The Archives are different because they are read only I guess, but they're just visible for logged-in users, right???

If so, this function exists already!

yeah i would love to have a spot to put game reviews of things of things i don't actually like that people don't actually care about.

i made a neocities page for this reason but ... i didn't do it. chances are i still won't do it but i would love to write something idk... twice or thrice maybe?

i have work to do for real but i may invest a couple of days or something into rpgmaker just to share the same space as the luminaries in this thread / the saltw establishment in general and to actually have a single solo-developed game completed and under my belt which is something i've been lacking since forever

QUESTION:

are there any dungeon crawlers with a width to height ratio of less than 1:1?

(VERTICAL DUNGEON CRAWLER? TATE MODE DUNGEON CRAWLER? PORTRAIT MODE DUNGEON CRAWLER?)

please speak up if you know...

i don't know if your outline shows the finished product or if it will be that way 'live,' but IMO people like to talk and you can get far more than 45m of conversation about any decent topic. i would edit after the fact rather than hold people to 10-15m sessions but... again it's MO.

i think you're reading too much into what i wrote. i was just pointing out what i thought was dumb about the image (that it equates being made fun of for being an awkward/nerdy male with actual sexism in media that women complain about).
didn't even mean to direct it all at you, you're just the last post in the chain.

"a gamer guy physically shaking, weeping with rage as he thinks about feminism. this is the 21st century. here is your tron bike"

someone pointed me towards this image for how stupid it is, some guy trying to show articles on how men just as equally suffer sexism in gaming. i don't know what his point is but it's pretty lol anyway

i guess it might be trolling, it's pretty awful to think people are this bad!!

getting called a loser for fucking an anime girl body pillow is the truest form of oppression

dressing up the ridicule of the less-socially-able (also idiots) as a feminist act is the truest waste of a positive social movement.

does anyone ever think about why people invest so much energy and so many words into separating themselves from a stupid, meaningless demographic? at least kotaku makes money from it (the picture above is 'wrong' only in that kotaku are neither feminists nor do they hate 'male gamers,' they simply understand that encouraging anger from their reader-base (trolling) drives hits).

the best way to say I'M NOT LIKE THEM is to simply never talk about them.

saw the politically abominable 'skyfall'

plus

the actually pretty good 'looper' (should have only had 1 sci fi concept though)

EDIT: SELF QUOTE
Quote
saw the politically abominable 'skyfall'
FOLLOWED BY SPOILERS:
the movie justifies the use of secret, violent, accountability-free tactics by mi6 for any/all missions on the fact that someone they themselves trained, financed, enabled, and betrayed is now an enemy, along with other 'shadowy' and 'unknown' forces. judi dench is a rumsfeld/bush_sr/bush_jr hybrid in this story. the only thing that sets bond apart from the villain is his patriotism ("britishness"), sexuality, and lack of surname 'rodriguez.' just totally insane how the endorsement (or ironic criticism?) of the u.s. war on terror flew over everyone's heads. furious google searching led me to:

http://sorrywehurtyourfield.wordpress.com/2012/12/08/review-of-skyfall-2012/ and only this

That's not a bad idea, I guess I can do that. I'm not gonna password it and then send a PM to everyone tho f*** that.
I knew you wouldn't, but I was sitting there at 4am thinking up the ultimate (yet fair) information protection scheme and I went where my mind took me. Speaking of which, I wonder if there is a living in that. I would make a good anti- private eye.

Further idea: make the entirety of the archives password protected as well, and pm the password to every current member and no futures. (it could always be requested). If the site is no longer GamingW the rpgmaker site there is no reason to preserve those 2009 and earlier posts for new members. People are only joining for the bonzi buddy thread, honestly.

excepting game and demo and related forums i suppose, as they actually have a function and contain actual information.

I would edit the above post but my phone is not being cooperative. I would suggest making the entirety of the archives viewable only to members, especially since user accounts are migrating and ESPECIALLY if we are getting a functional search again (not sure if this is the case, though it would be nice). Given that the entire 'hipster oldbie' thread is focused on our endless teenage regrets, I think this would be a pretty popular decision and respectful of the thousands of members who are m.i.a.

Dada, when this happens could we please make some old forums viewable only to logged-in members? I know you want to keep archives whereas I would say BURN IT ALL DOWN but there is really no reason at all that the insane shit in jone forum, people's porn requests in the happy zoo, etc need to be Google-searchable when they never were never actually public even in the site's heyday.
