It's not opening the that's the problem, but creating them. Wolframtones uses math- procedural generation?- to randomly generate midis in my browser using the parameters I specify, and unlike 'Music Mucker' it can be any type or time pattern. I find it quite useful as a starting point for game music. Currently the website, which requires both Quicktime and Java, works wiht QT versions up to 7.6, but after installing the newest, version 7.7, the site asks for the quicktime plugin even though it's already installed; even if I've removed npqt.dll and restarted to clear possible corruption(something that can happen when using the progrma in Firefox) i get he mseeage. Of course firegfox and avast also compian about vilnerablities if I use the older version.
I've writtien to MAthematica asking the yupdate the program, but it may be a while before they do so. For right now I'm gingerly going back to 7.6, but wish I didn't have to.
