oh boy i'm sure sad i can't get it then
i mean oh god
a ct fangame... my dream come true
ct was such a wonder, i'm sure a fangame can be a suitable sequel
that's like those people who liked mother 3 so much and they flipped out when there wasn't going to be another, they're making mother 4 in rpgmaker saying it's STILL the same kinda game and a suitable sequel
I still think the only way to make a true Earthbound sequel would be to make something nothing like it, like even Itoi realizes nobody cares about the continuing adventures of NESS
not that Ness isn't likeable but seriously Ness and Paula and Jeff and Poo are back at level 1 and exploring the town of Fiveton and Sixville this will be fun
at least if somebody invented a MR. NEPTUNE I'd have some faith in the game but there's never anything actually creative or visionary about these games and are made by people who hate spriting so they're pretty much screwed
Edit: Sorry double post
Edit: To me Idunn Ymyrialdor or whatever it was called is more of a Mother 4 than any of those fangames because it's 1000x more likely Itoi would do the sequel that way than like those fangames (not that either is very likely but proportionally there's infinitely more of a chance of it turning out that way)
Edit: Sorry if that was a random example but it came to mind because it stars some kid and aliens and it seems liked the creator actually spent time thinking about how things should look and feel and actually sketched things out beforehand (and not just some animu drawings I can imagine that game having some real concept art like they do for professional games)
