I finally got around to beating Ratchet and Clank. Fantastic game.

I tried starting up the first Jak and Daxter but the disc I bought at a garage sale is too scratched up. Wasted a dollar.

So I'm starting the Second Ratchet and Clank. First thing I noticed: did they change the voice actor for Ratchet? Also I can actually STRAFFE in this one, so it feels more like a proper shooter. In fact it's balance of platform vs shooter has largely switched.

There all good other then "All 4 One" and I haven't checked the new one that just came out but avoid All 4 One at all cost.

All 4 One is ok if you're playing with people you know. It was free on PSPlus a while ago so my brother and I picked it up and played it for a while. It's decent, but not fun solo and not fun with random people.

OK, Ratchet and Clank 2 is seriously 10x better than the original and the original was already very very good.

The only part that I think is kind of weak is the space ship combat. Too easy and slow, basically:
1) turbo boost a bit
2) turn around
3) fire lasers
4) repeat, don't worry about getting hit, maybe dodge asteroids.

The racing and hacking parts are HARD AS FUCK but they are fun and that arena thing early on was awesome. Level design is largely just as good as the original, Boss fights are common and all done very very well.

The weapon upgrade system both encourages you to use all the weapons (to get their power upgrade) and to explore (weapon mods bought with platinum bolts)

The game is just exquisite. It is thus far my favorite 3D platformer now... and its only the second game, its old as hell. WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING

Dude, isnt flying around between planets fucking awesome though? So much fun. My favorite thing about that game, because it's the thing I wanted to do the most in the first one.

The 'flight' controls themselves are fine, weaving around asteroids and stuff is moderately enjoyable. Its just that the actual COMBAT is lacking. The enemies don't do anything interesting and you have a ton of health so it never really thrills. Its passable though.

Maybe it'll get more interesting later on, have stronger and more fun to kill enemy types or something. but the 2 space sections I did were meh.

Despite that, its still my favorite 3D Platformer now...

I'll admit though my favorite 3D platformer before this was a 3 way tie between Spyro 1-3. Also by Insomniac. Despite my new found love of Ratchet and Clank I still yearn for another Insomniac Spyro.

Its too bad that the Resistance series doesn't live up to the legacy. (though I've only played through the first 2 games)

I love Ratchet and Clank even the first had charm and originality the big difference is the pacing and XP system. Warped did you find  a hidden room on the last lv of R&C (the first one) you can trade in those gold bolts for some nice upgrades. also I think all R&C have secret museums other the the first and there worth cheeking out and they had some cool ideas that where never implemented or removed due to the complexity or limitations of the hardware .

It's kind of fun that I Remembered all this useless info last time I played the first game was 2002 and i was 15 man, 10 years go by so fast.

Also you may hate Ratchet: Deadlocked (well I liked it , but not as much as going commando ) also a key note I notice and achieved on this game is the ability to get 99lv on every weapon . You may come at me with a question was it worth it? I'll reply Rainbow beams. i mean at lv99 there is a big difference in power but after lv10  (I think) the power rise by 1 on most weapons. (I grind the shit out of my weapons to achieve this and sadly i get no medal.

Isn't he playing the PS3 versions? I mean when he's saying "1" and "2" I thought he was referring to Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time.

Nope, the PS2 games, in this case Going Commando. Not the future series. I wanted to play the originals before moving on to the future series. I got the first 3 games at a garage Sale for 3 dollars.

I actually got "A Crack in Time" for PS3 from the only convention I've ever gone to (me being awful at bartering I'm pretty sure I was ripped off). Though, its currently unplayed.

Ok so then ignore my other posts, I was talking about A Crack In Time with the flying around stuff (I'm actually surprised that made sense).

You should play Ratchet: Deadlocked  too I mean it has nothing to do with the future series unlike the first three ps2 games (Since the first 3 have him questioning his past ) But I think if I remember correctly it significant only lies at the end.(I would tell you in spoiler tags but I don't think they will work.)

I don't have Deadlocked (nor the first 2 "Future" entries). But I'll probably get them eventually.

Despite how great the first one was and how great this one is thus far I'm sure I'll be fatigued before I reach the Future series. Hell, probably even fatigued before Deadlocked. So it'll probably be a while before I get the the later games.

Yeah there's something about it. I like the game but I just can't seem to get anywhere in it, which is completely frustrating.

With Dark souls, once you have completed your first playthrough it becomes insanely easy to replay it. Same thing with Demon souls, unlike a lot of other games where a second playthrough can be just as tough as the first. I think with dark/demon souls its more about the skill of the individual player more than gear, level or magic. For my third playthrough I decided to complete the game with a lv 1 character, I got through most of the game in a matter of hours with ease.

Unlike most other games I felt compelled to replay the game multiple times.

WWE'13
I mostly play it for it's excellent customisation suite, rather than playing as any of the actual wrestlers, I just create my own shows, arenas, wrestlers etc. I've been doing it since 1998/9 with WWF Attitude, so the main characters' stories have progressed and such like it's own wrestling tv show, even though I don't really watch it.
Here's the current roster:

Grime Styles, Garcia Gonzales, Donovan, Jessica Watt & Soozie Sunshine are based on common thugs from Streets Of Rage, with Abedebe being based on the wrestler level boss in them. The Newman family are based on the characters from Turok 2/3, but have since developed their own personalities.
The Black Sphinx is an unused Jack Kirby design, which as soon as I saw it, I just had to turn into a wrestler.
Bane is obviously Bane from Batman (and featuring the same moral ambiguity). Kinda the undefeatable monster. His current story is a desire to train the best of the new generation.
Generally there's a set cast of 20-30 who I've made EVERY YEAR for the past 12 or so years, some 'retire' some get added, and the remainders are generally created new for each game, and the ones that work well in the stories I set up will become parts of that main roster.

The past few games have had a 'universe' mode, which basically sets up a continous schedule of shows, though you can edit any of the matches, or events or titles... everything really. And it will develop random storylines, so it's just a continous mode, which allows me to have my custom shows:
Heavy Artillery - Monday night 'raw' style show, focusing on the heavyweight classes, and the main story arcs (Roster is Black Sphinx down to Donovan)
Dragon Night - Wednesday's show, focusing on lightweight and 'unorthadox' style wrestling as well as new comers. Think old 90's ECW (Roster is Miles Sullivan down to Parker Blade)
TKO - Saturday's show which combines the two

I put way too much thought into this.... but yeah, it's fun, so fuck it.

I really hope they don't call it Dark Souls 2. That's so dumb, though I kind of understand why they'd name it that. I just hope it has nothing to do with Dark Souls, lore-wise. I hope everything is completely new.
