Every so often a 5 or an S in a rather futuristic font blinks onto the screen as if to suggest a fifth installation of a particularly famous Konami franchise, but you never know really. Here's why:

• The last time something like this got hyped up it turned out to be a shit looking game for the iphone, which in fairness was a pretty dastardly move by konami as what people wanted was MGS4 for the 360 and it was all very anticlimatic.
• Hideo Kojima could take a dump onto a blu ray and PS3 owners (myself included, I might add) would probably still buy it because let's be honest there's not a lot coming out for the platform at the moment, and despite all its cheesy glory and long drawn out silliness - mgs4 was the shit.

So let's speculate some more:

It might be worth adding that it is just under a year since they released MGS4 so it would make sense for them to release some sort of add on or sequel using the current technology they have. Because even a year on MGS4 is still one of the best looking games out there and as history shows they like to release one or two episodes using the same technology. They must've spent an awful lot of money on creating MGS4 so I would not be surprised if they already had several more titles using the same technology under wraps.

This topic is just generally for some crazy speculation. All we have to go on is a fairly chernobyl-esque looking moving picture with a flashing 5 or S.

I heard the timer stops on the day of Microsofts E3 Press Conference!? Only really liked Zone of the Enders from Kojima, MGS id just too.. I just don't see the appeal.

Also, the thunder and lightning in the teaser seems kinda like an important factor (hence the loading screen with the cloud with thunder appearing underneath it when it loads).

So I'm personally thinking either a rerelease of MGS4 with Raiden playability (because let's be honest, this is the first time ever the audience WANTED to play as Raiden) or MGS5 with Raiden as a protagonist... Maybe even a spinoff of the series?

Something that Kotaku made good note of too was the fact that the search terms don't seem to mention "MGS5".

They're alike, but I don't think so. Lunar Knights was obviously action oriented, whereas Boktai was a stealth game.
However, both series kicked serious ass and I want there to be sequels of 'em.

Also, I think the S stands for SNATCHER.
