That's great but it still won't be out the same time the ps3 or PC version comes out.

Also the motion control things are dumb because it doesn't matter how precise they are, no developer for either of those consoles will make games for them. With the Wii, you have no other choice but to use what they give you. So while it's cool that these things are "enhancing" what the Wii has done, they won't be able to get off the ground. Maybe they'll get some really bad arcade games using it but that's about it.

Would they have to develop around the Natal system though? That article said that the guy used the Natal with Burnout Paradise, which was already out. So unless the guys who made Burnout Paradise remade the game to work with the Natal. It seems like you can use it with almost any 360 games.

so is it just me, or did they just turn metroid into every other science fiction action game on the face of the earth?  samus aran doesn't have fucking friends.  she doesn't have supervisors or rivals.  i don't want cool poses, one-liners or intergalactic council meetings in my metroid, and i definitely don't want it to be some epic, sweeping space opera.  that is superfluous bullshit that should serve as a backdrop, if it's even included at all.  yeah, prime 3 did this but retro handled it well, not CLOSEUP OF INSIDE OF GUN seriously guys

just drop me on a well-designed planet with no radio contact and let me collect shit until you decide the game is over.  that's all you need to do, nintendo.

p.s. lookin forward to those spectacular breast physics as always, team ninja.

I get some of this, but come on. If they took out the cool poses and all the extreme angles, then why bother calling them "Team Ninja" in the first place?

I agree it was much much better when you couldn't even tell Samus was a chick until you actually finished a game, but cut the guys some slack. (All the rules changed when Hunters was released anyhow)

i didn't say that looked castlevania-ish either geez

i just said this doesn't look very much what we're accustomed to, even the retro castlevanias

idk i almost get more of a God of War vibe from it than castlevania

oh except it has crosses

ps: incase you didn't notice this is just a very early opinion i've no fucking clue otherwise

You could be feeling this way because "Lords of Shadow" was originally announced back in August of 2008 as a completely new IP, but now it has Castlevania and Kojima slapped across it.

What the fuck. Project M? Team Ninja? I have never even heard of these before.

Dead or Alive, XBox Ninja Gaiden games.

I'm pretty stoked about Silent Hill Shattered Memories.

I'm not saying that because of that, infact I had no flipping idea. Actually, I read on a list of new-gen games that there was an unannounced Castlevania, and that was all.

I don't get why I'm the only one who feels this looks very different.

couldn't care less about the new SH, every one since 3 has sucked (and it is a stretch to say 3 was GOOD)

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

I guess a better question would be how did you get your hands on the WiiMP?  Did you go to E3 or something?

admittedly i couldn't tell whether this was a serious question or not but i'll treat it like one anyway

why should team ninja get to put their blatant imprints that don't mesh with what the metroid franchise is all about into the game?  because they're team ninja?  i don't buy this, man.

i'm going to cite grasshopper manufacture as an example.  suda51 has gone on record saying that he (and his company by extension) doesn't imprint their personal style on works they've licensed out of respect for the intent of the original work, but you could probably still tell that it's a grasshopper manufacture game anyway.  subtlety.

that's grasshopper though and not team ninja.  they obviously have different styles, and my argument is that yeah this kind of stuff would be okay (as far as a game can really be okay which is arguable since i've pretty much grown tired of all games nowadays) if it wasn't metroid.  this isn't a dig at team ninja (most of my previous post was) since they've already proven themselves as competent developers, but i don't think their style is going to provide the kind of metroid that i'd want to play.  if i play the game and love it, i'll eat whatever bird you want.  for now, this trailer left a pretty sour taste in my mouth.

The Lords of Shadow trailer gave me a Blade Runner/Rutger Hauer vibe, but only because of that one line "I've done... questionable things."

Seeing the stuff for Alan Wake got me thinking... how the fuck is this game not out yet?  It was one of the first really impressive-looking games for the ps3, but now it's been so long that everyone has pretty much forgotten about it.

Alan Wake was held back to make it look better graphically then Killzone 2 people think. Animation is still a bit off though, unlike Uncharted 2 man that game is extremely well done, that footage at the conference was fucken amazing.

I said this on my previous post and I'll say it again. But I'm so pissed at Nintendo.

That's it. I'm getting a 360 or PS3. Heavy Rain looks so rad.

I don't really see how. Heavy Rain and Alan Wake just look like bad movie trailers. I might get Alan Wake when it is cheap though but that's only because I like exploring kind of desolate environments and I think that will be what it is like.

ohhhh shut up.  this is annoying.  i don't even feel like i should have to explain how compared to something like DEATHCORE 2 or whatever other garbage is coming out this year that people are flipping out about, heavy rain is kind of a breath of fresh air.  any game that puts such an emphasis on CINEMATICS is something i am going to be a bit more fond of than other games, but the fact that it is concerning something that hasn't really been done much in video games and appears to be plot-driven with passable dialogue are also factors.  bottom line is it looks better and less dumb than 99% of other video games even with its apparent flaws and if you weren't bringing out some tired, quintessentially-you argument about how poorly they compare to a medium much more developed than video games, i probably would not need to be typing this post.

If something is genuinely new and a novel idea there will always be someone posting who is so non-conformist in nature about everything that they feel compelled to say it's shit.

It's normally the same person.
