Nice game...me and some friends beat the game in 1 night. I like how we had infinity lives so you could just go on, otherwise it would be a little too extreme.

I don't know why I decided to download this, but I did and played through the entire game. For some reason it made me laugh real hard. Anyway there are a lot of passability errors in there, and the ending music is terrible but wel....Michael Bay the game was pretty awesome overall. What the hell.

Wow there's a lot of good stuff on this page. Especially swordofking128's shot looks mighty cool.

Hmm well I guess we could do the background ourselves, but since the rest of the Everglades is done by chipset it may clash as well. If it's too blurry in the end we may just do this part in chipset as well. We're definitely not doing an all custom game, since that would just be too time consuming. It took us a few months to rework everything up till now, so we won't do it again. Right now the focus lays on finally releasing a demo.

@Nightblade. Yeah I meant you've got some good stuff going on, and I will play it all over again.

So we worked on Project Ape Skewer again the entire evening. We're introducing Spy John the Chameleon, who explains how different colored teleports work.

Spy John and the colored teleports:

@Nightblade. Sick stuff, very detailed. You really did a good job on this desert. Too bad I lost my last Phantom Legacy save game, but I may even play it all over again.

@SDHawk. I like most of that chip, only the ground tiles are really bright. You might want to darken it a little, but that's just me.

Thanks for the comments guys. Well, the screen is a combination of customs, recolors, edits and rips. Faceset is drawn by Sijbren, and the cave wall is done by myself. The ground tiles and the stairs are well, semi customs. I used sprites from Necromortis as examples. The ceiling consists of recolored FF tiles. The flowers are from Terranigma (Great game!). The hero sprite is a Chrono Trigger monster with a mask editted on. The flower in the message box came from a Mac and Blue set I think.

@Neok. Yeah sick art dude. As expected from you, but still. Good stuff.

We've been working on Ape-Skewer quite a lot last week, so it's time for another screen on it. As you can see it's Ape ripping a Cassis from a Flower.

@Lennon. Sick Afro dude. I assume he is the main character of the game?

@Corfaistus. For some reason I like the old Goddess Temple better. I guess it's the white walls in combination with the snow.

A shot from what is now called "Project Mirage". It's a shoe house.

@ Ocean. Really nice work, it's good to see someone else doing a non RTP game in VX.

@Yeaster. Awesome dialogue system, as allways.

Edit:

@Doilok. Sorry, missed your screens at first. You may want to post the images theirselves in this topic. Otherwise they may be looked over, while the shots sure look decent. Is there any place where I can find uit more about your project?

@TJ Korran. That just has got a little to few details if you ask me. Even if you're going for something simple, I don't think the fence is that great. At least I'd try to broaden the bars a bit. Right now it just consist of black lines which are really close to each other. Props for trying some customs though, I wish you the best luck.

Yeah nice work Liman. I wouldn't change a thing about it.

So, is there still going to be a new screenshot topic or do we just keep on going in this one?

@SupremeWarrior (Bit late), Yeah I will at least try to darken the tables a little bit. At first I just tried to use as few colors as possible but it might just look better the other way.

For some reason I'm not able to see the screenshots on this page, so I'll check those later on.

Felt like posting some custom shit once again. I still have to add some NPC's though.

@Lennon, I still think you should do something with this fresh looking custom style you'd going on.

@Rockman, It's simple, but actually a brilliant idea. I think moving the balloons down so they overlap the ship for a bit might fix the perspective issues. Not sure though, but it could be tried.

I'll contribute one too. Checking out a font and a new faceset.

@Lennon
Simple and effective, I like it.

@Lennon. Wow your custom's are getting better, the long neck is really cool. I assume the sky panorama is a placeholder?
