksys router (WRT54Gv6) with custom firmware (DD-WRT). 3 computers on the network, all xp, two wireless, one wired (my moms). Going wired is not an option for me (except for testing purposes)

The major thing I'm looking for right now is some kind of tool that lets me monitor whats using bandwidth on my network and any sort of thing that could help me test what's happening on my network, so I could restrict certain things to make it so gaming or browsing would have priority.

I will probably update this topic with more information as I get pissed off/stuck on trying to make my network less gay, for lack of a better word.

I'm looking to buy a portable hdd, and was wondering if anybody has any suggestions. I currently have a 160gig portable hdd, but its a quite large and clunky and requires an ac adaptor.

Anybody have any suggestions for a portable hdd that is fairly small, doesn't need a power supply, and has decent amounts of space (preferably over 100, but 80 or so might be tolerable).

I was thinking something along the lines of this:

But if anybody has any better suggestions that'd be great. :)

I frequently use VNC to remote desktop to home home computer, which has a dual monitor setup. The problem is that I only see the primary display when I VNC to my home computer. Anything on the right monitor is an absolute bitch to get to, and I'd rather just have a slider bar that lets me slide over to my secondary display. My friend has this setup enabled (although he doesn't know how he got it to work) and I've tried all I can think of, and searches turned up to be not to helpful for me. Anybody here have any suggestions on what I could possible do with this setup?

I'm pretty terrible at finding music I like, or maybe my taste in music is just bad, as I can't really find a whole lot of stuff I really like half of the time, and when I do, I tend to kill it by overlistening to it. Whenever I find a song I like, I check out the band, I tend to not really like all that much from them.

Here are a few bands I've consistently listetened to in the past:

System of a Down
Sum 41
Billy Talent
Rise Against

I've also liked a fair bit of Jimmy Eat World, Papa Roach, Eminem and Black Eyed Peas (dont listen to anymore). Some other random shit I currently have on my MP3 player is Rage Against the Machine, Weezer, and Disturbed. I also like some techno (I have a bit of Daft Punk too)

But I'm pretty much tired of everything I have, I'm just looking for any sort of advice on anything people might suggest I listen to, whether it be bands or just single songs. I need new music, period. If I wasn't so Canadian I would try something like Pandora out to try to find some new music.

Any help is appreciated!   :)

Okay so my setup is basically this. Modem and router in basement, broadcasting upstairs to my bedroom to my computer. I then have a "network bridge" setup linking my wireless connection and local connection together, allowing me to connect via ethernet my 360 to computer to get internet.

This way has worked pretty well for me, but I'm wondering if there is a better setup I could try. With this method my computer now takes maybe 10-30 seconds to get internet, and recently my 360 has not been getting connected right away to live. I think THAT issue occured after I DMZ'd my 360 in my router, and statically assigned the 360s IP (which I did to fix the nat issues halo was having).

So, any suggestions?

So I am looking to buy a cellphone but I really have no clue where to start.

I was wondering if anybody had any recomendations or suggestions on what I should get? I live in Canada if that makes any difference, and would prefer not to get a contract. But I also would like a pretty nice phone, something that looks nice and actually is good quality phone, My price range is probably within 100-200$.
What do you guys like / dislike about your cellphones (if you have them) and what would you recomend?

After a short scare with the intros of Bleach recently, where they had an intro that made it seem like they were going to be out of fillers:

and then changing the animation to the intro, but keeping the song, which was basically a promotion to a (likely shitty movie) rather than a cop out.

After checking Wikipedia today, I found out something very nice.

Quote
Arrancar arc

110   "Reopening of the Substitute Business! The Terrifying Transfer Student"
"Daikō gyō saikai! Kyōfu no tenkōsei" (代行業再開!恐怖の転校生) - January 10, 2007

Finally Bleach is out of fillers! I started reading the post-soul society arc manga, and I found it really awsome, so awsome I decided to make myself stop reading it so I could watch it when it came out in anime format.

Now some of you have probably lost interest in Bleach, but I am still a very big fan, and I am pretty much just pretending the fillers never happened. >.>
