That's why I imagine that it should not be called 'like' but just an agreement button. If you are going to say that is problematic in the same vein then arguably anyone posting to say that they agree with someone else is 'cheerleading'
In small community, that flavor of "low content posting" is not major issue, I think.
I have suspicion that even "agree" button could be construed as quantitave metric of
post-quality in way functionally indistinct from "like". It is not major big issue, though, just small gripe.
