Well. MIB's body was thrown into the light by Jacob, so it's safe to assume the light killed MIB, and
stuck him into a state that's not necessarily alive nor dead (some sort of smokey soul state, which
makes somekind of far-fetched sense if you take into account the whispers). Actually, at the very least
he's been seperated from his own physical body. So much is made clear.

Since almost everything in the series revolves around some kind of energy (the light, electromagnetism)
I'm pretty sure that the smokey-powers stopped functioning when the light disappeared (cork). This
would also mean that smokey would've been gone if he hadn't had locke's body, since he has none
of his own.

Anyway, some of you have made sound arguments against the series (people have been doing so for
6 bloody years), but I still love it to death. I've been rewatching the series again, and I can't really
find fault in the storytelling (except for walts' constant reappearing and then being dismissed).

What I really like is that, in the last two to three seasons, they've been building up to a point where
even the finale can be interpreted differently than presented. Personally, I'm not satisfied with the
purgatory explanation, so I watched closer.

I have come to the belief that when they exploded jughead, on an island fueled by the Light energy
(which has to do with electro-magnesism and apparently time-travel), they still made the alternate
time-line. But now, it is also an alternate dimension, (Sounds quite daft, but Faraday's notes allude
to this) where the plane didn't crash. By the end of the series they find out about their 'other lives',
in the same way Desmond did while still on the island. (Christians choice of words - "you died" rather
than "You're dead" - might be some pointer)

I found a rather detailed theory matching mine on Lostpedia. It's quite interesting to read if you're
a fan of the series, and some of them aren't half insane. Lost is quite a philosophic series fueled by
character drama, so it's fitting they good parts open for own interpretation. I kind of would've been
disappointed if they hadn't.

I don't live in America so I don't really know anything about buying books over there.

What I do know is that there is a vast collection of Textbooks on www.demonoid.com
The tricky part is getting your hands on an account.

Kickasstorrents has some as well, but not nearly as many.

I love Jackie Chan. Sure, his movies aren't rocket science, but they're
plenty entertaining. New Police Story and Drunken Master were brilliant, the
Tuxedo was lame but wasted a couple of hours in a pleasant way.

On that note, I saw The Boys and Girls guide to Getting Down yesterday.
It's a Mockumantary/Guide to going out to clubs and parties. I got some
good laughs, the whole premise is borderline ridiculous but a lot of things
seem infuriatingly true.

Before that I saw 'You kill me', starring Ben Kingsley in a brilliant role
and Tea Leoni in a somewhat less annoying part that I'm used to. It's a black
comedy that is scarce on jokes and has a ridiculous story, but is somehow
really inviting. It made me laugh at points I didn't expect it to.

I also saw Nothing to Lose, an older film by Steve Oedekerk (Kung Pow), starring
Tim Robbins, Martin Lawrence and John McGinley (scrubs). I loved seeing the latter
in this role, found Lawrence to be his annoying self and noticed that Tim Robbins
was once again typecasted. Not at all a bad thing, really. Not necessarily brilliant,
but entertaining nontheless.

Loads of things.

If I went to an inn and bought it , I could affect the economy by changing inn prices.
Or if I destroyed a farm by catching everything on fire or poisoning the farmer , people would starve to death , and so I would add or subtract a variable from the population of X town.

It's really amazing what I could do with banking and such.

In my opinion , banks are the most simple , yet can be the most complex , considering that everything revolves around money and the needs of the people.

It is my understanding that a system like the one you describe is, while probably innovative
and pretty interesting, something that would devour a lot of development and programming
time. If your game doesn't mainly revolve around this system there's a good probability storytelling,
character development and additional gameplay will lose precious development time and thus its
place in the game.

I believe that an 'advanced idea' can be a quite simple implementation if it offers the player a new
or different experience. Something that can keep people interested.
I, for one, am very interested in games (even linear games) in which quests or storylines can
be played differently, resulting in different outcomes, different treasure or items, different skills
or even different quests.

Let it be said that what I suggest is not an easy implementation, merely an advanced idea that has
more to do with storyline than systems.

I've studied lying for some time (finding the tell-tales of a lie, studying oddities in movement when
people are lying and mistakes made when constructing a lie) and I must say this is rather obvious.
It works the same with actual lying, detachment from the subject, leaving details away and generally
shying away from the main subject at hand are things most common in lies.

Finding these things in drawings of lies is to be expected. I really hope they're not going to actually
use this though, seen how anyone who draws regularly will draw in a certain way, the test won't work
on actual artists and anyone knowing what's going on and familiar with lying will know what's he's
expected to do for people to believe him.

I can't believe they didn't come up with this sooner.

Oh you got some fancy paper saying you wasted 2 years of your pointless life listening to some bold faggot talk about old books and shit and analizing them.. when you can read by yourself and come up with your own definition?

Good for you, have you ever toguth of "suicide" or atleast coming to my town so I can beat the fuck out of you?

Truly, have you never even considered behaving like a decent human being, or does being a jackass
just give you *that* much twisted pleasure?

And Evangel, being a lit major doesn't give you the right to decide what country i'm from.

I read a lot of fiction, mostly among the lines of Fantasy (Robin hobb, jaqueline Carey, McIntosch)
or Mystery and Horror (King and stuff). Finished the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series a few
weeks back.

Other than that, I'm addicted to filling my head with senseless information, so I read lots of educational
books. These consist mostly of Oxford and Cambridge books, Books on literature (which is silly in many
ways), Psychology, Philosophy and all that Jazz.

Currently working through Dante's divine comedy. After that, I want to finish Voltaire's "Candide". It's
hilarious, a shame I never had time to finish it.

sorry buddy but unless your username reflects your job status i don't believe you'd spend more on just drugs than i spend to live. unless you can get alcohol and drugs dirt cheap in the netherlands or you're talking about little tiny minibar bottles

heh. You're absolutely right. You're also underestimating the power of being cheap.
Also, drugs here are cheap. Very cheap. Back in the days when I smoked a lot you'd be
able to get a gram of weed for about 5 euro. A bottle of cheap wiskey could be bought for 9.
an extacy pill costs about 2 euro's, depending on where you get them. I'd get 5 grams of
speed for 30. (prices for weed have gone up in the past 1,5 years. Fucking inflation)

The only real expensive drug we have is Coke, which goes for about 30 for the cheap stuff,
to about 50 for the regular stuff. I've never gone beyond that.

I think I used to spend around 15 euro's a day. I still spend as much, but it doesn't go to
drugs anymore. As to how I was able to gather the money... There are lots of ways to get
money when you're not of legal age. I've never done robbery or drugsdealing though.
(strange as that may or may not sound)

Hmm. I smoke cigs, i smoke weed, and i drink every night.

I used to drink a lot. like, half a bottle of wiskey a night. Which was fun, because i would also be stoned.
In weekends I'd drink even more, because that's what we did. I must have killed so many braincells back
then.
When I go to drum 'n bass parties, I take either E or Speed. Haven't done that in months because
apparently i have a heart condition. I used to not care, but realized I'd rather not die just yet.

I've been sobering up in the last year. I have one or two drinks a night and still smoke weed on occasion.
I want to quit the latter. I've also given up on harddrugs now, because other than LSD and Coke hard drugs
just aren't really fun.

I'll probably get some coke for New Years. It's been a tradition for a couple of years now. It's the only day
of the year I allow myself to do so because the white pony is really cute and makes me really happy.

Don't do drugs kids!  :woop:

As said, media standards are insane. Anyone who believes these standards to be correct should
not be able to get any kind of plastic surgery. Or maybe just get shot for idiocy.

I think I'm too fat, so I go to the gym and changed my diet to something more healthy. I don't
want to look like any thin fag on TV, it just makes my life easier (I've actually gotten more
self-assured and socially ept by losing weight).  I wouldn't do plastic surgery for any of this,
because it's fuckin' useless.

On the other hand, if you actually hate how you look or suffer socially because of how you look,
it should be an option. Live as thou wilt.

Just don't think having a plastic face is going to make you pretty or interesting. It won't.

Just watched the trailer. That's disturbing.

I'm not against these kinds of movies. I don't see why any sensible person would want to
watch this though.

Anyway, I prefer psychological terror. This just contains to much violence.

Why? are white people known for living longer? because ive never heard that.

Apparently it's genetical. It's like how women have a higher life expectancy that men for some reason.

It's said that it might also have something to do with cultural background, though in MJ's case that's
probably utter nonsense.

As far as I know, it's just an average. There are too many exceptions to think much of it.

I just got done watching the pbs jonestown documentary and I remember meeting a lady merchant mariner that was from guyana africa or the area where the encampment was set and she told me about it when I was in school training.

Seriously though, those people are a bunch of fucking idiots. And why do the hell do dumb people keep falling for psychos that use socialism as a baited guise to basically destroy them. I get that they were pretty heavily deprived of sleep and maybe even kind of brainwashed but you've got to be a complete fool in the first place to sit there and watch that fucked up shit going on and still go with it.

I also don't get why the survivors didn't bother running in there after most the guards killed themselves to pull that bitch fucker out by his goddamn hair so he can face a trial and rot in jail like the piece of shit deserved.

Bunch of dumb mothers too feeding poison to their babies. God I hate fucking people so much.

you've said it yourself. People are idiots. It's the only indisputable truth we have.

That said...

Last movies I watched were Monsters VS Aliens, Coraline, Get Smart, the Happening and The Uninvited.

Monsters VS Aliens was hilarious. I think this is my favorite dreamworks movie ever.
Coraline was... Interesting. It starts off with a slow pace, but halfway through, the movie gets better.
I'm a sucker for stop motion films, so I didn't mind so much. Other people might/will, however.

Get Smart... God, I hate that guy. My girlfriend made me watch this film. It then turned out she hated it
too, so we turned it off. I really fucking hate that guy.

The happening was interesting. The scenes were pretty damn funny, and even though
the movie was mostly environmentalist propaganda, i enjoyed it. Mark Wahlberg should stop looking like
Matt Damon though.

The Uninvited... It's a real damn shame i saw the entire plot twist coming from 10 minutes into the film.
Emily Browning is damn cute though, so I didn't mind very much. She looks lovely when she's

Not bugging the family of the deceased with nonsense and insults should not have to be 'respect'.
It should be common sense.

I guess I'm just a bit weird for feeling death is over dramatized by a lot of people. (yeah, I know that
sounds perfectly insane).

Respect is useless to the dead.

That said, I'm oddly thrown by this. Probably because he's actually inspired my last few songs.
Or maybe I subconsciously believed him to be too artificial to be able to die.

Meh. At least there are parts of him that will stay with us forever.

Does anyone actually watch 'terrible' movies if a bunch of people tell them its terrible beforehand?
I usually steer clear of those movies but I feel like I should have given them a chance or atleast tried watching them so I can tell people they are terrible.

I watch absolutely everything that's not completely ridiculous or aimed at small children. (I love disney though,
but that's a different story.)

I happen to like a lot of the movies critics shun and I have the awesome ability to find entertainment
value in almost every movie I watch. I normally just scan the plot summary to decide wether it sounds
interesting or not. That said, i wish I hadn't seen Rise and Ecks VS Sever.

Also, I agree with Mongoloid.

Other than that...

last movies I saw were Se7en (again), Perfume and Mulholland Drive. I have officially fallen in love with latter
movie.

Hmm. I normally don't go out of my way to make these lists, but since I've got nothing better to do...

In no particular order:

1. Cabaret
2. Lost in Translation
3. Finding Neverland
4. Battle Royale
5. Stardust
6. The Illusionist
7. The Nightmare Before Christmas/Corpse Bride (I love 'em both, though I might like TNBC a wee bit more.)
8. The Thing (Carpenters)
9. The Craft
10. A Clockwork Orange

EDIT: Though technically Animations, I think I should mention the Disney Classics. I'm a huge fan of
flicks like The Lion King, Aladdin, Robin Hood and Alice in Wonderland.

There is if that which shall not be named is stalking you.

:edit: Oh right, word filter.

His principal is Voldemort? Awesome.

P.s. Who cares if your principal goes to GW. Everyone knows principals hate children, so we can all guess who it is.

Also, when did we get a word filter?

Yes but in that case you need really clean music where the lyrics are really easy to hear which...isn't at all like the majority of jpop/rock/etc.  He'd be better of with something like recordings of folk music or something, that would probably be the most beneficial to him.

Actually, I've learned that learning Japanese through listening to music
is not as easy as it sounds. It's very hard to pay attention to the lyrics
when you're just listening, especially in Japanese. This way, the sounds
will register, but you'll hardly benefit from it in the long run.
Also, a lot of japanese music is written in poetry form.

I've gotten my hands on Pimsleurs Course Japanese, which has worked
much better for me. It might also help watching Japanese Live action films/
series, but only if you already have a good basic understanding of the language.

Other than that, never try to learn Japanese by watching anime. The sentences
and word combinations used in most anime are in no way suited to base
your Japanese fluency on.
