eh, I tried Mass Effect and the gameplay felt incredibly bland to me. I guess I just had a "OH COOL ITS A SHOOTER RPG" mentality going into it and found it to be lackluster on the actual action of shooting. My friend Caleb said that is just because I was in the early levels where your cross hairs are huge making it so that you just point in the general direction of an enemy holding the left mouse button and wait for them to die rather than actually aim. add this with the slow nature of it and I couldn't keep my attention on the game.

That's just me though, I'll eventually give it another shot probably but there are so many other games I have not tried or that I know are good to bother with it now.

I'm playing Mass Effect specifically so that when I buy Mass Effect 2 I have a character to import.

I was gonna download this, then I saw that it was like 14 gig or something around that. My shitty Australian internet has a cap of 12 gig.

Same here, sorta. I'm going to try to finish up a full replay in over the weekend, provided nothing else breaks around here that I have to repair. I realized the character build I really enjoyed using was the one I set up to be a total bastard in the story, and since I never do an "evil" run for my first play of a new game, I need to replay him with paragon in mind before continuing into ME2.

Also, I picked up GTA4 pretty cheaply a couple of weeks back, and I still think I overpaid. The parody/likeness of New York was fairly impressive, but the game seemed much less interactive than previous ones. It seemed like quite a few of the chases I've done so far don't allow you to kill the target until after they've already run through several of the scripted "ooh, look, a Hollywood stunt!" moments, which is frustrating when I'm clearly plugging mr Russian sunday boater in the back of the damn head repeatedly with clip after clip from my desert eagle. If I can't kill the jerk outright, he should at least start to pilot his boat more erratically due to the splitting headache. Anyway... the game feels like one step forward and six giant steps back, and has subsequently spoiled a little of my enthusiasm for both Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption.

Already made decision. Mass Effect 2 now, Bioshock 2 just in two weeks (just before release so I still get the first one free)

I like Bioshock but I can never play it when my girlfriend is around. People plunging massive needles into their arms to heal just doesn't sit well with her :welp:

I am pretty needlephobic and really can't stand watching stuff like this on tv or real life, but for some reason I don't react at all to it in games. Did play it on PC though so maybe it'd be different playing it on my TV.

Also just restarted playing Dwarf Fortress after minecraft gave me a mad urge. Latest build is still from 2008 but the new one should be out soon...really looking forward to it :D

I could never get into Dwarf Fortress. It's incredibly complex.
