played through the last world of SMB3. then played through all of SMW recently. Now I don't have any idea of what to play. Sick of Mario games for the moment. and I'm not in the mood for Halo 3 or Team Fortress 2 (on PC).

I've been playing Mass Effect, but now that the Policenauts translation is out, I think I'll switch over to that game. For anyone that knows Snatcher, Policenauts is pretty much like that. Mass Effect is great, but I've been looking forward to the Policenauts translation for years.

If anyone is interested, the translation patch for Policenauts (Playstation version) is located on this website: http://policenauts.net/

Started playing Persona 4 again, got to the start of the last dungeon for the Bad Ending. Quite annoyed though, because I have to play upto that point again - 6 Hours of playtime gone, all 'cause I forgot to save the bloody game and took a crazily high hit from Agidyne (top fire spell) which garaunteed the next hit to kill me - and the hit was a multi attack, so no being saved by my team mates.... GODDAMNIT ;_;

Ahwell, atleast I get to see some of the funnier scenes again, the festival and the areas around it are some of the most laughable ones ever. Spec the cross dressing pageant, heh.

Man, I've been really dipping into variety this week. Mario games, CoD4, FEAR, TF2, L4D, Jumper Three, and Halo 3. its rare that I ever play more then 3 games consistently. and I pretty much played all these equally.

Battle for Wesnoth... still.  If you don't save those high level units, this game really hands your own ass to you.  I might make a Netplay topic soon if I feel up to it.

Oh well though it's way too hard at the beginning anyway  :welp:

I picked up Batman: Arkham Asylum yesterday for less than $40.00 (Canadian). I played it a little bit last night, and so far I'm enjoying it. It's different than I had expected, and I'm finding the 'easy' difficulty to be VERY simple. Combat so far has consisted of mashing one button, but I had to admit that the ability to hang bad guys from gargoyles is pretty sweet. The game, so far, seems to be encouraging exploration, but my Bat skills suck (seeing as I'm at the beginning of the game) so I've come up against a lot of barriers that I can't get through. Oh, well.

Mark Hamill also does the voice of the Joker. I just about jumped for joy at this fact.

So far, it's tiding me over; I just have to make it stretch for 6 weeks until Uncharted 2 comes out.
Check it out! I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year!

yea i gave up cause it either kept freezing if i didn't watch the damn movies or if i got through the intro, leaving the city it would freeze and i would be doomed to listen to birdcalls and stuff that play in the background.

Beat Arkham Asylum the other night, good game all the way through. There are some little issues that don't really matter except on higher difficulty settings. In combat, sometimes you just have to tilt the stick towards the next enemy, hit attack and Batman will leap over and strike, irrespective of the distance. Other times, even when an enemy is "in range" (since Batman demonstrated the ability to leap across the room twice in the fight already) Batman just punches the air and breaks the combo. It didn't happen enough to wreck the game for me, but it was frustrating when I was trying to work up a 40 hit chain. I ended up taking the turtle approach for most crowd control battles, except when there was involved. I'd let myself get completely surrounded and then just go to town.

One thing they could have fixed is the "strike a stunned enemy" on the ground thing. In a few fights, I tried to take the enemies out in a hurry so I could deal with some of the tougher guys as they streamed in, but there's a problem. The game goes into slow-mo during some of Batman's moves - sounds cool, nice visual effect. The problem is that it seems to me that it only slows down Batman's movement (and maybe the guy he's hitting) but not the world around him. Scenario - guy on the ground, press y as I hold rt. Batman leaps up in slow motion and is poised to take the guy out of the fight when - bam - another thug has time to run halfway across the room and slug me during the animation, knocking me out of it.

I also don't really like how even if your strike would have connected under normal circumstances, the game gives the enemy's move priority once it pops the "I'm about to attack so you better not press anything but y for the next half of a second" indicator up.

Still, once you learn to slow down and fight within the game's system, it is a lot of fun to clear out an entire room in one sequence.

I really hope the game performs well enough so that the devs get a green light for a sequel and are granted the time and funding to set it in a highly explorable Gotham City.

My one big gripe would be some of the because

I'm going to mess around with the challenges for a while, hope for some decent dlc in the near future, and probably play through the whole thing again at least once more when I get the time, maybe a no upgrade run or something.

Picked up Dissidia: Final Fantasy on launch day, and have been playing mostly that ever since (with a bit of Mirror's Edge sprinkled in while the PSP battery recharges). Zidane's a quick little thumper, and I've currently got him as my highest-leveled character (18 as of this post).

Finished up Oblivion and Shivering Isles pretty much, still lots of non important side quests but I've grown bored of the game anyways. There's 80 hours of my life gone now !

Just got CoD4 fixed, so I'll be rockin that occasionally until Modern Warfare 2 comes out. Hopefully they didn't fuck it up.

I got Eternal Sonata today (I know...) because I really wanted to play a JRPG (I know..) and all I have is a 360. It's kind of awful and cringe worthy so far but I'm enjoying it which is good. I've got a feeling it'll be a fairly forgettable gaming experience but it won't be terrible to the point of not wanting to play it. On the upside it's very pretty visually.

Wasn't sure what to think of it. What's the battlesystem like?

There's a few JRPGs floating around, like err the pretty terrible Infinite Undiscovery and Tales of something or other.

In regards to the battle system. Have you played Breath of Fire: DQ? The battle system is sort of like that I guess. Turn based but actiony at the same time. It's pretty fun and (from what I've seen) makes things progressively harder as you level up. I like it a lot!

Also from time to time you get a cut scene about the life of the composer Chopin (who is also a playable character) which is kind of terrible, but I'm not terribly aggrieved since I'm taking the whole game with a pinch of salt.
