Beat Mass Effect.
I went 100% Paragon.

I'll admit. I was kind of turned off to the game's initial play through and the side quests kind of sucked. but the story was good. Looking forward to also eventually playing 2 and when it releases, 3.

Probably going to play Amnesia next.

I am trying my hardest to play through The Witcher but it is slowly becoming repetitive. Still a really well made game and I am looking forward to the sequel. I'm not sure what else to play.

Considering picking up Lego Star Wars III though.

playing borderlands at the moment. part of me likes the game, part of me really dislikes it. the gameplay is definitely strong enough to justify playing it, but the presentation of the quests really really really feels like a cheap mmo shooter. it's irritating because i don't think it really needed to be like this. yeah, i understand that the cooperative play is a key part to the way the game is supposed to work, but i don't think that's ample justification for the single-player mode to be complete and utter trash. there could have been a better divide there, where you at least had some effort put into a main single-player quest that is separate from the cooperative play. as it is, it's almost jarring playing the game single-player and not seeing fellow mmo players bouncing around being generally annoying.

still, despite an awful presentation and way too much grinding for a single-player game, the way the game physically works is pretty fun. the design of the gameplay is unusually conducive to memorable fights, seemingly at random, which probably says a lot for the game i guess.

mass effect 2 is so much better than the first one too. most people i've talked to agree with this. i didn't even like the first one, but i ended up loving the second one. most of the things i strongly disliked about the first one were fixed in mass effect 2. crazy.

Just got dicked by my Minister of the Interior in Hidden Agenda. I picked him to focus on improving infrastructure but instead he just ignored the needs of anybody not formerly in the dictator's military. I guess I was just suppose to play truth and reconciliation with these guys because the rebels didn't do shit to protect me.

I WAS going to play my copy of Amnesia on steam. but my computer doesn't want to play on high or even medium settings and I'm hesitant to go lower since its a horror game and relies on atmosphere, which can have a tendency rely on graphics. (though if any of you know that the game is still just as unsettling on low settings please let me know)

So instead, feeling in the mood for some racing again, decided I'd try playing through the NFS games. After trying NFS 1 on my PSP, I felt little need to play more than a race or 2, the game was somewhat dull, hadn't aged gracefully.

So I decided to move onto NFS2, which after spending about 2-3 hours trying to get it to work on my W7 desktop or XP Netbook, I was unable to play it. I'll give the PSX version a shot on an emulator/PSP later. So I tried NFS3: Hot Pursuit and High Stakes, both of which I was able to get running on my Netbook, so I'll play those on and off.

Felt like some post apocalypse linearity so I'm reinstalling Metro 2033. Might do another playthrough of it.

I finished dragon age and it really stunk. I think I said "it's like in the name of the king: a dungeon siege tail but less entertaining" before, but I didn't realize how apt that assessment was until I got to places like the deep roads and the elven ruins. just wave after wave of stupid darkspawn enemies in unnecessarily huge, repetitive levels. I guess it did a few things well, but in the whole scope of the game I think they're really insignificant.

more games!! what games should I play!! :fogetangry:

edit: this was notch's favorite game of 2011.

NFS: High Stakes is surprisingly good for being such an old racing game.

Man, I can't wait for that to come out on PC so I can sit in bed and play it on my laptop. There's a lot to be said for sitting under duvet and playing a game. My eyesight is shit so I'm not really a TV gamer.

Almost a year since that game came out. They do like to shove them in your face near exam time.

I'm playing Arcanum. I like it a lot. It fixed a lot of the things wrong with the first 2 Fallout games, but I don't quite like the feel of the game as much as Fallout. Its music is fantastic and I cannot think of another game that let me spend a night with a Half-Orc dominatrix as a reward for doing a quest.

Playing Spiral Knights now that it's released. I'm really enjoying it apart from the fact that I have to stop playing after two or three hours and wait a whole day before playing again.
