Wait is the grey border around the avatar going to be taken care of? I just realize that it loooks ugly
I'll keep it in mind when I work on the theme.

it looks great when you have a full-fill avatar and terrible if it's white background or transparent

:fogetgrr: Oh yeah! Just testing out this new textbox. Weird, there is a twitter button. How does the My Media button work? Is there a filesize limit?

EMOTICON CONCERNS:

first of all, i realized that  and are both represented by .rockon. and the first one (which is the inferior one imo) is the only one that actually shows up. sooo that issue should get fixed, because currently i have just hosted this one () on a separate image hosting site in order to post it here. also maybe there's other duplicates too? you should just look over the emoticon list, i guess.

oh and does anyone else not like the :D smiley? it looks almost mockingly happy. i personally think it does not convey what its text form does. i don't think colon-dee should be transformed automatically into that monstrosity. either that, or include a special tag that disables emoticons within that space. currently i've just been unchecking the "Enable emoticons" checkbox in the post options in order to post : D (without the space), but sometimes i want to use some smileys and not others... basically, i'm not a fan of smileys that replace standard text ones. i prefer the type :likethis:

also this is maybe more of a personal concern but uhh i think we shouldn't have (and by extension, ) ... i am normally like the least-triggered person ever, but for some reason these ones bother me every time i see them as i'm scrolling down the smiley list...! :sweatdrop: i think they are unpleasant remnants of a time gone by in this community... i know that could be argued for quite a few of the smileys, but at least some of the others have potentially legitimate and non-offensive uses... but the "emo" ones are just kinda making fun of self-injury, which is an all-too-common struggle, and not a joke. and aside from that, which is more of an "on principle" reasoning, i'm just sayin' that those smileys bother me personally, so... i dunno; i wouldn't be even mentioning it if it wasn't something that i kept having a problem with... so um, thanks in advance!
semper games.

I don't think the intention behind those emotes was to actually to 'make fun' of self injury but to 'make light' (yeah there is a difference) of a serious issue which a lot of jokes tend to do. For better or for worse.

Though if they do bother you on a personal level that's more understandable I'm not going to miss them. I think I used them a total of like once in all of my posting history.

I cringed a lot at the wasp stinging the eyeball sig... I don't remember who had that. I kind of have a wasp/bee phobia. So I can empathize too that in a very mild degree.

Considering it's an emo joke, no this was definitely to make fun of.  Either way, self-harm images can be incredibly triggering to people who self-harm (which I never have, but I know a lot of people who have and they have spoken up about this many times) so we really don't need it.

I didn't go through the whole topic to see if that had already been covered, but is there a way to turn of display for signatures/avatars in the new forum.  it's just that i sometimes get on while I'm at work and its nice to not have to worry about loading avatars/signatures etc. while you're doing something like that.

Apparently we have a lot of these horns smileys. Changed 'em to .rock. , .rockon. , and .horns. :horns:

The .sweat. emoticon seems to be broken for some reason.

I've also removed the emo ones, good call.

I have kind of a dumb question that isn't that important but I want to mention it anyway.

So on the main board listing, there are icons to the left that are colored when there are unread posts in that forum. If you click it, it'll go away or whatever, and then light up again when there's new posts. Now, I seem to recall the old GW worked differently, where it would light up only if there are new posts since you last went in there. It's not a huge deal, but it'd be cool (if it's not too much trouble) to have the new theme work that way, where instead of lighting up if there are ANY unread posts, only light up if there are new posts since the last time you read SOMETHING in there. It might even be a user setting I didn't see, but I did check. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Actually, there where 3 levels of 'lit up'
one for new posts since you last looked, one for posts/topics you have not read, and one for no new posts.

Whaaat. I'll try to pay attention to them now and see the third one, I never saw that before. So I guess my feature request would be: on the new template, make these 3 levels more distinct.

Oh I see what you're saying. I thought maybe this one like, only colored in the "back" icon in one case and both icons in another or something. Ok then yes that would be awesome.

i think the forum would benefit from having a recent posts window because looking for all the great postz can be troublesome sometimes

Right now on the main page there's a "Recent Topics" list that lists the recent topics that were posted in.... of course they don't show the actual post but you can at least see the last topics that were posted in (and by whom).

Actually no, nevermind. That just seems to be a list of newest topics? I agree with bwiz, a list of recent posts would be cool. A box just like the recent topics one but "Recent Posts" would be perfect.

Also on the menu bar there's a "New Content" button. I have all the forums marked as read so that page says "No new content" for me, but maybe that page will show posts you haven't read or something.
