An early trailer of Team ICO's next PlayStation 3 game was leaked today. It's called Trico for now, but that'll probably change just like how Shadow of the Colossus was originally named Nico. Anyway, here's the trailer (view it in youtube for HD version):


I think it looks interesting. Designer Fumito Ueda mentioned earlier that the game is similar to ICO, with elements from SotC, and it shows. Having liked both games, I'll probably like this one too. On the other hand, there's something disappointing about it. It could be how it looks too similar to the previous games, or how the kid's model looks bad. It's still a trailer, and the final product might be different; even if it weren't, it's more me having huge expectations for the new game and getting something that seems more incremental than revolutionary. That said, I'm looking forward to it. It's the reason I justify getting a PS3 for after all...

I loved Shadow of the Colossus.  It was such a beautiful game. 

This looks really neat.  I like the monster thing a lot.  The little useless wings were really cute. 

It's kind of funny that, even though this is for the ps3, it doesn't look that much better than Shadow of the Colossus.  Probably because that game looked so good.

Sounds like fun. I'll definitely be getting it, regardless of the pokemon feel of that video. When he's diving through the water all I could think of was that magic dragon from never ending story when the kid shouts its name or whatever. Buuut... I trust this company with my gaming more than most companies as far as delivering something new and fun / interesting. Plus I'm sure it'll be epic beautiful when they're done and fully rendered.

How does that video resemble pokemon? Wasn't that a gameboy rpg with different monsters you use to fight dragonwarrior style?
