Thanks for the offer, but I'm really not that good yet. I hardly know any JavaScript / PHP. I'm still trying to get better at positioning stuff with CSS first.

Yeah but I mean more like is it legal. I thought I read somewhere that you can't use resources from any RPG Maker in another engine.

When I was on GW in 2005 I was like 15 and I was a total tool then too. I think a lot of people who visited back then were still kids.

And yeah, trying to learn it.

Does anyone know if you can use the Rm2k resources in Rm2k3 if you bought both versions?

I meant more like WordPress. I was hoping there would be some people left here who were involved in the development of the website. But I did some research and found out Bart wrote his own backend.

I'm a newbie web designer and lately I've been looking at the old GW website from 2005. Does anyone know if that website used a CMS back then? There was quite a lot of content even back then, news articles, design articles, recent game updates. Did Bart write his own backend for all that stuff?

A vast array of artificial worlds vanishing into the spirit world of Internet past - a terrible sight to behold indeed. How much can be saved, recorded before time makes its cruelty known to these poor, forsaken games?

Who knows. Truth be told if I could I'd rewind time ten years back. When we were still making Rm2k games, when we were still excited about each other making Rm2k games, and when GamingW was still the central community forge of all those kids who wanted to make their own games, tell their own stories. Even though I'm young, I feel damn old when I think back. It's a shame the good old days flew by seemingly so quickly.

I figured there may have been a few oldbies around here who hoard the classic Rm2k / Rm2k3 games just like me. Rpgmaker.net and stuff is pretty much exclusively about XP and VX, and I doubt anyone there will have it. But maybe I'll give it a shot.

It's an old Rm2k game. When I loaded it up today I noticed some graphic files were damaged and it can't be played.

When I tried going to the website of the authors (Coffeehat Studios) I noticed it was gone.

So anyone still have this floating around somewhere who could upload it? Was pretty much my favorite Rm2k game next to Final Fallacy.

Yeah, there were parts i was laughing my ass off, in tears haha.  Guess it takes ten years to forget what you created is like so you can replay it fresh :p

Haha yep that's true. I remember when I replayed it after years I laughed my ass off at the guards noticing the wyvern and going "Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's... Actually, it is a bird." Totally forgot about that

Man I gotta give Bart some credit for his webdesign skillz. I thought GW was actually a rather easy site, but I don't see how he created that all on his own without the use of PHP and MySQL databases. Just how old is that guy?

By the way I've been screwing around with Content Management Systems like Drupal and WordPress, you wouldn't believe the difficulty of something so seemingly simple as re-creating GW's layout.

So just wondering, is there copyright on the GamingW name and the old website from 2007?
no copyright as far as I know. it's trademarked of course, but you already knew that.

Well what does that mean exactly if it's trademarked? Let's say a random dude decides to take the layout from 2007 and use it to build a new GamingW. Would that be legal?
Why on earth would you do this?

Just hypothetically
