World of Warcraft since 2006, DC universe online (legendary status) and Diablo III (up to act I Hell mode), and Warcraft III on occasion. Played Star Trek Online for awhile than quit, plan to go back to it eventually but only as free to play status.

i'm playing hitman: blood money and it's such a weird combination of the absolute worst in videogames (this must be the nadir of all the crap i've played in certain respects) but it's also extremely fun and lively i really like how well the levels are designed (the mention of this is why i got it) and how much of a local area simulation it can feel like. it's a shame it is so fucking gross. there should be a non-gross group of people who re-imagine something like this, maybe without the brass tacks murder angle.

What are those "worst in videogames" things that you are referring to?

Also, I read the word 'gross' a lot on this forum. In this context, what do you explicitly mean?

For me, I'm playing games on my backlog on and off. Weekends only for me since I have stuff I have to do on weekdays. Currently playing the recent NFS: Hot Pursuit. Its pretty fun.

was really interested in dragons dogma way back when it was first announced since it indeed looked like a monster hunter/demon souls type deal

but i guess all the talk of lame story/world and wrpg elements turned me off, i'll download the demo though to see for myself if its at least fun

So basically what i want is a ps3 monster hunter......

online-enabled co-op games are great. if only i had.....fr..i.e..n.ds....

when we gonna play dark souls you fool
yes coulombs are "germaine", did you learn that word at talk like a dick school?

Playing through mass effects(s) and I'm on the first one.

I love the depth they put into the whole background of the game. Historical advances in science, specifics on newly observed planets, alien cultures, theology, and history. I've not been able to find a game that extensive and creative with that sort of stuff except for the elder scroll series. Game takes me twice as long because I read through everything. Its really interesting.

Like I was reading about asarism and the turian form of governance. Its so cool. Very thorough and thought out. I want more stuff like this.

yea ME1 was way better for me than 2, disagreers gonna disagree but i liked the equips stuff and exploring planets (like that one time when you stumble upon some kind of monolith and there's like a paragragh text description of you trippin balls as you travel through time and space or w/e)  and i was much more enthralled with it than me2

still havent played me3, am not planning to until it hits bargain bin (read: steam sale) prices

what the fuck do you do with that monolith thing anyways?

I dunno bout the tripping part I don't think I've ever gotten there. for me ME2 just took that stuff to another level. If I remember correctly I actually liked it more and the planet exploration actually made more sense because you're not just roving around world after world in like 20 minutes you only hit parts with a certain level of importance.

I haven't played ME3 yet either. Going to when its both cheap and I've also already worked a decent way through my backlog.

ME1 had the best plot of the first 2, and more complexity in its RPG elements (good), but its interface was probably the worst I've ever seen and its combat was really dull, especially early on where your accuracy was shit so you just sat there spraying and praying for entirely too long. It was also hit or miss with its characters. (Kaiden wins the least interesting character award) The plant exploration shit did not bother me but thats because I played the PC version where you control it with your mouse making it a lot less time consuming.

ME2's characters were WAY better, in fact there was only 1 character I did not find interesting, Grunt. It also had more interesting action gameplay, (though it was still basically Gears of War Lite) But it's plot was kind of dumb, and the RPG elements were watered down.

I needed to remind myself why I still play games, so I reinstalled Tyrian 2000 and gave it another whirl. Searched up the soundtrack on Google and happened upon what appears to be Dada's Youtube channel, so here I am again.

...Salt World.... funny name for a planet.....

I've been playing a 3DSWare game called Rabi x Laby 3. It's basically a puzzle platformer where you co-ordinate two characters and navigate your way to the exit. The levels get pretty tricky later on, but the best part is that there's a timer and medal system, so once you've figured out how to clear the level you can go back and speedrun it, trying shortcut strategies or just better execution to shave off seconds.

I haven't finished it yet, but there's a leaderboard for the top total times. The thing I like about the 3DS is that it hasn't been cracked yet, so you can actually have fun competing with other players' scores. It's not really about GAMING SERIOUS BUSINESS, but it's nice to know that those crazy times are legit and, though not in this game, it's fun to be back in an age where you can have secrets and stuff without everything being dissected with cheats the moment it's out.

started psychonauts again after getting it in the latest humble bundle, and it's held up really well.  awesome and rewarding gameplay mechanics, collectibles that aren't too onerous, nice graphics and a storyline that's actually worked in to the gameplay

love this game

Psychonauts is a perfect example of a game that starts with a steady difficulty curve, but then spikes in the last 10 percent. I love it and Tim Schafer can do no wrong in my eyes, but goddamn that last level is hard.

I found Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition at a used bookstore for 5 dollars. I have spent most of my free time in the past 3 days playing it. I think the game is really fun, but the story is completely mediocre. I look forward to trying out some modules once I've played through the main campaign. I might even try to make one.

Started playing a Borderlands co-op game with my brother. I had Borderlands before and it was a decent game, the shooting feels good and you get upgrades quite often, so it's satisfying in that Diablo kind of way. Only thing is it's incredibly boring by yourself, and playing with random people is an exercise in frustration, everyone just runs off and does whatever they want, and steal all the drops. It's irritating. But playing with my bro is cool, we can go at our own pace and share loot appropriately. I'd like to get a third or even fourth person, but it's hard to coordinate with people you don't really know.

My brother gets sick from first person games though. At least these types where you have to pick stuff up off the ground and whatnot. I know what he's talking about, because it happens to me too, it's like there's some way you have to get used to looking at the screen to avoid getting nauseous, like it has to do with moving your eyes/head along with the camera, if you do that it'll make you sick. You have to kind of lock your head, and keep your eyes staring straight at the center of the screen when the camera is moving. I dunno if anybody has any tips for how to avoid nausea when playing first person games I'd love to hear em, he can only play for an hour or two before it gets too much. He played through Bioshock so I think he just has to get adjusted to first-person again. He plays Skyrim in third-person though.

My biggest problem with borderlands was that if you wanted to play all the content (side quests) the game became boringly easy because you are always over equipped.

Also, there really wasn't much real variance in the way new guns behaved which I thought was dull. The only times I struggled to determine which gun to pick was when damage was technically impossible to compare. Like, I don't remember the specific numbers since its been so long, but say one gun has 2x fire damage and 40 base damage while another gun very similar other than being 5x toxic damage with 30 base damage. I have no context in which to compare the elemental damage types vs base damage.

None of the guns honestly felt fun to shoot, the environments are basically the same through out the game, and every mission felt the same.

Other than that it was just an ok but disappointing coop game with a lot of draw backs.

Started playing Alpha Protocol on the PS3. Only into the first mission so far but I'm actually enjoying this. I'm not really into shooters so I appreciate that I can take the stealth approach the majority of the times, and I like the timed conversation system - it really forces you to think quickly how to approach a conversation. I wish more RPGs had this. Can't believe this game got pretty bad reviews.. unless the quality drops off later on in the game.
