if you haven't already I think you should try it before giving up on the game.

I've done almost everything Oblivion has to offer multiple times, this is something like my third playthrough. The storyline is just really really tedious. But yeah, Dark Brotherhood is definitely the best part of the game.

EDIT: Just finished the FEAR 2 Reborn DLC, starting on Bioshock now.

Never could bring myself to go very far in the main questline, but the Dark Brotherhood quests are a cut above everything else. Why wasn't this much effort put into the rest of the game?

Also, Cactus Squid is still awesome
I kept waiting for an expansion pack to come out that would continue the Dark Brotherhood missions.  My dream never came true...

Aquaria. Holy shit did not expect this game to be so good. I basically picked it at random.

To those who have not played it, I fully recommend it!

I beat Bioshock, now I'm onto Bad Company 2's storyline.

Prepare to be underwhelmed. Bad Company 2's story was meh. Then again, I played the first one's story and it was a lot better, so maybe my expectations were too high.

Also, less funny. There is a few decent grins and chuckles though.

Yeah I'm underwhelmed. Wasn't expecting it to be a good story, that game is really only good for it's multiplayer. I'm pretty much skipping the cutscenes just to beat the levels.

From what I heard, they tried to be too serious about the storyline for BC2...  I mean, you can't be a "Modern Warfare 2"-killer with silliness.

I'd continue through the chain game if I could get around that error . . .

The storyline honestly isn't hugely serious, it's just really boring. Maybe that's because it's the cold war, not something fictional in Modern Day. I'm not sure. I'm really looking forward to it being over.

Well, I have been playing it for a while and I'm probably not going to play more. There are some really annoying glitches which make it kinda annoying to play. Light effects are bugged if I play in full screen (like constant flickering which really hurts your eyes) and sometimes sound gets bugged, voice acting disappearing and sound effects playing way too loudly and incorrectly (hard to explain this). Game also crashes sometimes whenever there's a loading point which makes playing it even more annoying.

The game itself is very promising though. It's much more linear than Crysis was and I mean that in a good way. My main issue with Crysis was that it lacked focus and while it was fun to play the way you want to it was still ultimately always about getting from point a to point b which made those huge levels mostly pretty pointless. Crysis 2 also has the same basic concept that you can approach any situation either by just going in guns blazing or by being stealthy. But the way the game plays feels more like Half-Life 2 than Crysis and that's a good thing, it just feels more streamlined and focused. Using suit has been simplified as well, this time you only turn on/off stealth or armor and there's no mode for speed or power. You simply have to sprint to use your speed ability and you'll use power ability whenever you do any of the power moves like hold space to jump really high or kick cars with the action button or other stuff like that. It's really nice because now you don't have to constantly be switching your suit mode and you'll still be able to do all the things you could before.

Another thing I really like is that this time there's a melee stealth kill which is a nice addition because in some of the bigger areas being noticed means taking on waves of enemies and it can be pretty tough on the higher difficulty settings. Although I can't say it's as much fun to sneak up on enemies and kill them as in MGS or Uncharted 2 since stealth mode makes it a bit too easy, it's still fun.

On the downside, I feel the environment isn't nearly as interactive anymore, perhaps it has something to do with the engine being reworked so that consoles can handle the game as well. I tried to shoot down some trees and branches and they wouldn't break or fall down. You can still interact with most of the smaller objects but I don't get the same interactive feeling as I did in Crysis. Of course it's also partly because of the fact that Crysis 2 takes place in urban setting instead of a jungle with small destroyable huts and stuff like that. Another thing is that I have come across a few vehichles and I couldn't drive any of them. It would've been pretty much impossible to actually do anything with them in middle of the city levels I played but it just felt weird since you could use any vehichle you wanted before.

I partly feel it's been downgraded from Crysis and Crysis Warhead but it still looks and feels fantastic. But I really like the more streamlined approach and if Crysis Warhead was any indication which direction Crysis is going, I think I'm going to like Crysis 2 a lot. But yeah, until someone manages to fix some of those more or less game breaking bugs, I'm gonna wait for the retail version.

Just beat Bad Company 2. Story was underwhelming, as usual. The last level (Airborne) was reasonably good in terms of how it was set up but other than that it was just your simple shooter.

Hopefully Battlefield 3's singleplayer is a little more inspired.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to play next, we'll see how I go.

Crysis 2 seems to just be gimping all the stuff that made me like the first one. Maybe I'll torrent it.

Crysis 2 looks terrible gameplay-wise. I can see how they try to put in multiple choices, but the original Crysis was just far more dynamic. In Crysis 2, it seems like the developers make up a few choices and say "okay, here are your choices. Pick what you want to do." whereas in Crysis it's more like "okay, here is this giant map littered with many physics-active objects. Go crazy." Crysis just seems a lot more like a sandbox as choices feel natural. In Crysis 2, they even have your suit tell you that you have a bunch of combat options available and when you use "tactical vision" or whatever it's called, it tells you that you can grab this ledge or throw a grenade into this turret nest or even where to flank.

While Crysis 2 has that "stealth or guns blazing" Crysis had that and much more in-between since the environment changed a lot more. The large open maps were not a waste, but instead a way to allow the player to approach situations from any angle he or she desires rather than the very few clearly-defined paths that they have in Crysis 2. Maybe the number of physics-objects increases with higher settings, since I hear the Crysis 2 beta doesn't support anything higher than medium. Perhaps I need to play the thing myself. Either way, I do not like how it looks.

i've been playing fable 3 lots today. what a dumb game but i just can't stop playing for some reason!! also i've found myself playing "guess the voice of the famous british comedian", which top three so far seem to be stephen fry, john cleese and zoe wanamaker but i think they were all in fable 2 as well so its pretty moot but hey.

GTA 4 all the way at the moment. I was obsessed with the PROFESSOR LAYTON series during my recent incapacitation, and now it has been replaced by driving around and doing bad things to various people.

It actually gets out a lot of RAGE. Plus the 'hero' is a lot deeper than GTA protagonists of previous generations. Like I genuinely feel for him and shit. Also for DWAYNE AND BRUCIE, who it is the best thing in the world that you can befriend them.

It was pretty much the reason I bought the 360 hermanos. I think I might be near the end of it, then on to LOST AND THE DAMNED and GAY TONY and shit. Good times.

I was the opposite. Fucking detested GTAIV.

Also, to the two Hobo's: I agree with you on some fronts, but I have to say I find the New York setting (despite the cliche) a little more interesting than RANDOM ISLAND IN THE PHILIPPINES or wherever it was. Maybe the gameplay won't be as good. . . Not sure, will have to wait and see.
