I thought the game dev section got really quiet after the nackster's disappearance since  his last game competition :(

I left because I grew up. No seriously I just lost interest. I'm rekindling that interest now by thinking about attempting a MUD. But I don't know if it will come to fruition. Anyways, hey to anyone who remembers me. Trying to get on IRC now, says something about illegal ID wtf?
sup.

The first thing is correlation and the second is more likely to be causation!

me and marge haven't been here long, really. HAVE HOPE

I like you.

I have never even touched rpgmaker and I couldn't care less about this whole GD side of GW. The only topic I've read there is something GZ made. I came here because of the interesting people I had heard of, breakfast club, Catamites' music topics, all that. Most of the people still seem to be here, but nobody is interested enough to post. I wouldn't mind something drastic like dividing the place, completely revamping the whole site and ditching GD or migrating to some other place (what was that forum headphonics said he was going to?).

Well, I gotta say I miss the RP section. I know that disappeared a longgggg time ago, but I do miss it. Also the community hardly ever gave constructive criticism or even a word to things in the art forum so posting was kind of pointless. You share things and no one says anything.... :/

EDIT: But the quilt came out nice, thanks flowerpower

I love the people I've met here through the years, and that's pretty much it. Nothing else about GW is really all that important to me, and I bet most people can relate to that.

GW is actually quite a friendly community (compare it to a high-traffic forum where any slightest mistake is punished by 40 replies saying "FAIL"). It's just not uncritical like so many tiny game making communities are.

GW is just less stupid than most places. I don't know about nice or not nice - everybody is different, but I think the main thing is there is a level of intelligence around here that most places don't have. I know that might seem hard to take in with all the MALAISE and simmering hostility that gets put out there, but even the stupidest people around here aren't as bad as the majority of everywhere else on the internet, and the best people I know around here exist in a very special place.

I actually wish GW had some more nuts, it would be fun. There haven't been any nuts around for a while.

I come for not so much the game making side of things that did initially draw me here but the forums are interesting to read through, although it's getting harder and harder to find new things to reply to I still keep coming for some reason. I never got the whole "GW is teh ev!lz" that pretty much every other community will say in regards to knowing what it is.

I honestly thought once a site/GW6/7 whatever was up the activity would come back and the material lost with the site coming down would come back.

i wish we could bring back the nuts. there's not enough zany round here

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.
