I know there was already a recomendations thread. I think i spelled recomendations wrongly. Either way, i wanted to do it again because i need some new music to listen to again and some movies to watch. So the point is to to recommend to other people movies, books, music and anything else you can think. I know there was a mixtape thread but if you wanna make that effort than even better! Try to recomend shit that isn't 100% popular because people will already know about it.

Movies: Gangs of New York - I'm gonna break my own rule. This is a popular movie but I saw it and loved it so much I had to say something about it. It's super romanticized and fantastical. It has Leonardo Decaprio and Daniel Day Lewis. It's pretty great.

Music: Illogic - Celestial Clockwork. I don't know a lot about this guy, I just found him on some random guys soulseek account. He's got pretty great lyrics. I don't know who does his beats, but his whole sound is a little different. He has become one of my favorite rappers. He is kinda of one those underground rappers that tries not to talk about guns, bitches and hoes, which I feel like has become a trend in it's own, but I think he is good and strays from the path a little.

Book: Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins. I haven't finished this yet but it's pretty fuckin good. It's about beets and immortality. When my friend told me that I thought it was just some dumb pseudo-intellectual bull shit, but it's actually real good. I can't vouch for the ending because I haven't finished it, but life is the journey not the destination right?

I, personally, am looking mostly for movies, but recommend anything you can think of!

I need some good documentaries

I watched one on Rwanda and that dear Zachary one. The bridge, super high me, seen those. Watched lake of fire, manufacturing consent, and the corporation too.

I don't think I'm looking for anything specific as long as it isn't boring as hell. maybe some drug documentaries would be cool, I really liked the way superhigh me was done and thought it was interesting/funny.

I've seen religulous too

Man on Wire, Better Faster Stronger..

I'd recommend you check out The Thin Blue Line, which pretty much changed the documentary genre a decade ago.

Man on Wire is great, it's my probably my favourite film from 2008. Here's some other documentaries off the top of my head:

This Film Is Not Yet Rated
:ganja: Cocaine Cowboys :ganja:
Bus 174
Taxi to the Dark Side

Bus 174 and Taxi to the Dark Side are depressing shit but good. This Film Is Not yet Rated focuses a bit too much on the detective work and Cocaine Cowboys drags near the end, but both are really entertaining.

I'm looking for some really interesting books to check out while I'm out at sea.

Maybe some on political stuffs, philosophy, and anything very interesting/informative would be cool.

Also whats that book steel kept name dropping its got "fortune" in the title or something like that and he said it was really really good.

edit: nothing too obscure though because I'm going to have to purchase them at a book outlet because the libraries around here are real bad.

Hello, I was going to make a new topic but this topic will do fine. I am looking for Spanish music (you know the stuff with guys singing and playing acoustic guitar) and any American Indian music with flutes and stuff like that (think Last of the Mohicians soundtrack).

for television show recommendations, I've recently started watching Brotherhood.  Its a showtime drama that ran for 3 seasons (was recently just cancelled by Showtime because not enough people were watching it) that I've been getting into recently.  I've already watched first season and am a little over half-way done with the second season, but so far its been pretty good in my opinion.  Its a kind of crime/gangster drama and I guess you could say its kind of like the Sopranos but I've never watched the sopranos so I really don't have any idea whether or not this is a rip-off of it or not, but regardless, I think it's pretty good.  Theres only like 29 episodes to the entire seires total so its not a big time commitment (although since it is a Showtime show each episode is an hour or about that much)

Good ol' Coach Richards.  I loved his class.  I don't know how Milton spawned a dude like that.
