My friend and I decided to make the most overpowered Skyrim characters we could. We are taking kind of different routes, but we're both grinding smithing. I'd played it enough that I'm pretty successfully minmaxing my guy and it's only a matter of time before he's an unstoppable force of nature. I also had been joking about a Breton warrior for a while so I just made one really quick, mainly to see how quickly it would take for him to die... but in Skyrim you can TOTALLY make a Breton Warrior. They're actually pretty good because they have such high magic resistance. It's also great that I can honestly tell people I'm a Breton in a full suit of heavy armor that duel wields war axes.

Oh. yes... there is a lot of them. In most cases people want to get into multiplayer. In which case, whatever people are currently playing (as in, a game in which its community isn't dead)
I actually don't have a preference between CoD and Battlefield games. They are both fun in different ways. CoD is a little more newbie friendly though (arguably). Currently, I believe Call of Duty 4's multiplayer is still alive, and its arguably the best of the group. Its single player is even pretty good.

Counter Strike: Source is another obvious choice. But I usually don't play it and its DEFINITELY not new player friendly. As most of the people playing it have been playing forever and are scary/inhumanly good.

The current CoD is MW3. And has been the game I've been playing. Its honestly one of the weakest of the CoD's multiplayer-wise in my opinion. But its not necessarily bad and I'm obsessing over it anyway. My main issues are that the maps are very samey in structure, are all close to mid range (good luck if you want to snipe), and some of the weapons are just basically garbage (especially in the close quarters). I recommend watching some of the in-depth videos on the weapons done by a guy named drift0r on youtube. They are pretty informative. (Though he occasionally makes mistakes, be sure to check for any updates to his youtube). I've yet to play Single Player. This is the first CoD that I skipped right over SP to play MP, and that's largely because MW2 had a very dumb plot in comparison to CoD4.

The current Battlefield  (Battlefield 3) is a game I've yet to play due to EA's Origin and lack of money.  Its a little more advanced I'm assuming (I did play Bad Company 2) For instance it has bullet drop, destruct-able structures, big maps, and larger number of players in a single game. I've heard its single player is bad though.

Like multiplayer probably isn't my whole bag as I'm really REALLY shit at FPS games for the mostpart. I really liked Return to Castle Wolfenstein's multiplayer back in the day, but it mostly ended up with my team calling me a noob for accidentally (on purpose sometimes? :D!) flamethrowering us into last place.

If CoD is more newbie friendly then that makes sense. I might just get the like original game and work through the series maybe. I know my youngest brother is way into them, but gameplay for him consists of having psychotic episodes where he's screaming into his microphone XD!

COD got crap (read too much) after number two, as far as I'm concerned post COD 2 the only highlight was the nuke.
I'm playing with the Creation kit and working on a mod, when I get the first part I'm working on, I'll post it.

Call of Duty 4 was the first CoD I played. Its my favorite. I was never interested in WW2. But after playing CoD4, the gameplay of it got me interested to go and play the older WW2 ones.

And CoD4 has the most interesting story of pretty much all of the CoD's I've played. That's not really saying much though since CoD isn't exactly known for great story telling. But still, it was pretty good.

Guys, if you ever get the urge to make an incredibly overpowered Skyrim character, it is not worth it. The journey is fun, but once you get to the point where you've achieved your goal it's very unrewarding and you can get the same experience much more quickly by changing the difficulty setting.

Utter, utter genius. I giggled like fuck upon seeing this, so much so that it's definitely worth repeating in this quote (even if it is on the same page already mayhaps!?!?)

geo is that an event from your game or like some meme thing? If it's from your game then, coupled with your response, tripled with your recent response to frisky skeleton (...mummies need not apply) means you are most likely the front runner in the "totally funny dudes I know" contest.

Ok, that's enough of me sucking geodude's dick: let's have a fucking Faust is behind as always rating of the NEW VEGAS EXPANSIONS I've been playing.

'Old World Blues' I thought was pretty amazing. I loved the characterisation of the scientists in the thinktank, LOVED the possibilities for the end mission of the expansion, and thought it was pretty amazing the variation on endings. The overall feel was really "fallout" to me. The only real complaint with it that I had was that the two kind of "testing lab" areas of it were incredibly boring to me - the sneaking around one specifically. It seemed to be "Do this same thing (find three computer files) like six times, even though they're in exactly the same location". That said though, I really liked the stealth armour and its upgrades, even if it did break immediately upon leaving Big MT. In fact, I've never gotten the 35k caps necessary to repair it, so OOOPS!

The second one I've played now, 'Honest Hearts', I actually enjoyed even more than 'Old World Blues', especially the ending mission. Don't get me wrong, as an achievements whore it meant I had to go back and do BOTH endings to it rather than waiting for like my next play-through, but again the amount of variation on what can happen was pretty wonderful in my opinion. I thought the new weapons in it were pretty interesting and I thought the new map area was about the right size for DLC (whereas I found traversing Big MT a little bit of a chore sometimes). The tribal conflict and religious background really excited me too. I've heard that this DLC received quite bad reviews, and I can't really understand why - maybe I'm pleased by simper things or?

I can't decide on the next DLC my character is going to hit - 'Dead Money' or 'Lonesome Road'. I actually started 'Lonesome Road' first, but then met the EDE robot dude and thought "No, fuck this" for some reason. I heard that it has ENCLAVE in it though, so maybe it's really good. Oh, I also really liked the Gun Runners' Arsenal too, especially the new challenges it added. Although it does seem to have made everything cost unrealistic (for me to earn) amounts of caps, especially as I have to pump all my money into buying grimy pre-war businesswear (when this comes back into fashion I will be as rich as Crassus [ho ][/ho]!!!)

yeah, it happened to me....

(i read that prof oak was coded in at some stage and you can activate him with a gameshark code, but unfortunately i forgot to define his team with a different code and this was the result)

pokemon has so many cool glitches / weird quirks. i think in terms of the whole madcap experience nothing holds a candle to the original two pokemon games. that's kind of impressive / cool after so many years

when I saw the screenshots I actually thought it was due to using the fishing rod at a non-water tile (through some other glitch). resulting in encountering enemy 0 or 255, i.e. glitched oak. or something like that.

I told myself I was done with CoD multiplayer for a while and was planning on playing Twisted Metal/Morrowind/Red Dead Revolver. But I'm mildly worried that Black Ops Multi might die at some point (it has the lowest numbers of all the CoDs) Which sucks because its one of the better ones gameplay-wise. Its to bad that it kind of runs like shit on Windows 7. So I'm playing it while its still going.

I want to play Dwarf Fortress again but I always find myself quitting with about 50 or so dwarves, the time you spend where the game is paused to change orders etc.. gets more and more lengthy and it's just too tiring to do.

nope. fishing in the statues in gyms actually works in every gym, but you'll only catch stuff in misty's gym (because it has water in it, it has fishing encounters programmed in). you can also surf inside those statues. pokemon rules.
