Bro.

They began working on DLC during the certification process, because during that time they cannot change or edit anything in the game.

They also have a team working on DLC and people specifically working on bug fixes, it's not like they're out there to ignore bugs.

Bro.

Thank you for being condescending.

You can still work on separate builds during the certification process and then it is a matter of importing those codes in the form of patches and updates. You do not immediately need to switch to DLC, but regardless is this even what happened? Source? A lot of games launch with Patch #1 on release day. I'm not saying they are ignoring the bugs and funked features, but still having people on DLC while the fundamental game isn't very polished is not good practice imo (unless from a business perspective, which yes, they are, I know, but still).

As far as I know they were unaware of several of the major bugs until launch when the ones who ran into them started to complain. Also I wasn't trying to be condescending, so sorry if I came across like that.

I'll try and dig through one of the ridiculously massive topics on the Gearbox forum to find the source of

I'm pretty sure one of the community manager's posts states that part of the team moved onto development of a DLC and anyone else were bugfixing, or something like that.

Yeah, sorry, I was having a bad morning (4 hours sleep, woke up to sanding, permanent retainer broke, etc) and you were just the first person I encountered.

Does anyone know If one of the bugs they plan on fixing is the port problem a number of people are having with multiplayer? I have to swap over my modem when ever I want to play this online, the modem which allows the online function to work also has to be rebooted every 3-4 hours which is frustrating as hell.

Man I am really trying to like this game but it really bums me out headshotting a guy 4 or 5 times with an explosive sniper rifle and he chases me down and kills me.

this is probably because of one, or all of the below>>>
* you have a shitty exploding sniper rifle
* you are facing people higher level'd than you
* you are facing a brute or burning psycho
* you think you are hitting their head but you are not (best way to check is if it pops up saying CRITICAL!)

other than that I have no idea as to why they are chasing you down and killing you. if they come near you then shotgun their asses.

Sweet as bro.

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure. As far as I know that's most likely one of the most important bugs they are working on but I'm still not sure. I just use hamachi, which works perfectly for me.

Also, the new DLC actually sounds worth the ten dollars. You're getting 6-10 hours gameplay in the new area with around 50 new quests. Considering the original game can be knocked out in under twenty hours (including all quests) then that's actually pretty sweet for 10 bucks.

I'd be kinda concerned if they weren't aware of an easily reproducable progression blocker in the tutorial of the game....

What was this? I think I ran into this and had no idea what was going on.

I wasn't really paying attention to the game as I was talking to someone while playing, but I got to the first town and nothing happened. Nobody came out of the houses, and my obj. didn't update. I assumed I hadn't been listening and the robot told me to do something, but when I restarted the town opened automatically. Is that the bug?

The DLC should be coming out tommorow I believe for this, anyone getting it? I cant seem to get more info as to whats going to be included in this, anyone know anything more than the 3 screenshots which were released? All I know is this DLC contains Zombies and costs £10.00.

for ps3 it's out. The enemies scale to your LV also you will be able to get better loot drops. Nothing much other then that. BTW I just beat the DLC litte more funnier then the original content still tries too hard.

Edit: also There is a downed claptrap to expand your maximum loot you can hold near the end of the game.

I bought this game a few weeks ago, and initially I loved it, but the game began to have some serious problems for me and I ended up trading it in. My gripes:

-Game is way too easy. With a good recharger for your shield, and having a shield that regenerates your HP, every enemy becomes easy. I understand the second playthrough is tougher, but WHY don't game developers just let you play the game the FIRST time with a tough difficulty. Obviously you'll enjoy it more, and they should make their games so that the first play through is the best as it can be. I never got this mentality with games, and yet the problem is so prevalent.

-Little to NO interaction. The game has like, 5 NPCs you can talk to, and even then it's very limited talking. I understand it's a desolate wasteland, but so was Fallout 3 and it had amazing interaction and NPC depth.

-Sidequests are horrible. Almost every sidequest I went on was a fetch-quest: "collect the 5 skulls in that settlement" "kill the 10 bandits in that settlement" "shoot off the 5 Rakk poo off the wind blades" man, can that get boring FAST. Especially when everything's so easy, it's even more boring.

-Also, the insane LOOT the game boasts to have is pretty much a lie. It's essentially the same 10 items, with different stats. 80% of the stuff I found, I couldn't pick-up cause 1) it was ammo that I was stocked up on 2) didn't have room 3) was crap. It was annoying to keep opening up every little thing with rewards being very occasional.

Blah, the whole game was a bad intro for me to a western open-world RPG. I picked up Fallout 3 Game of the Year addition, and man, it is infinitely better. So challenging, it seriously is a SURVIVAL RPG, amazing. Also, it has like 200 hours worth of gameplay, when Borderlands had like 30. 30 hours is not enough for a open-world western RPG.

I much prefer Borderlands over Fallout 3.  The shooting sucks ass in Fallout.
Yay! Random words!

you're not supposed to shoot like an FPS in fallout you just abuse VATS to win easily

also i played through this once and it wasn't really worth a second playthrough. it could have been so much better!

This game surprised me when it let me and a friend go through the game on the same 360. The menu for us was a bit fucked up (it was still the same size as a single player screen but on two split screens so you had to scroll the menu with the right stick) but I had more fun playing with another person. My xbox has been really messed up lately.. it randomly burns a circle around the disc if I play the game for too long which deems the dvd useless. I had to burn a 2nd copy of fallout 3. this also happened to blue dragon disc 3 and borderlands now. :(

fallout 3 is lot more fun when you don't use VATS though.  Using VATS just makes it seem really cheap and retarded (although I have to admit, its nice in a really intense firefight to let the computer do it for you sometimes)

Am I the only dude who really thoroughly enjoyed VATS? It helped that I kind of sucked at the game without it but it never seemed "OP" or anything. I could get like 4 bursts with my chinese assault rifle and either cripple one super mutant or severely wound/kill 1-3 raiders/etc (pretty much the same amount of damage I could do just shooting). And giant radscorpions and mirelurks were still tough as balls regardless of VATS.
And getting caught without AP was really tense and *ohshit runaway* which made it funner(for me) than just always being in *pewpew you dead* FPS mode.
Fallout 3 was really cool.
PS: No game ever overwhelmed me except maybe playing someone elses game where theyre near the end and have all the abilities and you don't know what any of them do. Also, I feel like if I ever play a Hearts of Iron or Europa Universalis game I'll be overwhelmed.
oh and DF(Dwarf Fortress) did sometimes at first
this is not the games that overwhelmed me topic im dump sorr

I pop this in the ps3 every now and again and its mad fun for me, but that is probably because i love looting like an asshole and just shooting things endlessly. The gameplay is like halo except damage is based on a diablo stat structure type thing. The weapons are pretty fun too. Currently using a sniper rifle that sets shit on fire from a far enough distance, teleportation grenades and some kind of really mean shotgun. Good brainless fun so far.

What a flat and boring game. Everything is so repetitive and stale. I can't believe I wasted money on this either. :fogetpout:
