how is minecraft nowadays? is there multiplayer adventure yet? if not is there an option to enable adventure features in sandbox mode (like.. well, collecting shit and doors and chests etc)
Minecraft nowadays rocks. It has evolved.
At the moment there's a "free weekend" and anyone can play Alpha until he gets the site back up because it died under the stress of people coming from Penny Arcade and Kotaku, but once the site is back up you have to buy the game. Paid players (come on, it's like $10 USD or something) can play Survival Alpha, which is the mining and crafting swords and weaponry and exploring and being jumped by spiders on a map that is essentially 8 times the size of the earth last time I heard.
Notch recently went and had a chat with Valve about setting up his own game design company in Stockholm, and he's started hiring people. Both so he can develop Minecraft faster but also so that he can start work on this other secret game idea he and a good friend of his have been chatting about.
There
is multiplayer survival alpha EXCEPT it is totally bug ridden. Mainly because nobody listened and kept bugging him to release it and so we got a really buggy piece of multiplayer. At the moment there are mobs but you can't kill them, you can't die, last time I played it doors and stairs were sometimes real fucked up, but I'm not sure about how they are now. Notch is updating it every few days with new fixes to multiplayer as well as new fixes and things to single player.
This fan made trailer says it all.
