Can we have rare games list back
  • Group: Guest
Sure.

It's located in the gaming forum.

Say, where are the resources then?

In the Works:
[RM2K3::SFF-RPG] Wailing Mongooses in Gildepazzo

Under Hiatus/Literary Work mode:
[Lit/Rm2k3 :: Interactive Drama] NetGame Saga PROTOTYPE
[RMXP :: RPG] NetGame Saga

Archived. We don't think it's necessary since Google will pretty much provide you with anything you need, but I'll take a closer look.

I remember that I have a template bein' shared there, and it was called the Koemushi Template... anyways, I still have the thread on other RM forums, esp. in RMXP.org.

Under Hiatus/Literary Work mode:

Resources are commonly used tho :o
I think it'll be good if we have them unless you want art to be flooded with request :<
  • Group: Guest
I don't like the idea of people requesting graphics because it mostly results in FF rips or really badly made sprites. It's also an excuse for lazy and unmotivated developers to exploit artists and then lose interest in their own projects, rendering the artist's effort useless.

We'll think about how to get around this, and I'll also take a look at the template you described.

Thanks.

Could you move back the screenshot thread (main reason most people post).
"the way you speak about rm2k3, like "modules, arrays, pointers" sounds like
you're some badass c++ programmer stuck in the past and only has rm2k3 to
work with"

Agreed with what Vanit said. I don't know why the rare games topic is in the video game forum either, because it's just bound to die a painful death in there.

And as for resources, I think that there should still be some way to obtain them at GW. Why not a resource request topic? It just seems silly to say "no, Google will give you all that you need."

Sure.

Also, I moved back the Koemushi thread.

EDIT:

We are going to solve the resource thing, like I said.

I agree that the size of a forum should be a reflection of the size of the userbase so I don't mind that the main forum sections have been reduced, but I'd also like to see that the main uses for whats left of the sections that have been supporting indie devs are still intact - it would be nice to have resources and tutorials restored as child boards, and to have the indie gaming section possible return as a child board more geared towards generic publishing of finalized content. I'm sure the existence of these sections is the only thing keeping a lot of our game making community here.

There's no reason to put a general topic under a game development forum just because the game development subcommunity wants to discuss it among themselves. It doesn't follow the rest of the forum logic at all, and only increases the segregation that we are trying to get rid of.

As for the development resources we are going to fix this in some manner. It's just going to take a few days to get everything set up.

I was about to download Reality Breakdown, but the topic's gone now. If you could PM me the one post where the links to the previous two parts were given, that's A-OK too.

Yeah I edited the post.

Also the resource forum is back, and I added the mainpage tutorial section as a game design subforum as well.
