Zack, the info thing in the top right corner... Is that Linux only, or is it for windows/windows has a similar (free) program?
Its Conky, and I'm pretty sure it won't compile in cygwin, but you could try.
You could always check out rainmeter for windows though, or samuraize but that rapes your RAM. (Conky is only using 25kb RAM :P)

I started using bblean and I think this is a setup I like. Its useful, informative, minimalistic, and very sleek looking. I plan on changing the colours around because it is the default and I think its too dark for my tastes, but as of now its about the functionality.
And leafo, what is that showing what you're playing. It looks very nice and I could use some more things like that on my desktop.
He is using foobar, with columns UI. His own buttons, and album list/art plugin. Highly customized
