BTW yesterday they patched this game for PS3 and 360 the Siren's Action attack has been fixed (supposedly it wasn't working right.). I'm actually playing as a siren and I think the class isn't that week at all.

Played this a bit online and kept losing the levels I made and any loot I found everytime the host left the game or when I lost connection, annoying as hell...

This keeps happening to me as well. I basically can't play any online game at all (not tried with brand new patch yet though).

It's mad fun in local splitscreen co-op but so far (ignoring the non-saving problem) I have found online play extremely dull and nobody chats or seems to work together. Not been able to play with my mates yet but so far I'm really disappointed with all the online stuff in the game. :(

Also beat the game with about 97% of quests (enough to get all achievements, even though I didn't do all the missions in certain achievement areas) in about 20 hours.

Good game save the horrendous ending, but I really can't be arsed to do a second playthrough with the slow start the game has.

The multiplayer implementation is this games biggest weakness. There is absolutely no compelling reason for a team to work together; as a matter of fact - the game REWARDS you for being a douche and running off alone (By grabbing chests and getting to the loot first). Unless you know the people you're playing with, multiplayer is going to be a waste of time 9/10, that is if you can even GET INTO A GAME because you need to open ports just to host a game; and most people are wary of opening up their computer to attack just to host a damn multiplayer game. It's like we've time traveled back to the fucking 90s; because it sure as hell seems like the game ignores all the lessons learned by other developers / games of this type.

If you're playing with friends, you're probably going to work together; but that doesn't negate the fact that pretty much nothing encourages a team to do this - not the retarded AI with shit pathing, not the "badass" enemies that can be mowed down by average equipment loadouts, and and certainly not the loot driven endgame that can be easily circumvented by save file editors.

I really, really wish I hadn't spent money on this.

It's a know glitch, that if you don't leave before the host does, your character won't save.

I have left before the host everytime and on all 5 occassions it hasn't saved anything for me.

I agree with NB on the most part, although I don't regret buying the game (regret paying 40 quid though!). But yeah, there just doesn't seem to be any point or reward at all for playing this game online, even though it should be a game pretty much solely about multiplayer.

I think the situation is not helped by each class having only 1 active ability, which means that there's actually very little that players can do to help each other beyond reviving on death..but second wind is 90% of the time all you need to counter that.

And they get harder when you have more players and I think you get better loot for playing with others but then the other players steel the loot for them self's I think they need to do distribution system of items different like randomly give loot or shuffle who gets it. (if they have space). or make a designated spot where it will hold the items that where randomly disburse to each character and you may pick them up from there. (sort like a one way storage container)

What would be nice if they had something to put my items in to like I have a good weapons that I don’t want to accidentally sell them and I would feel better if it was away in a container some where and it would make it easier on me so I can just sell the whole dam thing.

BTW I sort of like this game... maybe they will add expansion to this game since it seems they left room to do so.

DLC was announced before the game was even released. The DLC will feature - wait for it - ZOMBIES.

No, I'm not joking.

I like zombies.  Though I actually haven't played this game yet. So IDK it in the context of the game if zombies would fit or not.

For those that care.

Quote
Starting November 24, Dr. Ned is graciously opening his Zombie Island to any gun-toting maniac with ten bucks. 2K has announced the price ($9.99/800) and release date for the first Borderlands DLC pack on PS3 and Xbox 360. The publisher tells Joystiq that the DLC's availability for the PC version is yet to be determined -- in other words, it's probably not coming out on November 24. Though, that's unconfirmed and subject to pending details.

2K promises "ferocious brain-eating zombies, carnivorous Were-Skags and more" on the spooky island, but, perhaps more relevant to weapon-obsessed Borderlands players, there's more "sweet, sweet loot" to find.

Well if there is a number 2 I think the first thing they need to think about is the vehicle because I think everything in this game needs to be more customizable and there should be a billion part for you to pimp your ride with and each class should have a female and male counter part with editable builds face structure.

I think the game had a good idea but they didn't execute it properly.

Pretty much everything you listed there is utterly pointless stuff that wouldn't really enhance the game in any way at all.

I am unsure if they will end up doing a second one. They wanted Borderlands to be a franchise, but the enormous negative rep Gearbox/2k are getting from the first one pretty much ensures that they will sell a drastically smaller amount of copies. If they can put 2 and 2 together they'll probably realise that it's not going to be profitable to make a sequel (unless they do a Valve and just release a patched version as a full price sequel....)

Well I always hated using the car to kill thing and it was boring I'm just saying it would help the game out alot just by doing little bit of that but I know they needs to do a lot more then that to have significant impacted on the fun factor.

HOW ABOUT YOU WORK ON BUG / FEATURE FIXES DURRRRR

Bro.

They began working on DLC during the certification process, because during that time they cannot change or edit anything in the game.

They also have a team working on DLC and people specifically working on bug fixes, it's not like they're out there to ignore bugs.

I am unsure if they will end up doing a second one.

but the enormous negative rep Gearbox/2k are getting from the first one pretty much ensures that they will sell a drastically smaller amount of copies.

Yeah but despite this they seem to be getting a shit ton of copies being sold anyway, so I'm not sure if it's really going to stop them from making a sequel. Anyway, I for one would welcome a sequel with open arms if it improved upon what they've already given us. I'd hope that we get at least a few DLCs before a sequel anyway.

Also a cool way to play it (if you have the PC version, that is) is to dive into the ini files and try playing it in third person. It's really crazy, and kinda hard to get used to cause often your shots will hit the ground behind you instead of where you aim.

Another cool way to play through (I read this on the Gearbox Borderlands Forum) is that whenever you find a gun, no matter what it is, you pick it up and swap it for you are currently using. No comparing, no going into your inventory and changing it back. You gotta trust yourself to do this. This includes shields and grenade/class mods as well.

The reason for doing this is the intense sense of accomplishment you feel when you kill someone like with a bad repeater you found not two minutes beforehand.

Man I am really trying to like this game but it really bums me out headshotting a guy 4 or 5 times with an explosive sniper rifle and he chases me down and kills me.

The reason I don't play a lot of rpgs is because I absolutely cannot stand grinding, and it seems like this game would be great if the level differences weren't obstructing my play. I'm actually pretty sure I have other quests I can do while I'm trying to level up, but the HUD is so hard to read that I pretty much just do whatever mission is active.
I know a lot of people like this game but jeez I am having a hard time even getting myself to turn it on!
