I appreciate that you must go through some shit but if you really have a way to put a stop to it, please tell me how and I will help. It's all well and good saying "this happens, it's bad" but unless you've got viable solutions then ranting more and more is just making you look like, well, someone who rants a lot, and eventually people get tired of lots of words with no action.

Now believe it or not I spent my entire childhood and most of my employed life being given shit by women for being male, a male who has never oppressed another woman in his life, but was tarred with the same brush as the other men who apparently oppressed them in their lives. Hell, one of my friends lost custody of his child because the judge basically favoured the mother, and now pays more than he can technically afford in support. Men are negatively affected by gender division too. It's a circle I don't think is ever going to be broken because there aren't enough people willing enough to quit spinning the damn thing.
I'll agree that there's nothing specifically wrong with telling men to stop oppressing women though.

Fair assessment. I just find it ironic that we can tell someone what they can and can't say and it isn't oppression in its own right. Even telling someone they can't do something bad is oppression.

I'm kinda fucking with you guys, I don't agree with sexism and oppression and never have, but I love bringing that point up to see how people react. Yes, social attitudes towards women even now are capable of being very shitty. Anyone got a good idea how to stop it then? Let's do this.

Thanks but I've been thinking that for years. I just don't think the whole world's going to go to hell over it. It's not exactly the next Mein Kampf is it?

My point is you're not telling me anything new here. It'll die down like everything else that's controversial, you wait and see.

Film Production Technology. The uni weaseled their particular iteration of it into a BSc too, so apparently that's quite respectable. I don't really want a job in that industry any more for some reasons that will seem really stupid to most but are a really fucking big deal to me.

I've been on a Stargate SG-1 binge lately, so I ended it on Stargate: Continuum. Thoroughly unnecessary film, but it's quite fun to watch, especially to see Claudia Black steal the show half way through.
