Finished Saboteur. It was OK. Unlocking the perks turned into more of a chore later on though. And the end sort of sets its self up for a sequel even though it's fairly obvious their isn't going to be one.

Went back to playing BC2. Found myself kicking some serious ass... which is weird because before I started and beat the Saboteur I was doing AWFUL. like I got like 2-10 K-D... now its like the reverse... 10-2.

Thinking that the unlockable weapons and abilities get kind of OP later down the road maybe... or maybe I just got paired with a good team/weak enemy.

So I found out some guy I used to be friends with who turned out to be a total dick stole my Hitman 2 disc a while ago, without me realising. I am now playing Hitman Contracts. It is not as good.

Blood Money is good. I like the Hitman series!

I sort of wish there were some sort of modern spiritual successor to Hitman. It was a cool series, because it was some sort of puzzler/murder simulator and it was pretty fun to try and get through a mission without harming innocent people or causing a panic or anything.

I am currently jugling Yakuza 3, Final Fantasy XIII, Darksiders, and SMT: Strange Journey. I like them all a lot!

I hate hitman: blood money because there's an atari shooter I had when I was a babey called blood money and whenever I feel nostalgic and go looking for it to play a few rounds I have to wade through all the fucking hitman gamefaqs.

Bought this new Square-Enix RPG for iPhone called ChaosRings. It has pretty awesome 3D graphics and all. It plays like classic turn-based JRPGs. Lacks in depth, though. It's more of an dungeon crawler than a real story-driven JRPG (there is still plenty of dialog). At 10 euros it was pretty expensive though.

I posted this on targ forums a minute ago but this is GAMING world after all, right? I mean this is GAMING world, if you catc:

I just completed Final Fantasy XIII a few moments ago. I wasn't expecting to play it, but it just fell into my life out of convenience! I am glad it's over. I am also glad I didn't pay anything for this game. I would be very angry with myself if I had spent money on a PS3 and then money to buy a copy of this game.

It's terrible. It's the worst final fantasy, and this is a series with some clunkers!

If you want to know what it is like, then I'd say imagine Final Fantasy X style gameplay with an increased focus on fighting and linearity, mixed with the graphical style of Advent Children (this was something they were aspiring to), and an even more over-wrought story than usual. The story this time is totally senseless. It's really hard to figure out what exactly you are supposed to be driving towards in the game, and there are flourishes of emotion out of nowhere.

There is nothing to do in the game except fight and walk forward. There is a small section of the game where you can walk freely in a bunch of directions, but there isn't anything else to do, ever, except fight. This wouldn't be a terrible thing if the fighting was fun and interesting but after a while it gets really boring because there is exactly one way to win battles. You stagger the enemy using magic and physical attacks, and kill them. If an enemy is tough, you'll need to heal or cast status changing spells to make things go easier. Alot of the time you don't need to bother with that, though. You just do the same thing over and over, and it takes longer and longer as the game goes on because all the bad guys start to have millions of hit points.

Also what happened to exploring and finding things? That's why I play games like this. I like to walk around and take a look at houses and see different things. I don't know why they decided to just serve you 40 hours of relentlessly boring fighting without even trying to distract you from how boring it was with some minigames or towns or anything at all! Anything at all would have been nice!

I wanted to write a longer post where I just hit on every aspect of this game because it really is terrible and I never want to play another game like it. The dumb things I was expecting to like in this game aren't even there.

I was more positive about it earlier on, so I think it must get worse as it goes on. The things you expect to shape up as you go on don't. Character development is an illusion (you don't really get to decide anything, you just get to individually level up each of your stats in the exact way the developers want you to and that is it), the game never really develops into anything more than it is at the start (although gran pulse is cool to walk around in, for a little while), and the story never finds any stride to even makes you want to see what is going to happen next. You know it is only going to mean moving forward a few steps and fighting loads of monsters, whatever the hell happens (as if it matters anyway!) It looks like it is going to find some kind of purpose when all your characters finally get together, but that is actually when it really loses it.

Also, the story, characters and world of this game is pure garbage in every way. Just so you know, there isn't anything good I can say about any of that. It's all been done before, it's shallow and messy, it's stupid and flashy and I wouldn't have put up with it for more than 3 seconds anywhere else other than a video-game.

Okay I am done writing about it now. I'm making a decision to be better than bullshit like this once and for all.

You meant to say you were talking about Final Fantasy XIII when you said that right?

Even though a large portion of what was said does describe Final Fantasy XII quite aptly as well.

Maybe all of it even.

yeah typo. i don't think much of what i said could be applied to 12, though. i'm pooped and that's enough final fantasy talk from me on this day. it's time to lay down my buster sword and say sweet dreams.

I like ff12 and ff13, but they are both only 'okay' for completely opposite reasons. They both had the potential to be the best ff games but they really messed up during development.

http://ferricide.livejournal.com/884751.html

Probably the best review/rant about the game (and series in general).

I pretty much agree with most of everything jamie said about FFXIII. I kinda like the story, and the characters are interesting at times. I do enjoy the battle system, but it gets extremely repetitive if played for long periods of time.

It was one of the bigger disapointments for any game for me. I waited (along with all other FF fans) sooo long for it to come out, and it was one of the titles i was looking forward to the most this year (or last couple years, actually.) and its just such a letdown. Its so bare, there isnt anything to the game except for the battle system. :/ You just go from one set of fights to another set of fights, even the ONE sidequest thing you can do completely revolves around fighting.

Though since I was one of the poor saps who actually bought it, I plan to finish it since I started it. I'm at the very last dungeon, anyways. So close.

I actually enjoyed FFXII a lot on a sidenote. I don't think its a bad game by any means. Nothing beats FFX, FFVI and FFVII though IMO.

i randomly bought this game called resonance of fate. it's apparently made by tri-ace who made the star ocean games( :blarg: ), but i did not know this until later on. i literally knew nothing about it and the box looked vaguely interesting. this is the WORST REASONING for buying a game but i did it anyway.

i don't know if it's just me but i love the hell out of this game. everything in it is strange and ridiculous but it's really won me over. it's like tri ace woke up one day and realized that they didn't know what the fuck they were doing and started inexplicably copying things other popular games have done. this somehow works.

i dunno. i'm only 20 hours into the game so there's plenty of time for it to crash and burn. this has been a positive experience so far, though, which i can't say i honestly expected out of this game. i'll probably make another post in here when i have a better feel for what this game is really about.

Holy crap DICE did an awful job of balancing BC2 weapons and perks... I just unlocked a perk that makes handling for assault rifles steadier, Before I could barely get 1 kill, now I'm killing them left and right... Something like this should be available early on, not later.

Got the Deus Ex collection from Steam the other. 5 bucks for both games was a steal. The original was one of my favorites and is STILL a blast to play. Only played a little of Invisible War and so far have mixed opinions on it though.
