I just finished playing Cactus's new game Norrland. It's basically a collection of short connected minigames and gets kind of repetitive after a while but it's still pretty great. The art style is probably the best I've seen in any game and the dream sequences ruled. I guess the point was to capture the uh terse deadpan weirdness of old arcade games and it does that really well but I kind of wish it'd gone further. It's a good game though!

Don't have soulsilver or heartgold yet. When the pokewalker levels up, does it level up like a rare candy would, with stat gimps?

A friend of mine knows someone in the marines who always carries his pokewalker with him when he's on his training runs. I still cannot reconcile the idea of marines and pokemon at the same time.

Still, it makes me think. If you were to tape your pokewalker to your car's hubcaps...

EDUT: Also, gonna try to install Brawl: Minus. Snake is wtfhax.
Rare candies don't actually gimp you stats unless you never use that pokemon to fight another pokemon ever(which gives EVs, basically a 'secret' stat that effects how your pokemons stat grow) and just level them purely with candies, the pokewalker works the same way, plus your pokemon won't learn moves.  This is actually a good thing if you want to train your pokemon with specific EVs and still use the pokewalker to level up.  Also I've heard you can wear your pokewalker while driving and it will gain some distance, no need to put it on your hubcap.

Dead Rising. I am liking everything about the game except for the progression system. The fact that you have to go out of your way to save the game combined with the fact that it punishes you by completely restarting from the beginning if you die makes for a pretty horrible experience. If the game would at least autosave after each boss or completed task/mission then it would be somewhat more tolerable.

Anyway it is still a good game aside from that, and I'll see if I have the motivation required to finish it. So far I haven't even been able to finish the first mission. :-(

I might buy Fallout 3(plus expansions, not including vegas) this week or next week, doesn't cost that much $50.00.
Current RPG Making Projects:

Main projects: Eternia's Promise, demo out on rpgmaker.net

Desperation Of A New Era. Prolouges out, Part 1 out. Finally a game that I can
upload and complete.

Liberated Arms VX Ace Current Status: Cancelled. For now.

Dreamwalker VX Ace Current Status: Dead, unless it's restarted one day.

Story of Ligara: Dead. Again.

And my other thousand games...(not literally)

Vegas isn't an expansion. It's an entirely new game.

Woot! Just completed Resident Evil 5, I can't decide on which to get infinite ammo for? The L.Hawk or the S&W 500. I think I'll play GTA4 now!

My friend and I have been raging over Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and Age of Wonders 2. They're super old, but also extremely classic.

As for recent games, Fifa World Cup 10 and the new Madden are taking up a lot of my time. I love how they changed Madden to make it seem more like Backbreakers. Also, Nazi Zombies (on CoD:World at War) is always a good bet to suck away hours of my life in any given week.

I've found that I basically played the first hour of the game four or five times, getting so far and then restarting, levelling up along the way and doing different sidequests/exploring different areas each time to get more XP. After you've gotten to a decent level, which again took me four or five hours, I managed to go through the game at a pretty decent difficulty/pace. My advice is to ignore the story for now and just explore the mall, level yourself up a bit - the main helpers are those extra item slots!

Beat The Ballad of Gay Tony and thus also beat Episodes from Liberty City.

The Ballad of Gay Tony was fucking excellent. The Lost and Damned was ok. only part I really enjoyed a lot was the road rash style racing game.

I might turn on my PS3 and play that if that's the case. Would rather play it on PC though. Shame you don't just automatically own it on all formats.

It has a hell of a lot of new weapons (that are worth using), The AA-12 with explosive shells being my favorite. The missions are decently varied. I liked the story a lot more. and you can replay any mission once you've beaten the game. and sort of go for a better percentage. The only thing I didn't like so much were the helicopter missions... but only because I suck at PC controls for heli's in GTA. The entire time I played I think I got 1-2 calls to go 'hang out' (and there are only 2 characters to do this with, and you do it with both) This is a plus.

Yeah in general I enjoyed this one quite a lot. also Brucie is in it.

Though IDK if you should envy that I am playing it on PC. As it suffers from the same low FPS and pop-in and GTA4. It didn't bother me to much because I'm not picky about that sort of thing. but many people are.

Some Spoiler Talk involving GTA4, TLAD, and TBoGT:

Played a little Alpha Prime. (I bought it on steam a while ago for a dollar).

They should have just called it "Sci-Fi FPS". Because you literally need no other description. I mean its fun and competently made. but to say its generic would be a GIGANTIC UNDERSTATEMENT.

It's all of the great parts from Shadow of Chernobyl + The good parts from Clear Sky. It's easily the best of the three. You aren't dropped into the story completely blind either, like you are in the other two.
Did I miss something when I played, then? I started on a hill next to two random STALKERS who told me about the boat town, and just kind of walked over there myself. It easily felt the most dumped-into-the-game beginning of all of them. I've searched all the nearby helicopters and I still don't really get what I'm doing apart from getting rich by hunting anomalies.

Well the game had a cutscene at the beginning that explained the storyline, which is better than the other two where you're not really sure what's happening.

i just beat half life 2 and the episodes and am now going achievement hunting for lack of anything better to play

i really don't understand what everybody loves about this game, there isn't anything new past halfway through HL2, with the rest of the game and the expansions being just KILL 2 OF THAT BOSS FROM EARLIER

i guess the graphics are good and the puzzles are fun but there were also times when i was stuck somewhere for tens of minutes because i missed a level or god forbid a character told me to do something and i was looking the other way (so it was inaudible)
not to mention the ridiculous platforming over lava/water/sand that this game is just not made for! agh!

i like the game alot maybe just because of the engine but i really don't see how it can even compare to say COD or halo

Pretty sure it's because it has an outstanding story, not because of it's first person shooter elements. They were great six years ago, but times have changed. Story is still excellent though.

Well considering you can't suggest that those have good stories :/
