yeah they sucked. fuck those pigs! especially the big bouncy one at the end

the space boss was the worst though because he'd fire those stupid beams and also drop cannonballs that exploded upwards! also he was the end boss in the first gameboy mario iirc

Medievil. They should make a new sequel or HD remix of the original for PlayStation 3. Such a classic!

Mega Man 10.  I'll have to go back to MM9 to double check but this game seems a bit more difficult.

it does look bad:

for those who have played it: is this what heavy rain is actually like? i've heard lots of people say that heavy rain is DIFFERENT from indigo prophecy, but i'm really not seeing that. it basically looks like the same really shitty movie with arbitrary interactive bits where you need to hit button patterns to pluck the character's nosehairs or something equally meaningless.

i'm all for coming up with new ways to creatively use the interactivity of videogames, but this is the absolute worst way to go about doing it.

i have the demo and it seems like QUICK TIME EVENT: THE GAME pretty much. i mean there's something about an origami killer but i was too busy going through the exact motions to direct some guy to use his inhaler that i wasn't really paying attention

Mount & Blade or Cryostasis?

I think I'll do some Cryostasis until it gets too late and scary and then I'll kill farmers in Mount & Blade :<.

That is indeed what Heavy Rain is. I tried the demo and it felt like watching a movie that pauses itself every five second and to unpause you have to push a randomly selected button on your remote. If that wasn't enough, you had to hold down the "play" button on your remote in order to keep the movie rolling!

So Cryostasis won't run very well on my machine, even with shit turned to low. That hurts.
Steam version isn't patched, so maybe that's why. Oh well. Back to Mount & Blade!

Okay. so I haven't PLAYED this game, but I watched my roommate play it for 3 hours (which, as it turns out, is just as good as PLAYING it for 3 hours). The presentation is pretty good, the graphics are nice (far from perfect, but good) and the voice acting is generally garbage. Remember the cutscenes from Resident Evil 4 where you had to press A or mash B really fast, and depending on your timing it "changes" the cutscene? There are a LOT of "fight" scenes in Heavy Rain exactly like that, but instead of doing it 3 times and then going back to playing a game, you do it for 5 minutes straight because that IS the game. Meh.

The one part that DID look pretty fun was the "detective" part of it, where the guy has super-computer sun glasses on and you press X and he can see clues nearby and analyze them. Reading that sentence again, I realize it doesn't make much sense, so here's a video.
about 1:40 in.

Pretty cool if you ask me. But those parts are really short and actually don't lead up to much of anything, but it's a pretty good idea. And then, back to terrible Lethal Weapon 4 "action" cut scenes.

I've only watched friends play it. but it looks like a game to play at least once for the experience.

I just bought the latest DLC for Borderlands so I'll probably play that once it's finished installing.

Picked up Monster Hunter Tri demo pretty nice but I hate the fact it's only a demo.  April can't come soon enough. -_-

FF13 for the 360 has leaked on to usenet so I'm downloading that to play but I'm not entirely sure I'll make it through the game because man oh man that company has been on a roll with churning out the stinkers

Well if you're just downloading it anyway, why not give it a fair shot and play it through?  I'm still waiting for next week to come so I can make good on my preorder to finally play it.  Only thing I'm really worried about is how many impressions seem to "complain" about the game's severe linearity until the very end though with the way gamers these days (or any days) talk I wouldn't be surprised if it's a bit overblown.

But yeah, forget Lightning, it's all about Sazh for me. :P

Apparently when you compare the map areas of FFX and FFXIII, FFX seems to be a bit more linear than FFXIII is - although FFX had the option to backtrack with your airship which gave you a higher degree of freedom. Despite some of the heat that the game has been getting, and the fact that I hated the last few of its predecessors, I am pretty hyped up to buy this game on the release day next week. I just hope that I enjoy it at LEAST as much as I did X, but i'll just have to wait and find out.
